A TP53BP1 ou proteína 1 que se une a p53 supresora de tumores (en inglés tumor suppressor p53-binding protein 1) tamén chamada proteína 1 que se une a p53 ou 53BP1 é unha proteína que nos humanos está codificada no xene TP53BP1 do cromosoma 15.[1][2][3]
Importancia clínica
[editar | editar a fonte]A 53BP1 está subexpresada na maioría dos casos de cancro de mama triplo negativo.[4]
Reparación do ADN
[editar | editar a fonte]As roturas do ADN de dobre febra (DSB) son danos citotóxicos que poden ser reparados ou ben por reparación pola vía da recombinación homóloga (HR) ou ben pola vía de unión de extremos non homólogos (NHEJ). A unión de extremos non homólogos, aínda que é máis rápida que a vía da recombinación homóloga, é menos exacta. O paso diverxente inicial entre as dúas vías é a resección dos extremos, e este paso é regulado por numerosos factores. En particular, BRCA1 e 53BP1 xogan un papel na determinación do balance entre as dúas vías.[5][6] A 53BP1 restrinxe a resección e promove a unión de extremos non homólogos.
