Missing exchange config between Shetland Islands (GB-ZET) and Great Britain (GB) #7269
Comments
As Shetland is an integral part of the UK, it is now essentially part of the GB grid. It would be nice to be able to break out subregional generation if the data is made available, but I believe the stop gap for now is to simply include Shetland as part of the GB file shape, just as is currently done with the Outer Hebrides. I suggested this approach in #7121 . Shetland's new Viking Wind Farm will already be included in the GB figures. |
Are we sure that the wind farm and the other generation is actually included in the main GB production? |
Not sure how to prove conclusively. However, Viking Wind Farm reports to Elexon via REMIT so I'm not sure why it would be treated differently to any other onshore wind farms in GB now that Shetland is on the National Grid.
Terravolt treats it the same as any other onshore wind farm: I believe the two remaining fossil power stations on Shetland (Lerwick and Sullom Voe) are both slated for closure now that the HVDC is in place. |
I thought they where only going to keep the plants operational but in a fallback capacity in case the DC links fails? |
Description
There are a new interconnector between these zones but we are missing a config for it.
It would be great if someone could add this!
