Top 5 ICW Fierce Females

Since I've done a post on the male ICW wrestlers and one on the WWE Divas I thought I might do one on the female ICW wrestlers. They are much hotter than the Divas after all and infinitely more bad-ass than they are.

5. Viper,
Viper's so pretty and sweet looking that you'd never expect her to be into kicking ass but she is and she does it well. Being billed as the most powerful female wrestler in the company she sure as hell shows it with her very impressive slams. I want one of her "death by snu snu" shirts.

4. Courtney,
I do love a stunning character with a bubbly personality and from what I've seen of Courtney so far she fits that style perfectly. She's one hell of a beautiful woman and her in-ring skills are impressive. She's a great wrestler that uses plenty of epic moves using her legs.

3. Kay Lee Ray,
Kay Lee is one of the most recognizable faces of ICW even before appearing on TNA and with good reason. She's very cute and likeable and a fan favourite. She has a very impressive core strength for someone of her build and her speed and agility seem to be matched by no one. It's hard to take your eyes off her when she builds up momentum.

2. Carmel,
Carmel is supposed to be a baddie and disliked by the crowd but a lot of people like her, me included. She sure can hold a crowd like no one else. She's pretty hot in a scary kinda way and she's one of the most impressive wrestlers in the ICW roster. Like Kay Lee Ray she has an impressive amount of core strength. She shows the most aggression I've seen from the female wrestlers and her skills are awesome. As far as I've seen she's the best at standing grapples and slams.

1. Nikki Storm
As far as I can tell this is an unpopular choice but... Nikki Storm is my favourite for a few reasons. She has an such an impressive physique and level of strength and is able to pull off the types of standing slams Carmel is capable of. She also has good speed and agility to match Kay Lee Ray and she is one hell of a technical wrestler. I also think she's quite cute despite her cocky character. All this is made more impressive knowing that she's only 5'1".

Top 5 Christmas Movies

At this time of year there's masses and masses of extremely crap movies on TV. It would appear that the only quality these movies need to make it on is to be set at Christmas time. You can tell most of them are filmed in LA during the summer as no attempt has been made at all to even decorate the sets. There are, however, a lot of good festive films too. This is my personal top 5.

5. Deck the Halls,
Deck the Halls is one of my favourite more recent movies. Everything about it feels like the movies I grew up with from the small town setting to the slapstick hijinks.

4. Jingle All The Way,
This was my favourite Christmas movie growing up. I remember wishing that Turbo-Man was a real toy I even liked Booster.

3. Elf,
Elf is one of the best modern comedies never mind Christmas movies. It just feels a bit weird if you watch it in the summer, I still have done though.

2. Hogfather,
I love Discworld novels and my love for the stories only got stronger seeing them in live action as I'm a massive movie/ TV geek. This is a great alternative take on the classic 'save Christmas' story.

1. Bad Santa,
Bad Santa has been my favourite Christmas movie since it's release in 2003. I was a typical Christmas hating grumpy teenager back then and loved the whole feck Christmas side of this movie. These days, thanks to my level-headedness that comes with maturing,  I love this movie for its redemption storyline.

Top 5 Christmas Songs

I thought I'd do some Christmas stuff since tis the season. This is my top 5 Christmas songs.

5. The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't let the Bells End)

Not only are the guitar solos spot on the song is actually pretty good for a Christmas song, it's classic Darkness. Plus they've got everyone from a choir to your gran singing "bell-end" over and over.

4. Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry

This has a great festive sound to it and I love songs that tell stories of war and historical events.

3. Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmas Time

This song is great for Christmas it really gets you in the mood for the season.

2. Slade - Merry Christmas Everyone

I've always loved the sound of this band and this song always triggers memories of a ten year old me playing air guitar and power sliding in my Gran's living room.

1. The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York

To be honest I wanted to be a bit different and not make this my number one but it sounds so good. Even without the lyrics the song is a beautiful piece of music.

Top 5 Favourite Female Comedians

This list can be taken both as a hot list and as a list of the female comedians I find funniest as both lists turn out to be in the same order. These girls have me glued to the screen every show they do both through their routine and their pretty faces. I'm weird in the way that -unlike most men- I get really attracted to a funny woman.

5. Nina Conti,
Nina Conti is a ventriloquist from London and she's one hell of a looker. I love how shy she seems when she doesn't have a puppet in her hands. The first time I seen her was on Russell Howard's Good News with Granny but Monk is so much better.

4. Katherine Ryan,
Katherine Ryan is a very funny Canadian comedian the lives in London. I love her in a skater dress, she looks cute as hell. She's a regular on panel shows. The first time I seen her was on QI and I've been looking out for ever since, even watching shows I don't normally care about because I've seen her name in the description.

3. Shappi Khorsandi,
Shappi Khorsandi is one of the best comedians around at the moment. She's another London based comedian. She's been one of  my favourite female comedians the longest and I've been watching her stand-up since 2008. I've even stopped for longer than anyone should on Loose Women because I've spotted her on it.

2. Andi Osho,
Until a couple of weeks ago Andi Osho was my number one, she's bloody gorgeous and hilarious. It wasn't long after I discovered Shappi Khorsandi that I first seen Andi Osho on Mock the Week. As with Shappi Khorsandi and Katherine Ryan, I like to keep an eye out for Andi Osho in TV shows.

1. Aisling Bea,
I don't know that much about Aisling Bea yet as I seen her for the first time on 8 Out of 10 Cats just two weeks ago. I do know however that she is a classic Irish beauty and every time she spoke she had me laughing out loud. I'll definitely be looking out for her in the future.

Top 5 ICW Wrestlers

With the ever increasing popularity of ICW and the recent(ish) release of ICW On Demand I thought I'd do a top five of the Glasgow based wrestling company's wrestlers.

5. Wolfgang,
Wolfgang is one of the crowd favourites and one of mine obviously. He's one of the largest and strongest of the wrestlers as well as having a very impressive amount of agility for a big man. One of his signature moves involves him picking up another wrestler and throwing them into the crowd.

4. Joe Coffey,
Joe Coffey is known as the 'Iron Man' of ICW hence his Iron Man style face paint. I've been a fan from before I was supposed to be, back when he was a bad guy in a tag team with Mark Coffey. I loved the way The Coffey Brothers looked like American wrestlers. Today he is truly awesome, being the epitome of metal as he comes to the ring playing Iron Man by Black Sabbath on the guitar. He's also always one of the best ICW wrestlers to watch.

3. Jack Jester,
Jack Jester is one of the most loved of all the ICW roster, he's one of the faces of the company. He's famous for his hardcore matches and his battles with Drew Galloway are legendary. His theme tune is also the music for ICW's shows online and on TV.

2. Grado,
What? Grado isn't number one? Grado is the other face of ICW and although I think he's awesome he's not my favourite. He's loved by all the ICW fans and for good reason. He is quintessentially Scottish, he is basically The Rock of ICW (The Scottish People's wrestler). He knows how to work a crowd, this can be seen at ICW shows as hundreds of metalheads sing along loudly and proudly to Madonna's Like A Prayer.

1. Mikey Whiplash,
Everyone that has read my blog regularly (if anyone) knows I love a good psychopath and Mikey Whiplash is one good psychopath. Another thing I love is cool face paint and that's another thing Mikey Whiplash has. He's also a great wrestler in general and he's always a pleasure to watch with him being able to utilize most wrestling styles in the ring. I loved the way he was when he was a good guy and love it even more that he's back as a dark character again. The way he came back to ICW (carried to the ring in a body bag and "brought back to life" by a ritual) was flawless. I do love a wrestler that has their opponents terrified.

My Top 5 interpretations of Hell in video games

As I've mentioned before I love a good video game that goes through Hell. The more disturbing it is, the better. Most games show Hell in the same way: pits of lava and networks of caves, as do my number 5 and 4. These games really know how to set the mood and make you wanna get out of that area... and fast.

5. Doom Series

The Doom series is one that shows the traditional Hell, lava, caves and lots of demons causing chaos for the hero. Most parts of Hell in these games, especially Doom 3 look like heavy metal album covers and that's awesome.

4. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Oblivion is a multi-layered Hell with many different looking realms, in the game we mostly see the realm of Mehrunes Dagon which is quite similar to the Hell in Doom. Vast oceans of lava fill this realm with islands filled with demons (or Daedra as they're called in this) dotted around. They house towers and forts filled with tortured souls and monsters.

3. Requiem: Avenging Angel

This is a PC game from 1999 and it has the first Hell from a video game that made an impression on me. I haven't played it for years and it still scars my mind. The walls, floors and ceilings are crafted from the compressed corpses of long-suffering souls with one or two popping out hear and there, still moving. Stained glass windows and stone carvings are dotted about showing scenes of death and torture and demons of all shapes and sizes roam the corridors, tearing at and eating the poor souls at the edges of the structures. Instead of rivers of lava, rivers of blood flow through this Hell. The worst part of all this is the soundtrack to these levels is the groans and screams of suffering and torture.

2. The Darkness

This one isn't the traditional depiction of Hell. It's known as the Otherworld and is home to millions of tormented and twisted souls, both good and evil. This hell is a never ending network of trenches and tunnels where every war ever waged are all being fought forever and all at once. Demons keep anyone trying to escape in and tortured souls can be found all over strapped to horrific medieval devices.

1. Silent Hill Series

Everyone that loves these games knows that dread feeling as the old siren sounds and the world starts to crumble away around them, leaving a deep impenetrable darkness. This Hell really fills you with a sense of loneliness and fear. It's basically a decayed version of the world the games set in. The walls and floors are replaced with rusted metal grates and panels. Corpses are strung up in a gruesome ritualistic manner and demons sit, waiting in the darkness for anyone dumb enough to get too close.

There you have it: 5 very different yet equally traumatizing versions of Hell. Excuse me as I go to my happy place...

My Top 5 favourite characters from The Walking Dead

I'm a fan of The Walking Dead TV show as you can tell (The Walking DeadTop 5 women of The Walking Dead). This show was one of the few TV shows I've actually watched from the day it was first aired which is a rare thing from me in these days of Sky plus, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Most of the time, even if I'm interested in a new show, I'll wait until the whole thing has been on and binge watch it. The Walking Dead, however, has me tuning in every week. Here is a list of my favourite good-guy characters from the show. It's probably a bit more unique than most but favourite is probably the nation's favourite.

5. Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun),

Glenn has been one of my favourites from the beginning as he has always been a survivor. He knocked a few other people off this list though after the torture he experienced at the hands of The Governor and Merle. This scene showed not only how tough Glenn had gotten but also how much balls he had. He also might be the smartest of the group as he's the only one I've seen putting on armour.

4. Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson),

Hershel may have started out as a minor annoyance for the group as he was an over-protective father that was struggling to come to terms with what was going on. We find out later that he's a kind and brave man and after he grows an epic beard he goes from defenseless old man to a bad-ass that doesn't even get fazed when he looses his leg. He always offers words of wisdom, he's the Morgan Freeman of the show. His highlight was locking himself in with the sick during the episodes with the virus outbreak.

3. Michonne (Danai Gurira),

Michonne is full-on awesome, she's basically a mysterious ninja with cool-ass dreads and a katana. She also happens to be a very beautiful woman. She starts showing a softer side as her friendship with Carl and Rick blossoms. She doesn't loose her edge though, always ready to jump into action and slice up some zombies, cannibals and bandit types.

2. Tyreese Williams (Chad L. Coleman),

I love this guy, he's the type of person you want to have with you in a post-apocalypse situation. He finds it easy to still hold on to his humanity but can also kill if needs be. He has a stare that is somehow seen too much yet still shows compassion and pity. We know he's the old school version of a hero: avoiding violence against other humans until you threaten someone weaker than you, especially if that person is a child, then you've had it. He's not one to be messed with either as on more than one occasion we've seen him successfully beat down large numbers of undead that most people would have retreated from (once with his bare hands).

1. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus),

Daryl is probably the most popular character on the show and probably the only one that would stop masses of people from watching the show in the event of his death. It's easy to see why, he seems to hold the same values as Tyreese but he's not as damaged as he is. He is also a survivor like Glenn, more than likely thanks to having to survive in the wild since he was a kid since his dad was always drunk and Merle was always in jail. I'd say the big appeal of Daryl is his ability to have a don't-give-a-fuck attitude without coming across as a dick. He seems to always be cool as hell and level headed (unless he looses Rick, Carol or one of the younger members of the group). He's the strong silent type and constantly disappears without word then returning with food. Also like Tyreese, never threaten a kid in front of him or you might get a crossbow bolt in the eye.

Top 5 women of The Walking Dead

Like most TV shows these days, The Walking Dead is full of attractive people and as I am a straight male I like the ladies of the show. They are a large bonus of watching this show as most of them are extremely hot. It was actually a lot harder to chose for this list than for my list of favourite character which will be coming soon.

5. Lauren Cohan,

Now this girl will probably be at the top of most peoples lists as Maggie is the only character on the show that's been sexulised. Even though she is a beautiful and sexy woman and is pretty strong and bad-ass (which makes her more attractive), she isn't the girl for the top of my list.

4. Emma Bell,

Emma Bell played Amy, Andrea's sister and she is definitely one of the characters I find most attractive. The only reason she isn't higher on the list is due to her being dead very early in the series.

3. Christian Serratos,

Christian Serratos (Rosita) is the extremely good looking and extremely mysterious new member of the group. She joined with Eugene and Abraham and I haven't noticed her saying much yet which is weird since I'm mesmerized every time she's on screen. She seems to be able to handle herself which is why I like her so much.

2. Alanna Masterson,

Alanna Masterson caught my attention the second she showed up on screen. She plays Tara who's kinda like a cute lost puppy. She looks up to Glenn and Maggie like they're her older siblings but I don't think they've noticed yet.

1. Emily Kinney,

Maggie's little sister Beth is my favourite girl in this show and I think she always will be. She's a fantastic looking girl. Beth is also pretty awesome as she's very capable and pretty optimistic considering whats going on. She seems to always say the right thing to cheer someone up and is genuinely lovely.

My Top 5 Movies Based on Video Games

When it comes to ranking stuff I normally need to have a good few hours thinking about it. With top 5 movies based on video games though, I was just asked and knew almost instantly what my top 5 are and in what order they where in. So here's my top 5.

5. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,

This movie would have been number one. I mean Jake Gyllenhaal is absolutely perfect as the prince, the parkour scenes are flawless and I've yet to watch something with either Gemma Arterton or Ben Kingsley that I haven't liked. Alas it is only fifth thanks to the decision of replacing the cool zombie dudes with -still cool but not cool enough- ninja types. Other than this the movie is great and keeps true to the game most of the time. They also raised the bar for video game movies with this.

4. Resident Evil,

They succeeded in mimicking the first game with the first Resident Evil movie. The survival part wasn't there but it did look fantastic. I was in awe the first time you see the licker. Milla Jovovich is always awesome and this movie introduced me to one of my favourite actresses: Michelle Rodriguez.

3. Silent Hill,

They main reason this is higher than Resident Evil is thanks to me enjoying the games more. I don't care that they didn't have much of a story in this, I loved seeing the hell version on the big screen and the atmosphere of the games was captured perfectly. I also had a bit of a nerd boner when the Pyramid Head showed up. They also got the nurses perfect.
...Oh and Sean Bean doesn't die for a change!

2. Hitman,

I know not a lot of people would include this in their list but I loved this movie almost as much as I loved the games. I am a massive fan of these games and was extremely excited when I heard this movie was coming out. Timothy Olyphant was fantastic as Agent 47. I had to restrain myself from clapping during the scene where 47 killed the guy in the toilet. The bit where he walked down the hall looked exactly like the game, he even had the walk perfect. Even though there was no need for her, I loved Olga Kurylenko in this she looked fantastic and made a great sidekick.

1. Doom,

This movie deviates from the game too much and I think that's why people don't like it as much. The movie is similar to Ghosts of Mars where in the games the scientists accidentally open a portal to actual Hell. This is one of my favourite movies never mind one of my favourite video game movies. I personally think they done amazingly at making a limited story into a movie. Karl Urban and Dwayne Johnson are awesome in this as straight up soldiers too and some of the one liners are equal to the action movies of the 80s. The first person view is one awesome bit of film, it really looks like Doom 3.

Top 5 WWE Divas

I used to watch WWE back when it was WWF in the late 80s and early 90s, I didn't watch it again until the late 90s then stopped again until 2013 so my knowledge of the whole thing is a bit scattered at best. I do, however, have a top 5 hot list of Divas.

5. Trish Stratus: I'm not normally one for girls like Trish Stratus but she sure as hell stands out from the massive amount of other blonde female wrestlers. She's still as hot now as she was years ago. She was always pretty impressive to watch too. It was always fun watching her kick ass.

4. Mickie James: I don't know much about this Diva but I do know she's pretty damn hot. Loved her style, especially the skirt, and her bubbly attitude was always attractive.

3. Lita: I've always thought Lita was amazing. She was the first female wrestler I enjoyed watching and not just cause she was hot. She was also one of my first tastes of an alternative woman and amongst my first crushes.

2. Paige: This girl isn't only hot for a Diva, she's also one of the hottest women I've ever seen. Her look is pretty cool and sexy too though her ring persona is mighty annoying. It seems like they are trying to reach the dumb teenage girls that spend all their time on facebook with her. Saying that she is fun to watch wrestle and I normally don't pay attention to the Diva matches due to them being short and uneventful most of the time.

1. AJ Lee: I love a woman that stands out and not many more stand out more than AJ Lee does, in general never mind in wrestling. She's cute as hell and not just because of her short stature and skipping ring persona. She's very pretty and, as she's a wrestler, has a fantastic body. One of my favourite things about her is her punk inspired style. She's also very impressive to watch considering she's only 5'2".

Top 5 Buffy The Vampire Slayer Villains (vampire free version)

Due to there being so many bad guys in Buffy I decided to do two top five villain lists. The being the second one. As I have previously done a Top 5 for vampires. This had the potential to take days to come up with but I came to a conclusion pretty darn fast.

5. Glorificus (Glory): Glory would have been higher up on my list but I deducted points for her not looking scary and being super attractive. That is partly the reason she made it onto the list too though. She looks so unimposing, always looking like an attractive woman in a tight dress yet she is probably the most powerful enemy Buffy came up against as she was an actual ancient Goddess. She was also pretty damn crazy and I do love a good crazy character.

4. The Gentlemen: The may have only appeared in one episode but they sure as hell made an impression on us. They made it on the list for being the creepiest of Buffy's enemies. They are a species of demon that travel by floating and they are completely silent. Their creepiness is on par with Slender Man who resembles their leader, or at least the guy who appeared to be their leader, it was hard to tell.

3. Dark Willow: After a main character dies (I don't want to spoil too much for those who haven't seen Buffy yet) Willow looses her mind and lets herself be overcome by grief and dark magic. She then hunts down the murder, attacking all that get in her way, including her friends. During this rampage she causes a lot of damage, kills in cold blood and eventually tries to destroy the world. There was something very cool about Willow being a powerful villain.

2. Adam: Adam was pretty damn cool and I do love a Frankenstein style monster (Adam was the name of Frankenstein's Monster by the way). He was part human, part demon and part machine and was created by The Initiative to be the ultimate bio-weapon. From the moment he woke he was uncontrollable and became kinda like a cross between the Nemesis from Resident Evil and the Borg from Star Trek as he tried to wipe out all previous life and tried to create a new 'perfect' race modeled on himself. He clearly had a god complex.

1. Caleb: There's not much creepier than a creepy priest, now take that creepy priest and make him a super powered serial killer working for a god-like creature calling itself the First Evil. Caleb could read minds, he seemed indestructible and had immense strength. He didn't even break a sweat when he first defeated Buffy and her friends, Spike and Faith included.
