A new adaptation of Dumas' classic tale is set to screen on the BBC

Alexandre Dumas (Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie; 1802–1870). French writer, known for his historical novels of high adventure. Translated into nearly 100 languages, these have made him one of the most read French authors in history. Many of his novels, including The Count of Monte Cristo, The 3 Musketeers, 20 Years After, and The Vicomte de Bragelonne: 10 Years Later were originally published as serials. His last novel, unfinished, was The Knight of Sainte-Hermine (The Last Cavalier).
