Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still. (Act 2, Scene 1, 33-34) -Macbeth was having a hallucination of a dagger in front of him with the handle towards his hand signifying that it would be him that kills King Duncan and achieves his ambition of becoming King. The prophecy affected to the point that he had hallucinations.

The real Macbeth ended up killing King Duncan in a battle during the 11th century. He ruled for about 14 years.
