On my coming here I apologize for expressing not in French but in English. I have a question about abbreviation for "interferon" in French. When I found the Kallel's (2005) paper,[1] I noticed that at the first page, they made a table of abbreviation for some terms in that paper, including "INF-γ interferon-γ." Througout the paper they really used this abbreviation, INF-γ. However, in all the immunology textbooks, abbreviation for interferon is "IFN." First I suspected that in French they do. But here, in French Wikipedia, they use "IFN." For the interferon, in Entrez Gene database the official symbol of interferon-γ is "IFNG."[2] Can we think that there is some self-righteous in this paper or in this journal?
I will not sign in French Wikipedia, but in English Wikipedia, my signiture is:
