I just want to know what you guy opinion on Aldo are because I notice when people discuss Top 5 GOAT or even Top 10 sometimes, i notice aldo is often left out and i was just wonder what the opinion on him is arpund here and wether you guy find him overrated or not? I personally have him number five just behind jones. HBU?

How could you possibly have an account from 2010 and not know how highly thought of Aldo is on these boards?

Seems like the majority of Sherdoggers consider him #1 p4p.

Though, we all know Jones is easily p4p #1.

He's the best fighter in MMA and it's very rarely pointed out by the very people who are in charge of promoting him.

He's underrated if you ask me.

If anything he is the most underrated champ

hes held the belt longer than any current champ now, whilst beating multiple contenders and a champion from the division above him

No.

He is the most skilled fighter in MMA.

Only his teammate Barao and the young dynamo Mighty Mouse are close to as well-rounded and technically sound in all areas of the fight. Weidman and the hungry beast Jones are also fairly close though.

b-b-but... HE DOESNT FINISH PEEPOL!!!1

>when Edgar, alone, is a better win than 99% of all MMA fighters

He's underrated, he has the best defence I've ever seen used in MMA and he can beat anyone he wants. His striking is great, his movement is great, his wrestling is great and he has world class BJJ. He is undeniably the best in the world.

Yes, the reigning featherweight champion who has never lost in his weight class is overrated.

Once again i think he is number 5 all time and number 2 p4p i just want to know why allot of people seem to not agree with me.
because they feel that he is somehow "worse" or less dynamic for not finishing everybody as much as he used to when in fact he has grown to almost completely outclass a much higher standard of competition in more or less every facet of the game in a way distinctly unique from that of, say, the legendary Georges St-Pierre.

Nowadays, Aldo fights on the feet when he could also take down (most of) and guard pass then control (all of) his opponents-- because he chooses to.

His resume is definitely overrated. Fights in a weak division and shouldn't be top 5 p4p

No, Aldo is not overrated. Honestly making GOAt lists is kind of silly, when the sport is 20 years old.

Because he basically had fought in the minor leagues other than a couple fights.

You're crazy if you think he's higher than any of these all time

He fights to the level of his competition at times, otherwise, Top 3 P4P

Cub Swanson. Urijah Faber. Chan Sung Jung. Kenny Florian. Frankie Edgar. Ricardo Lamas.
