I have a 2019 Q70 3.7 with only 50k, and it runs great. I parked for two days and went to start it, and all it would do was turn over and not start. I replaced the battery in case it had low voltage, but that did nothing. I'm about to have it towed to the mechanic, but it would be great if I could do it myself. I'm not sure where to start. Any ideas out there? Has this happened to anyone? Thanks.

Tap on the starter trick? Might be hard to do on this car as I'm not sure where it's located but I've saved a few cars with a tap of a mallet on the starter hah.

It turns over fine... it won't start.

Sorry, I misread that as basically it's responding to the key press but not engaging the motor - apologies.

If the starter is fine then the only things left are fuel and ignition. You can try to look at the FSM (linked in my signature under the FAQs) to see if there is anything in there about troubleshooting this issue.

First thing to try is popping the airbox covers and shooting something combustible down the barrels. Brakleen or carb cleaner are good, don't use starting fluid (ether can blow s#it up if it backfires, and it also evaporates too quickly for a car with dual intakes). Give each barrel about a 5-second shot, then crank it. If it starts then you know you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, put a test light on all the engine-related fuses in the IPDM. That's located next to the battery in the back-right of the engine box. It's a bit of a PITA to access, but you'll be peeved at yourself if you tow it to the shop for a blown fuse.

Not that a busted vehicle is very merry, but Merry Christmas anyway.

Thank you! I will try that. I will say I could smell gas when it was cranking

FSM = Factory Service Manual. The ones here only go up to '15 for your ride, but there weren't many changes for the series going back to the M's. A lot of what's in the '15 FSM would still apply to your '19.

Problem solved!!!!! I let the car sit for a week or two, just went out, and it fired right up. I gave it a couple of 100mph rips, shut it off, let it sit, and it fired right back up did a couple more 100mph rips with zero issues. Started no problem several more times. I don't get it... If this is going to be an electrical gremlin car, I may have to get rid of it as much as I love it only 50k on it. It does sit a lot as I drive my camry for work
