Fijiana 7s new find Vika Nakacia is thankful to have been able to come away with a successful debut despite the many first-time distractions.
Competing at both the SVNS Dubai and Cape Town 7s tournaments, the 26-year-old from Yasawa said she is thankful for many firsts on a good tour.
“I thank the coaches for their selections, it was a good first leg for me despite the results,” Nakacia said.
“The lights and playing for the first time in front of a big stadium was something scary and exciting.”
Nakacia said despite the strong opponents and the large stage, it was the white jersey that gave her confidence.
“The white jersey reminded me why I was there.”
Nakacia said for her it was the speed of the game that surprised her and she was learning her best to adapt accordingly.
“The game is really fast on the big stage, there is no time to waste and no time to be slow.”
“We have to work hard on being on top of it all the time.”
“We are beginning work to the next leg now, I hope I do enough to get selected.”
After two tournaments on the SVSNS World Series, Nakacia has totaled five tries in nine matches.
