Dress made of plastic bags

Hello, I've been working on some projects to make some of my gear waterproof, I'm making a rain skirt and also working on making a backpack waterproof.

Tom Dey. Used plastic packing supplies, bubble wrap, drop cloths, aquarium tubing, and soda bottle bottoms. This costume piece utilizes a wide variety of discarded plastic and industrial materials to recreate the opulence of Marie Antoinette's style, essentially using low class media to evoke high class materials.

STILL working on this outfit, missed the deadline for this years Junk 2 Funk Trash Fashion Show in Portland (oh well, NEXT year ... ), but am not giving up! Now I am making plastic bag flowers and then sewing them to the bodice. I ran out of white plastic bags awhile ago (since I am trying really hard to bring my own), so I had to depend on the kindness of strangers and friends, who dug into their stashes and left bags of bags hanging from the doorknob of my studio. I think I will have used…
