I made my first fabric purchase this year. Yes, it's Tilda again and yes, it was pricey because it is a new line, but I needed a perk.
I bought the smallest pack available, fat 8ths plus 1/2 yard of my favorite fabric.
I finished quilting the baby quilt last night but haven't trimmed it yet. That will happen today and I'll find a binding fabric and hopefully get it finished.
I was just about out of the cookies in my freezer so it was time to bake something else. I love this cherry topped cake so it was my choice to bake. It looks like someone tested it..........
The recipe is here.

Your favorite Tilda print colors echo the baby quilt colors :) I can well understand needing a perk with the string of cold grey days.
Oooh Tilda & yummies--what a delicious post, Wanda...;))
My hand (R) got re-injured trying to open a mayonnaise jar--i know it was a stupid thing to do!! hug, Julierose
That Tilda bundle is beautiful. Love the yardage - the resting girls, the kitty - adorable! The recipe for the cake looks pound cake-ish and delicious.
The Tilda fabric is so pretty. I was looking at some new fabrics and they were $14.50 a yard! Yikes! The little cakes look yummy. I really like the pan you baked them in. I used to work at a factory that made Baker's Secret bakeware and have collected pans for a long time. I like to bake in old pans; the gauge of the metal is heavier, and they are not coated. I did buy a new non-stick 9 x 13 a few years ago, and I have to say I really like the pan. It has a snap-on lid too. Whenever I am at a yard sale or flea market, I will still look for a deal on an old pan even though I have too many to fit in a cupboard.
That new fabric is really pretty - I can see why you treated yourself! And that baby quilt is really wonderful -- have fun finishing it. My MIL made that cherry topped cake - it was one of her favorites. Happy Valentine's Day!!
A dose of fabric is just what the quilt doctor ordered! Thanks for the recipe.
Love that fabric - yes we need something new now and then!
You couldn’t have selected a better line of fabric to ‘kick off’ the new year. I look forward to what you will create with them.
And your little cakes are as delicious as they look they were one of my favorites when I could have gluten and sugar. And still remember how delicious they are.
Congrats on being nearly finished with the charming and cuddly baby quilt!
Love your Tilda purchase and look forward to seeing what you make with it.
I appreciate the recipe! Thank you!
Hugs!
I love the soft colors of your new fabrics.
Beautiful Tilda fabrics . Enjoy playing with them.
I love the precision of the triangles and rectangles in this piece. The backing and binding really set this one off. And my oh my your Tilda collection is so lovely . Great Saturday post !
