The Anaethalion knorri, one of the smaller fish of the Solnhofen lagerstatte, is rarely found in good condition. This example is not the biggest but quality wise it might be one of the best.

Beautiful well preserved skull with rostrum of a Saurichthys deperditus in original matrix. The Saurichthys is characterised by its elongated body and long slender but fragile body. Most Saurichthys are small but this specimen with its 31 cm - 12.2" skull must have been a fierce predator.

The fossil represents a mass mortality plate containing several fossil fish of the species Gosiutichthys parvus as found in the Green River Formation in the south west of Wyoming. The mass presence of these fish leads to think that the fish where trapped in a mud puddle that ultimately dried out. Even while the preservation is very different compared to the fish from the Fossil Lake deposites there is no doubt these fish originate from the Green River formation. The fish were found in the Lake Gosiute deposits. This plate is the biggest section we ever recovered and has fish on both sides.

Very good quality Edestus shark jaw with slab of original matrix in which the jaw was found. The Edestus, also called coal shark or scissor tooth shark, is a very rare Pennsylvanian age shark species found at high debt in coal mines in Illinois. Each tooth has a triangular crown with large serrations. The roots are quite unique as they appear as long arms with the crown at the end. The Edestus shark had an upper and lower tooth row that they could use in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. From the Eotriassic layers from Madagascar many fish species have been described. The smaller fish is this Australosomus merlei very recognisable by its typical shale alignment. This Australosomus is both positive and negative and has incredibly detailed fossilisation. It is rare to find this species complete. In most cases part of the head or the tail is missing.

This is by far the best ever Bobasatrania mahavavica we had in our hands. This species is particular as it survived the Permian/Triassic extinction where as most of the bony fish in this formation are just Triassic. This unique piece is both positive and negative.

Only very rarely is skeletal tissue seen preserved in prehistoric sharks, and definitely as wel preserved as in this Orthacanthus. Shark skeletons are composed of cartilage, which typically decays before it can fossilise. This specimen from the famous Rheinland Pflaz Lagerstätte in Germany exhibits amazing texture quality over the whole skeleton. Sharks fossils from this location are mostly know with a off white bone preservation, a result of exposure to extreme heat during the fossilisation process. This skeleton has been fossilised and preserved in optimal conditions and has the much higher quality black tissue which contrasts extremely well with the multicolour shale. One straight spine is seen, attached to the shoulder girdle, and even more exceptional is the presence of the tooth battery. Over 245 million years old, this stunning specimen is exceptionally well articulated. Orthacanthus was the terror of freshwater swamps in both Europe and North America until it became extinct 225 million years ago, Orthacanthus was long and streamlined, which gave it a very elegant snake-like swimming action. Its powerful jaws were lined with double-fanged teeth. Sharks originated in the Devonian seas and continue to reign the world waters up to this day.

This is a fossil fish from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. Mioplosus is one of the more uncommon species from this formation. It's nicely centered on a natural slab. Mioplosius is a genus of large, extinct fish that lived through the Eocene epoch.
