A piezoelectric device for an ink jet print head that has a greater displacement at a low drive voltage. The ink-jet recording head includes a vibration plate, on which is mounted one or more piezoelectric devices that change the volumes of pressure chambers upon application of a voltage. The device is mounted at least on one face of a pressure chamber substrate that is to be filled with ink. Such piezoelectric device includes a second piezoelectric layer having a piezoelectric constant g of a constant value or higher; and a first piezoelectric layer having a dielectric constant of a specific value or higher. An inkjet printing system includes a replaceable printhead having plural nozzles for ejecting ink droplets, a service station for capping and wiping the plural nozzles, and a replaceable ink cartridge housing a supply of ink and further including a cartridge memory for recording service station-control data. A processor is coupled to the ink cartridge memory and is responsive to service station-control data read from the cartridge memory to derive a service station control value. According to the present invention, a rearview mirror comprises a first substrate having a front surface and a rear surface, a reflective coating disposed on a surface of the first substrate, and an electronic circuit component secured to the rear surface of the first substrate. The mirror element may be an electrochromic mirror element comprising a transparent second substrate positioned in front of the first substrate. The electronic component secured to the rear surface may be a component of a drive circuit for the electrochromic mirror element. The rearview mirror element may further comprise electrically conductive tracings provided on the rear surface of the first substrate electrically coupled to the electrical component. The tracings may be used to electrically couple the drive circuit to the electrodes of the electrochromic mirror element. The present invention is directed to radiation curable and jettable ink compositions and particularly to such compositions which exhibit enhanced elongation, when cured at low doses, and are advantageously used, for example, in digital inkjet printing. The compositions include a polyfunctional component and a monofunctional monomer, and may optionally include an additional monofuctional component and / or chain transfer agent. The compositions have a viscosity at 25° C. of not greater than about 70 cP and are radiation curable to form a cured ink having an elongation of between about 40 and about 150%. Methods and systems for decorating at least one bevel surface or other surface of a laminated flooring are described. The bevel surface can be decorated by non-transfer printing such as digital printing. The digital printer can be an ink jet printer such as a piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DOD) printer that allows a color and pattern to be placed on the bevel surface that matches the print design (décor pattern or face design) of the laminated flooring. Other devices are provided such as a device that takes a picture of or scans an image of the print design, and modifies the taken picture or the scanned image so that the edge pattern thereof matches with an edge pattern of the print design.

A printing apparatus having an array of printheads arranged along a single printhead axis, and capable of printing images and a coating layer on the substrate during a single printing operation. The coating layer can comprise a specialized printing fluid such as a layer of substantially white ink. The apparatus can perform a pre-coat printing operation, in which the coating layer is deposited first on the substrate, and the image is then printed over the coating layer. Solid free form fabrication techniques such as fused deposition modeling and three-dimensional printing are used to create a dental restoration. Three-dimensional printing comprises inkjet printing a binder into selected areas of sequentially deposited layers of powder. Each layer is created by spreading a thin layer of powder over the surface of a powder bed. Instructions for each layer may be derived directly from a CAD representation of the restoration. The area to be printed is obtained by computing the area of intersection between the desired plane and the CAD representation of the object. All the layers required for an aesthetically sound restoration can be deposited concurrently slice after slice and sintered / cured simultaneously. A printing apparatus, having a housing in which a thermal transfer printhead station and an ink jet printhead station are mounted, is used for printing indica on a medium, such as tickets, tags and the like. The thermal transfer printhead station is used for printing a monochrome colored indicia on the print medium and the ink jet printhead station is used for printing a single monochrome colored indicia or a plurality of monochrome colored indicia on the print medium. A decoupling station is mounted between the thermal transfer printhead station and the ink jet printhead station for accumulating print medium therein. A sensor is associated with the decoupling station for sensing the amount of print medium accumulated therein. In use, the print medium is passed through the thermal transfer printhead station and a monochrome colored indicia is printed thereon. Thereafter, the print medium is accumulated in the decoupling station and when a predetermined amount of print medium is accumulated therein, the print medium is passed to the ink jet printhead station and a plurality of monochrome colored indicia may be printed thereon or a single monochrome colored indicia is printed thereon. The printed-on medium is thereafter ejected from the printing apparatus. A die cutting or severing structure may be provided for die cutting or severing the print medium.

An inkjet printing ink having properties of crosslinking and being fixed on a fiber by heating, characterized in that in an ink composition consisting of (A) a pigment dispersion having a mean particle diameter of 200 nm or less and a maximum particle diameter of 500 nm or less, consisting of a pigment, a water-soluble pigment dispersant and a hydrophilic solvent, (B) a water-soluble fixing agent, and (C) a crosslinking agent, the water-soluble pigment dispersant in (A) is a specific emulsion polymer neutralized by a basic substance; the water-soluble fixing agent (B) is the one having a crosslinking functional group; and the crosslinking agent (C) is the one having a functional group that crosslinks the crosslinking functional group of the water-soluble pigment dispersant in (A) with the crosslinking functional group of the water-soluble fixing agent (B) at a temperature of 100° C. or more.

Ammunition, such as shotshells used in waterfowl hunting, have indicia applied to substantially all of the external surface to reduce glare normally a problem in conventional ammunition. The indicia, such as a camouflage pattern, is applied either through the use of inkjet printing directly on the shotshell surface or through the application of a heat transfer sleeve to which the indicia has been previously applied. An ink circulation system for use in an inkjet printing apparatus includes an inkjet printhead, a supply subtank for containing a supply of ink for the inkjet printhead and a return subtank for containing a surplus of ink not used by the inkjet printhead. The supply subtank is coupled with the return subtank and with the inkjet printhead via a first fluid path. A second fluid path couples the return subtank with the supply subtank for circulating the ink from the return subtank back to the supply subtank. This way a closed ink circulation path is realized.
