CARACTERSTICAS
El grabador digital de 4 canales le permite grabar la seal de 4 cmaras diferentes para circuito cerrado de TV, y a la
vez monitorear va Internet.
El video se almacenar en un disco duro (NO incluido) en formato .avi, con una resolucin CIF (288x352), con
interfase Ethernet para conectar el grabador a la red, 4 entradas con conector tipo BNC y salida para el monitor.
En el panel frontal cuenta con indicadores de encendido y actividad de grabacin u operacin del disco duro;
adems incluye controles para adelantar y atrasar la grabacin, reproduccin, pausa y grabacin, botones para
seleccionar la cmara que se desea observar en el monitor, tambin se puede controlar por medio de un control
remoto.

CAPTULO 1: INTRODUCCIN
NOTAS IMPORTANTES
El DVR debe ser operado solamente con el tipo de fuente de alimentacin indicado en la etiqueta.
No instale el DVR cerca de fuentes de calor tales como radiadores, registros de calefaccin, estufas u otros dispositivos que puedan producir
calor.
Limpie el CCTV-960 solamente con un pao seco.
No obstruya las aberturas de ventilacin.
No use ni almacene este equipo en lugares donde existan goteras o salpicaduras de agua. Puede causar un mal funcionamiento o choque
elctrico.
No coloque objetos pesados sobre el equipo, ni sobre sus accesorios.
El DVR es un equipo para uso en interiores.
Hay riesgo de electrocucin si una persona no autorizada o calificada abriera la carcasa del DVR.
Evite la instalacin del DVR en un lugar sometido a fuertes movimientos o vibraciones.
No utilice ni instale el DVR bajo la luz solar directa.
Asegrese de que hay una ventilacin adecuada alrededor del DVR.
No inserte ningn objeto en los orificios de ventilacin.
No exponga el equipo a temperaturas extremas.
Compruebe que la electricidad en el lugar donde quiere instalar la unidad de DVR es estable. La electricidad inestable puede provocar averas
en la unidad o daarla gravemente.
No exponga el equipo ni sus accesorios a polvo, humo o vapor.
Para desconectar el equipo, jale de la clavija y retrela del contacto. Nunca jale el cable de alimentacin para desconectarlo.

Funciones:
Visualizacin de 1 canal:
Mueva el cursor hasta el canal deseado y
haga doble clic izquierdo para visualizar en
pantalla completa.
Visualizacin de multicmaras:
En la visualizacin 1 canal haga doble clic
sobre la pantalla para ir a la vista multicmaras.
2.6 CONEXIONES
2.6.1 Conexin de cmaras
Conecte la salida de video de las cmaras al conector de entrada en la parte posterior del DVR. La interface de
entrada es un conector BNC.
2.6.2 Conexiones de audio
2.6.2.1 Entrada
La interface de entrada de audio es un jack estndar RCA.
La seal de audio se debe de alejar de fuentes de interferencia como campos magnticos o elctrico muy fuertes.
2.6.2.1 Salida
Si requiere de una salida de audio, utilice un adaptador BNC a RCA y conecte a la fuente de sonido externa.
2.6.3 Conexin de monitor o pantalla
Conecte una pantalla a la salida BNC o use un monitor en la entrada VGA, utilice un adaptador BNC a RCA y
conecte a la fuente de video externa.
2.6.4 Conexin de alimentacin
Conecte el adaptador de corriente en la entrada de alimentacin que se encuentra en el panel trasero.
2.6.5 Conexin a red Ethernet
Conecte un cable de red al conector RJ-45 para obtener acceso remoto va Internet o ethernet.
2.6.6 Conexin USB
En el puerto USB puede conectar unidades de respaldo como memorias USB.
2.6.7 Conexin de cmaras PTZ o PT
De acuerdo a su polo inserte los cables RS485 de la cmara en las entradas RX y TX. Ms informacin en el
apartado Conectar cmaras PTZ o PT pgina 15.

En caso de ser necesario use adaptadores (con conector hembra RCA a conector macho BNC) en las
conexiones de audio y video.

Si se activ la alarma, esta durar 10 segundos despus de cerrarla o abrirla, de lo contrario esta seguir activa
hasta que regrese al estado configurado (N.O. o N.C.).
Despus de esto, el sistema mostrar la vista de los 4 canales en vivo, a continuacin un ejemplo de visualizacin:

- Apagado:
NO apague el DVR en condicin de grabacin normal con el interruptor de encendido y apagado.
1. Si el CCTV-960 se encuentra grabando presione el botn REC del DVR o del control remoto.
2. Aparecer una ventana que le preguntar si est seguro de abortar la grabacin,
confirme seleccionando OK.
3. Una vez que desaparecen los iconos de estado de grabacin y el LED indicador
deja de parpadear, haga clic derecho con el mouse y seleccione la opcin EXIT.
4. Seleccione SHUTDOWN y apague el equipo cuando se le indique.
Si el DVR no est en proceso de grabacin puede realizar nicamente los pasos 3 y 4.

TIP: Puede usar el scroll del ratn para intercalar rpidamente entre el modo 1 canal y multicmaras. Para realizar esta
accin deber encontrarse en modo multicmaras y seleccionar un canal con doble clic, una vez que ingrese al modo 1
canal deslice el scroll para hacer switch entre visualizaciones.
Tambin se puede seleccionar una cmara presionando las teclas de nmero 1-4 del panel frontal del DVR.
Estado de canal:
El estado del canal se muestra en la esquina superior derecha de la vista de cada canal. A continuacin se presenta
el significado de los iconos:

SIGNIFICADO
Indica deteccin de movimiento. Aparece cuando las cmaras perciben movimientos.
Audio habilitado. Si una salida de audio est conectada, se puede monitorear el sonido al mismo
tiempo que el video.
Audio deshabilitado.

3.2.1 TECLADO
El teclado se despliega en los campos de texto donde es necesario introducir datos.
El teclado tiene 2 modos de uso: Letras minsculas/ maysculas y nmeros/smbolos.

MULTI SCREEN: Seleccione esta opcin para elegir una de las dos modalidades vlidas para la
visualizacin, Single Channel (1 canal) o Four channel (multi-cmaras).

PLAYBACK (Reproduccin de grabaciones): Este men ingresa al reproductor de grabaciones. Par ms

BACKUP (Exportar grabaciones): Permite exportar videos grabados en formato .avi a un medio de
almacenamiento externo (Memoria USB). Par ms informacin consulte la pgina 23.
PTZ: Abre el men de operacin de la cmara PTZ seleccionada. A continuacin se explican las principales
instrucciones para poder operar una cmara con este men.

3. Segn sus necesidades seleccione el mismo valor de Baud rate (Velocidad de baudios) tanto en la cmara
como en el DVR, las opciones son: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600.
4. En el campo PTZ Speed seleccione la velocidad con la que operar la cmara, las opciones son: 1 al 16.
5. Seleccione la Direccin (Address) que tiene establecida la cmara PTZ o PT.
Si desea conectar otra cmara simplemente seleccione una direccin y canal diferente.

*State: Esta columna muestra el status de la alarma, NORMAL indica que se encuentra en espera de
actividades y ALARM seala que est activada.
- LOG View (Historial de grabaciones): En esta seccin puede observar el historial de eventos realizados
en el DVR, adems podr abrir y visualizar los videos para una mejor consulta.

Esta opcin apaga el CCTV-960
de modo seguro.
Cancel:
Regresa a la Barra de herramientas.

Al formatear el disco duro NO se perder ningn tipo de ajuste como: configuracin de grabacin, usuarios y
contraseas establecidas en el CCTV-960, nicamente se eliminarn los videos y datos extras contenidos en el disco
duro.
3.5 GRABACIN
IMPORTANTE: Para poder iniciar con la grabacin es fundamental que haya instalado y formateado el disco
duro, de lo contrario slo estar limitado a la visualizacin de cmaras.
En pantalla se mostrarn 4 iconos de acuerdo al estado de grabacin de cada canal:

Presione repetidamente el botn derecho del mouse o la tecla ENTER del DVR o control remoto hasta marcar
el color del tipo de grabacin en las casillas de hora y da, a continuacin se presenta el significado de los
colores dependiendo del tipo de grabacin:

AZUL Horario (Common): Esta opcin programa el horario de grabacin. Es decir el CCTV-960 comenzar a grabar
cuando alcanza la hora y el da configurado.
VERDE Movimiento (Motion): Indica que la grabacin ser accionada cuando exista deteccin de movimiento. Tome en
cuenta que la sensibilidad puede ser ajustada, para ms informacin consulte la pg. 30.
ROJO Alarma (Alarm): Inicia la grabacin cuando se activa la alarma.
AMARILLO Evento (Event): Inicia la grabacin cuando se presenta un evento (deteccin de movimiento o activacin de
alarma).
BLANCO (No grabar): Para cancelar todo tipo de grabacin programada marque las casillas de hora de color blanco. Esta
modalidad es til si desea usar el CCTV-960 nicamente para monitorear.
TIPS: En este men tambin puede usar las teclas de direccin (para navegar) y ENTER (seleccionar) del
CCTV-960 o del control remoto.
Si presiona el botn de un da podr marcar todas las horas.
Puede asignar varios tipos de grabacin en los distintos das pero slo una modalidad por hora.
5. Si desea copiar la programacin a otro canal seleccinelo en el campo COPY PARAMETER (Copiar
parmetro a), de este modo los canales tendrn la misma configuracin. Si lo desea, puede aplicar los
ajustes a todos los canales seleccionando ALL (todas).
6. Confirme seleccionando OK.
7. Ahora el DVR est programado para realizar grabaciones en el horario marcado, en caso de que
desee detener la grabacin sin modificar el horario, simplemente presione el botn REC en el DVR o control
remoto y confirme la accin cuando se le pregunte.

2. Aparecer la siguiente ventana, seleccione la fecha que desea visualizar (Mes/da/ao) y confirme con PLAY.

Recuerde que slo los das marcados de rojo sern aquellos en los
cuales se han realizado grabaciones.
3. La reproduccin de grabaciones comenzar automticamente, en caso de que desee visualizar solamente un canal
seleccinelo con doble clic.
La lnea de tiempo contiene las 24 hrs. del da y existen dos modos de visualizacin:
Lnea general: Muestra en color amarillo las horas donde se realizaron grabaciones. Si desea realizar un
acercamiento a la lnea de tiempo simplemente seleccione el botn + o - para alejar.
Lneas de canales: Este modo se despliega seleccionando el botn DETAILS () y muestra las propiedades
de grabacin de los 4 canales. Si desea realizar un acercamiento a la lnea de tiempo simplemente seleccione
el botn + o - para alejar.

1. Play (Reproducir): Seleccione este botn para reanudar la reproduccin luego de haber usado la opcin Pause
(Pausar) o Step (Congelar imagen).
2. Pause (Pausar): Seleccione este botn para pausar la reproduccin en curso, para reanudar la reproduccin
seleccione PLAY.
3. Slower (Bajar velocidad): Pulse este botn para que la reproduccin sea ms lenta que la velocidad normal (X1),
si pulsa este botn nuevamente, la velocidad de grabacin disminuir a uno de los cuatro niveles.
4. Faster (Aumentar velocidad): Pulse este botn para que la reproduccin sea ms rpida que la velocidad normal
(X1), si pulsa este botn nuevamente, la velocidad de grabacin aumentar a uno de los cuatro niveles.
5. Step (Congelar imagen): Seleccione este botn para congelar la reproduccin en curso, para reanudar la
reproduccin seleccione PLAY.
6. Exit (Salir): Regresa al modo de seleccin de fecha para reproduccin.
7. (Zoom -): Use este botn para alejar la lnea de tiempo (general o canales).
8. + (Zoom +): Use este botn para acercar la lnea de tiempo (general o canales).
9. Details (Detalles): Despliega y oculta la vista por canales en la lnea de tiempo.
10. : Adelanta la reproduccin 10 minutos en vista de lnea de tiempo con Zoom - y 1 minuto en lnea de tiempo con
Zoom +.
11. : Atrasa la reproduccin 10 minutos en vista de lnea de tiempo con Zoom - y 1 minuto en lnea de tiempo con
Zoom +.
12. Canales: Muestra los cuatro canales, estos estarn marcados con el color correspondiente al tipo de grabacin.

TIP: El men de PLAYBACK (Reproduccin de grabaciones) tambin lo puede abrir presionando el botn PLAY
/PAUSE del DVR o del control remoto.

-User Management (Gestin de usuarios): Al ingresar a esta opcin encontrar la descripcin de los
usuarios.
Predeterminadamente el DVR tiene programado el usuario Admin, este ser el nico que tendr la
autoridad para configurar todas las funciones del DVR, es decir que podr restringir acceso a configuraciones
o asignar autoridad a usuarios especficos, adems podr crear o eliminar usuarios.
La clave predeterminada del usuario Admin es 888888 pero si desea modificarla consulte el
apartado Cambio de contrasea.

Nmero de usuario.
Record Backup:
Seala la Autoridad para
exportar grabaciones

Nombre de usuario.

Aadir usuario:
Importante, inicie sesin en el CCTV-960 con la cuenta Admin.
1. Elija el botn ADD (Agregar nuevo usuario).
2. En el campo USER ingrese el nombre del nuevo usuario, en
el campo PASSWORD ingrese una contrasea de 1 hasta 6
caracteres (puede mezclar nmeros, smbolos, letras maysculas
y minsculas).
3. Vuelva a ingresar la clave en el campo CONFIRM PASSWORD
y confirme seleccionando OK.
4. Al regresar a la gestin de usuarios observar el nuevo usuario
en la lista.
El nmero mximo de usuarios que se pueden crear en el DVR es 8, pero slo uno puede ser ADMINISTRADOR
(Admin).
Borrar usuario:
1. Seleccione el usuario que desea suprimir.
2. Elija el botn DELETE (Eliminar), cuando aparezca la pantalla
de confirmacin, acepte seleccionando OK.
3. Al regresar a la gestin de usuarios observar que el usuario ha
desaparecido de la lista.

Authority (Autoridad):
Seleccione esta opcin para determinar los permisos y restricciones a cada usuario.
System Set (Ajustar SET): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario tendr la
autoridad de realizar ajustes en el men SET.
PTZ Control (Controlar cmara PTZ): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario podr
controlar libremente la cmara PTZ.
Record playback (Ver grabaciones): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario podr
consultar y ver las grabaciones.
Record Backup (Exportar grabaciones): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario
podr exportar las grabaciones que desee a un medio de almacenamiento
externo, por ejemplo una memoria USB.

travs de una memoria USB.
Asegrese de que el dispositivo USB est conectado correctamente y cuenta con las actualizaciones

Una vez que se ha completado, deber reiniciar el equipo para que los cambios surtan efecto.

Para agregar oprima y mantenga presionado el botn izquierdo del mouse y seleccione el rea, para borrar
mscaras seleccinelas con el botn derecho. Cada regin de privacidad se mostrar de color gris cuando
realice una grabacin. Cada canal soporta hasta 4 reas.

Las mscaras colocadas slo se vern durante el proceso de visualizacin de pantallas en vivo y mientras
graba, pero no quedarn registradas en el video final.
- Video lost: Esta aplicacin permite activar una advertencia en caso de que se presente una prdida de video.

- Channel (canal): Selecciona el canal al que se le aplicaran los
ajustes.
- Protocol (Protocolo): Opcin que permite seleccionar el
protocolo segn los parmetros configurados en la cmara domo
(PT o PTZ). Samsung, PelcoO, PelcoP, Panasonic.
- Baud rate (Velocidad de baudios): Permite elegir la velocidad
de los baudios (1200, 2400, 4800,9600).
- PTZ speed (Velocidad de cmara): Ajusta la velocidad de
movimiento del domo (PT o PTZ).
- Address (Direccin): Permite seleccionar la direccin con relacin a la establecida en la cmara (PT o PTZ).
Grabar ruta
1. Seleccione el Preset que desea configurar (1-255).
2. Seleccione el botn REC de esta ventana y presione el botn derecho sobre la ventana de visualizacin.
3. Use el mouse para mover la cmara a la posicin que desea establecer. Realice este paso de modo conciso
y rpido.
4. Cuando llegue a la posicin deseada presione el botn derecho del mouse para detener y abrir la ventana
de configuracin.
5. Seleccione STOP>SET>EXIT.
Usar ruta
1. Para usar la ruta creada ingrese a la opcin PTZ en el men de
herramientas.
2. Seleccione el Preset que ha establecido y seleccione el primer botn
de CALL.
3. La cmara ir a la posicin grabada.
4. Para trasladarse a otros Presets grabados simplemente repita el
paso 2.
En caso de tener varios Presets establecidos la cmara realizar

The 4 Channel Digital Video recorder allows you to record the signal from four different closed-circuit TV cameras
(CCTV) and to monitor them via Internet.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
The DVR must be only operated with the appropriate power source, indicated on the label.
Do not place the DVR near any sources of heat, such as radiators, heating vents, stoves or any other equipment that may expose the
equipment to heat.
Clean the CCTV-960 only with a dry towel.
Do not obstruct the cooling vents.
Do not store or operate this device if may be exposed to water leaks or splashes. This could cause malfunction or electric shock.
Do not place heavy objects on the equipment or its accessories.
The DVR equipment is meant for indoor use.
There is a risk of electric shock if any non-authorized or qualified person opens the DVR cover.
Avoid installing the DVR anywhere it may be exposed to strong movements or vibrations.

In many cases, you may use the scroll wheel
to scroll through options in a list. Place your
cursor on the field you wish to modify and
turn the wheel to scroll up and down the list.

You can use the scroll wheel to quickly switch

To do this, you must be in multi-channel view
then double click to select one channel. From

2.6 CONNECTIONS
2.6.1 Camera connections
Connect the cameras video output to the input on the back of the DVR. The input is a BNC type connector.
2.6.2 Audio connections
2.6.2.1 Input
The audio input jack is a standard RCA jack.
The audio signal must be free of any source of interference, such as magnetic fields or strong electric currents.
2.6.2.1 Output
Should you need an audio output, use a BNC to RCA adapter and connect it to the audio source.
2.6.3 Monitor or screen connection
Connect a screen to the BNC output or a monitor to the VGA input. Use a BNC to RCA adapter and connect to
the video source.
2.6.4 Power connection
Connect the AC adapter to the power input jack on the back panel.
2.6.5 Ethernet connection
Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 jack to obtain remote access via Internet or Ethernet.
2.6.6 USB connection
The USB port can be used to connect backup drives such as USB drives.
2.6.7 PTZ or PT camera connection
Being sure to match the poles correctly, insert the RS485 cables from the camera to the RX and TX input jacks.

If necessary, use adapters (with female RCA connectors and male BNC connectors) for the audio and

5. Sets up a notification in case the alarm is activated: Trigger alarm out, Trigger
buzzer, Trigger email, Trigger zoom out.
In Trigger record select the cameras that will record.

If the alarm is activated, this will sound for 10 seconds after closed or open, otherwise this sound will continue until
you return to the configured state (NO or NC).
Before turning on the unit, make sure that all components all connected properly. Refer to section 2.6
Connections.
- Powering ON:
Turn on the DVR and wait for the system to properly
initialize. The DVR wi ll emit an alert to indicate
proper start-up.
When the system is initialized, a screen will be displayed
askingyou to insert an User name and Password in order
to operate the DVR. Select the username Admin and
type in the password 888888 (by default).

If you did not install a hard drive on the CCTV-960, the system will initialize normally and may still be used to monitor video,
except you will NOT be able to make any recordings.
After this, the system will display all 4 channels live, as indicated in the illustration below:

- Power OFF:
Do NOT turn off the DVR when it is in normal recording mode by using the power switch.
1. If the CCTV-960 is currently recording, press the REC button on the DVR or remote control.
2. A window will pop up which will ask you whether you would like to abort recording.
Confirm this by selecting OK.
3. Once the recording icon disappears and the LED indicator stops blinking, right-click
on the mouse and select EXIT.
4. Select SHUTDOWN and power off the equipment when indicated.
If the DVR is not in recording mode, you may simply follow steps 3 and 4.

that display general information about CCTV-960.
1. Information about software and hardware versions of
t he CCTV-960, as well as the number of available
languages, such as: English, Portuguese, Chinese, etc.
2. H.D.D. Info (Hard Drive Info): The first number refers
to the storage space (in GB) available for recording and
the second number refers to the total capacity of the
hard drive.
Time to full (hour): Indicates the available, remaining
recording time until the hard drive becomes full.
FPS (Frames per second): This is the measure of the frequency with which the DVR is generating frames.
The more frames per second, the better the quality of the video recorded. Keep in mind that this parameter
wont be reflected in the visualization of the live feeds of the cameras but in the video file that is recorded.
To modify these parameters, go to: SET>RECORD>RECORD QUALITY>FRAME RATE.
Size: CIF Resolution (288 lines and 352 pxels per line).
Motion: Indicates when the camera senses movement, N (NO) / Y (YES).

3.5 RECORDING
IMPORTANT: In order to start recording, it is fundamental that the hard drive already be installed and
formatted. Otherwise, you will be limited to viewing live video feeds and will not be able to record videos.
Each screen will display 4 icons that indicate the status of the recording on each channel.

Repeatedly right-click with the mouse, or press the ENTER button on the DVR, to toggle through the
different colors that can be displayed on the grid. Each color represents a type of recording:

BLUE > Schedule: This represents a scheduled recording. This means the CCTV-960 will automatically start a recording
on the configured day and time.
GREEN > Motion: Represents a recording that took place when the motion sensor was activated. Note that you can adjust
the motion detectors level of sensitivity by following the directions on page 30.
RED > Alarm:
YELLOW > Event: Recording initiated when an event occurred (motion detection, alarm activated).
WHITE > Do not record:
To cancel any sort of scheduled recording set the boxes on the grid to white. This setting will
prevent any recording and is useful when you wish to use the CCTV-960 simply to monitor live
video feeds without recording.
TIPS: In this menu you can also use the navigation buttons and ENTER (to select) on the CCTV-960 remote
control.
If you press a days button, you will highlight all its hours at once.
You can assign different types of recordings on a single day, but only one type per hour.
5. If you want to apply the settings from one channel to other, select it under COPY PARAMETER.
You can also apply the same configuration to all channels by selecting ALL.
6. Confirm by selecting OK.
7. Now the DVR is programmed to record at the selected times. In case that you want to stop a recording
as it is occurring, without modifying the schedule, simply press the REC button on the DVR or remote control
and confirm the action when prompted.

3.6 PLAYBACK
1. To start playback, access the PLAYBACK menu. Th
ere are two modes:
A) Press PLAY on the DVR or remote control.
B) Right-click with the mouse on the channel visualization screen or select the ESC button on the DVR to open
the tool bar and select the PLAYBACK option.
2. The following screen will appear. Select the date you want to see (Month/day/year) and confirm pressing PLAY.

The days with recordings will display controls and playback options. If you
wish to see only one channel, select it with a double-click.
3. Playback will begin automatically. If you want to view a single channel, select it with a double-click.
The time indicator bar displays 24-hour time and has two modes:
Simple time bar: The recordings are displayed in yellow. If you want to zoom in and out of
the time indicator bar simply use the + and - buttons.
Channels time bar: This mode can be displayed by pressing DETAILS (o) and will display the properties for all
channels. If you want to zoom in and out simply use the + and - buttons.

1. Play: Press this button to resume playback after having paused it either with Pause or Step.
2. Pause: Press this button to pause playback. To resume, press PLAY.
3. Slower: Press this button to slow down playback by a factor of 1/2 the normal (x1) speed. Each time you press
the button you will advance to the next of 4 increasingly slower levels.
4. Faster: Press this button to increase to a level faster than the normal (x1) speed. Each time you press
the button you will advance to the next of 4 speed levels, increasing by a factor of 2.
The playback speed indicator is displayed in the lower right corner of the display.
5. Step: Press this button to freeze playback. To continue playback press PLAY.
6. Exit: Returns to date selection mode.
7. (Zoom -): Press to make the time bar smaller (as if pushing it away). Works in both general and channels mode.
8. + (Zoom +): Press to enlarge the time bar (as if bringing it closer). Works in both general and channels mode.
9. Details : Toggles the time bar between general mode and channels mode.
10. : Skips playback ahead 10 minutes with Zoom - time bar and 1 minute in Zoom + time bar.
11. : Skips playback back 10 minutes with Zoom - time bar and 1 minute in Zoom + time bar.

4.1 SYSTEM
-DST Settings: This option allows you to Enable or Disable the Daylight
Savings Time. Make sure your starting date and time are the correct ones
for your time zone.
It is recommended to use the correct date and time because in
case that a crucial event is recorded and needed for evidence, this will
give validity to the video captured by the CCTV-960.

-User Management: This menu item displays the users accounts and descriptions.
By default, the DVR comes with the account name Admin, and this is the only user that has the ability
to configure all settings on the DVR. This means you can restrict the rights of other users or grant
rights to specific users. This administrator account can also create and delete users.
The default password for the Admin account is 888888 but it may be changed. To see how, consult
the section Changing account password.
Record Backup:
Indicates whether user has
the right to make backups.
(Y=YES or N=NO).

Important- Log in to the CCTV-960 under the Admin account.
1. Click ADD.
2. In USER type in the new user name and for PASSWORD type
in the desired password, which must be from 1 to 6 characters
long and may include numbers, symbols, uppercase and also
lowercase letters.
3. Type in the password again in the CONFIRM PASSWORD
field and confirm by clicking OK.
4. When you go back to the User Management menu you will
now see the new user listed as well.
The maximum number of users that can be created on the DVR is 8, but only one can be ADMINISTRATOR
(Admin).
Delete user:
1. Select the user you wish to delete.
2. Click DELETE, and when you see the confirmation screen
select OK.
3. When you see the User Management menu, that user will
no longer appear on the list.

Password:
To change a password follow these steps (Note that you must
be logged in to the CCTV-960 under the Admin account to do so):
1. Right-click on the channel visualization screen or press the ESC
button on the DVR or remote control to open the tool bar.
2. Select SET and choose the SYSTEM menu.
3. From the ADVANCED SETTING submenu, choose SET
under USER MANAGEMENT.
4. Select your user name and click PASSWORD.
5. Type in your current password under OLD PASSWORD.
6. Write your new password under NEW PASSWORD.
Retype your new password under CONFIRM PASSWORD and click OK to save.
No user, including Admin, can change another users password.
Authority:
Select this option to determine the rights and restrictions of each user.
System Set: Checking this box gives the user the right to make changes to
the SET menu.
PTZ Control: Checking this box gives the user the right to freely control the
PTZ camera.
Record Playback: Checking this box gives the user the right to consult and
view recordings.
Record Backup: Checking this box gives the user the right to make backups
of recordings onto an external hard drive, for example a USB drive.
-HDD Overwrite: Allows you to enable or disable the overwriting of old files when space is needed.
Enable: This enables the overwriting function, which will overwrite existing files when the hard drive is full
and space is needed, beginning with the oldest files.
Disable: Recording will stop once the hard drive is full.
4.1.3 Maintenance

-Software Update: This option allows you to update the DVR software from an USB drive.
Make sure the USB drive is connected correctly and contains the software update files.
Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the update process.
Once the update is complete, you must restart the system for the new changes to take effect.
IMPORTANT: After returning to factory settings, the VGA port will remain set.
app.cfg, meaning that if you wish to save two configurations on the same USB drive, the new one will
overwrite the existing one. For this reason, it is recommended that you make a backup in your computer.
Take the necessary precautions to avoid the loss of your configuration files.

4.2 CHANNEL
This menu can adjust the settings for the channels and cameras.
4.2.1 Display
Displays the names of the channels
- Channel: Select the number of the camera for which you would
like to modify the name.
- Channel If you wish to change the name of the channel

select the text box and type in the new name.
- Channel: Select the number of the camera for which you would
like to modify the name.
- Motion Sensitivity: Allows you to adjust the motion sensitivity
levels:
Disable, Lowest, Low, Middle, High, Highest.
- Motion Area: Left-click on the grid squares and drag the cursor while holding down the left mouse button.
The blue highlighted area represents the area that will be able to be scanned, and the non-highlighted part is
disabled. Right-click to save changes and exit.

- Event Handle: This option allows you to select the type of notification that will be displayed in case that there
is an event (motion detected).
Trigger record: Select the cameras that you wish to perform this action.
Trigger alarm out: Activates the alarm connected to the back of the DVR.
Trigger buzzer: Activates the DVRs internal alarm.
Trigger email: Sends an email to the stored address.
Trigger zoom out (Activates zoom): When an event happened, this option will automatically open the selected
channel in full screen view (1-channel View).
- Primary Mask: Each camera can define different regions for privacy purposes, meaning that boxes can block
the view of sensitive areas to censor them in channel view mode. To add a privacy mask, left-click and drag to
select the desired area. To erase a mask, right-click it. Each privacy mask will be shown as a black box in view
mode. Each channel can have up to 4 masks.

- PTZ speed: Adjust the motion speed of the (PT or PTZ).

- Preset & Trace: This option allows you to record and set up to
255 PRESETS. A preset helps to orient the camera easily with a
previously defined set of positions that the user may use to move

The following are steps to set up a motion route.
Record route
1. Select the Preset you wish to configure (1-255).
2. Select the REC button from this window and right-click on the visualizatoin screen.
3. Use the mouse to move the camera to the desired position. Do this in a swift and precise manner.
4. When you arrive at the desired position, right-click on the mouse to stop and open the configuration window.
5. Select STOP>SET>EXIT.
Use route
1. To use the created route, go to PTZ on the tool bar menu.
2. Select the established Preset and click the first CALL button.
3. The camera will move to the predetermined position.
4. To move to other Presets simply repeat step 2.
In case there are several Presets recorded, the camera will UHYLHZ
them all.

4.4 RECORD
4.4.1 Record Schedule
- Channel: Select the channel to which adjustments will be made.
- Record Audio: If you wish to make recordings with audio and
video select the VIDEO & AUDIO option, or select VIDEO ONLY
make recordings with only video.

4.5 ALARM
- Alarm input channel: Select the channel to be used for the
alarm recordings.
- Type: Select the alarm type, Normally Open (N/O) or Normally
Closed (N/C). Each camera has an input jack on the back panel.
The user must use an exit voltage sensor to connect the alarm
entry interface.
- N/O: Normally Open. The sensor must have a constantly low
voltage level. If the exit voltage changes from a low level to a high
level, the DVR will be activated.
- N/C: Normally closed. The sensor must have a constantly high
voltage level. If the exit voltage changes from a high level to a low
level, the DVR will be activated.
- Deploy schedule: Opens a window to configure the alarm schedule.
Right-click with the mouse, or press ENTER on the DVR or remote control until you see the squares on the
date and time grid highlighted in color. Here is what each color represents:

3. According with the information of your email provider, enter the next information EMAIL SERVER (SMTP),

6. Press the TEST button to make sure to make sure that they are communicated, wait a moment and check if
the added emails received an email with congratulations and confirmations about this app.

Now every time when an event happens you will receive an email indicating the channel, warning reason, and

It is possible that the power adapter is damaged. In this case, contact
the distributor for a replacement.
There may be hardware problems present. In this case, contact the
supplier.
The hard drive has not been formatted. It needs to be manually formatted
prior to its first use.
The recording mode is not activated or the configuration is incorrect.

The hard drive is full overwrite mode is not activated. To activate it, refer
to the section titled HDD Overwrite on page 28.
The hard drive is damaged.
Unplug the mouse and plug it back in to the USB port labeled MOUSE.
