CARACTERSTICAS
El grabador digital de 4 canales le permite grabar la seal de 4 cmaras diferentes para circuito cerrado de TV, y a la
vez monitorear va Internet.
El video se almacenar en un disco duro (NO incluido) en formato .avi, con una resolucin CIF (288x352), con
interfase Ethernet para conectar el grabador a la red, 4 entradas con conector tipo BNC y salida para el monitor.
En el panel frontal cuenta con indicadores de encendido y actividad de grabacin u operacin del disco duro;
adems incluye controles para adelantar y atrasar la grabacin, reproduccin, pausa y grabacin, botones para
seleccionar la cmara que se desea observar en el monitor, tambin se puede controlar por medio de un control
remoto.

CAPTULO 1: INTRODUCCIN
NOTAS IMPORTANTES
El DVR debe ser operado solamente con el tipo de fuente de alimentacin indicado en la etiqueta.
No instale el DVR cerca de fuentes de calor tales como radiadores, registros de calefaccin, estufas u otros dispositivos que puedan producir
calor.
Limpie el CCTV-960 solamente con un pao seco.
No obstruya las aberturas de ventilacin.
No use ni almacene este equipo en lugares donde existan goteras o salpicaduras de agua. Puede causar un mal funcionamiento o choque
elctrico.
No coloque objetos pesados sobre el equipo, ni sobre sus accesorios.
El DVR es un equipo para uso en interiores.
Hay riesgo de electrocucin si una persona no autorizada o calificada abriera la carcasa del DVR.
Evite la instalacin del DVR en un lugar sometido a fuertes movimientos o vibraciones.
No utilice ni instale el DVR bajo la luz solar directa.
Asegrese de que hay una ventilacin adecuada alrededor del DVR.
No inserte ningn objeto en los orificios de ventilacin.
No exponga el equipo a temperaturas extremas.
Compruebe que la electricidad en el lugar donde quiere instalar la unidad de DVR es estable. La electricidad inestable puede provocar averas
en la unidad o daarla gravemente.
No exponga el equipo ni sus accesorios a polvo, humo o vapor.
Para desconectar el equipo, jale de la clavija y retrela del contacto. Nunca jale el cable de alimentacin para desconectarlo.
Seguridad en bateras (del control remoto):

No utilice a la vez bateras usadas y nuevas o de diferentes tipos.
Retire las bateras cuando no va a utilizar el control remoto durante un perodo de tiempo prolongado.
Mantenga las bateras fuera del alcance de los nios.
Si entra en contacto con el material de una batera daada o con fugas, emprenda las siguientes medidas:
- Si el material le entra en los ojos, no se los frote. Lmpielos con abundante agua limpia y acuda inmediatamente a un mdico.
- Si el material entra en contacto con la piel o con la ropa, limpie inmediatamente la zona afectada con agua limpia. Consulte a un mdico
si observa inflamacin o siente dolor.
Seguridad de operacin:
Antes de encender el sistema:
- Instale el disco duro (ms informacin en pgina 8).
- Realice todas las conexiones (ms informacin en pgina 9).
Despus de encender el sistema:
- Espere poco ms de 1 minuto para permitir el inicio del sistema.
- Inicie la cuenta de administrador y formatee el disco duro de lo contrario no podr realizar grabaciones.
Para iniciar la cuenta del administrador:
- Cuando encienda el DVR, se le pedir que inicie sesin. Seleccione la cuenta Admin. La contrasea por defecto es 888888 (seis nmeros ocho).
- Una vez conectado aparecer la pantalla de visualizacin de cmaras. Cuando haga clic con el botn derecho del mouse o presione [ENTER] en
el panel frontal, se abrir una barra de herramientas en la cual podr seleccionar el men (SET) y otras opciones.
Para salir de la cuenta del administrador:
Abra la barra de herramientas presionando el botn derecho del mouse o la tecla ESC del DVR Seleccione Exit Logout
Operaciones bsicas:
Cambiar el modo de visualizacin: Use la tecla
para cambiar el modo de pantalla completa y seleccione las teclas (CH1 al CH4 en el panel
frontal o 1 al 4 en el control remoto) del nmero de cmara que desea ver.
Las ilustraciones, iconos y pantallas que se muestran en el manual son informacin de referencia sobre su producto.

2.2 CONTROLES PANEL TRASERO
1. Conector USB
Conecte dispositivos como memorias USB para realizar respaldos de las grabaciones y configuraciones de firmware.
2. Conector USB de mouse
Permite conectar un mouse va USB.
3. Salida de audio
Conector RCA para salida de audio monoaural.
4. Conectores de entrada de video
4 conectores BNC para cmaras CCTV.
5. Conector de salida de video
Conector BNC de salida de video a un monitor o pantalla.
6. Puerto Ethernet LAN
Utilice un cable RJ-45 LAN para conectarse a una red LAN.
7. Conector VGA
En este puerto puede conectar un monitor VGA.

2.3 CONTROL REMOTO
1. Botones alfanumricos: Use estos botones para cambiar de cmara (1-4) en modo de visualizacin 1 canal.
2. Botn DEL: Sin funcin.
3. Botn de restablecimiento de la alarma: Presione este botn para cancelar la activacin de una alarma.
4. Botn de contraste: Sin funcin.
5. Botn de brillo: Sin funcin.

2.4 INSTALACIN DE DISCO DURO

1. Retire los tornillos (4 laterales y 3 posteriores) de la cubierta del

DVR y jale hacia fuera.

2. Conecte el cable plano SATA a su disco duro, asegrese de que la

pestaa ubicada a un lado del cable coincida con la ranura del disco
duro, de otra forma no podr conectar el cable.

3. Conecte el cable de energa al disco duro.

4. Coloque el disco duro en el interior del DVR. Para asegurarlo,

atornille en cada lado del disco duro.

5. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta del equipo atornillando firmemente para

asegurarla.

Funciones:
Acceder al men y confirmar accin
Visualizacin de 1 canal:
Mueva el cursor hasta el canal deseado y
haga doble clic izquierdo para visualizar en
pantalla completa.
Visualizacin de multicmaras:
En la visualizacin 1 canal haga doble clic
sobre la pantalla para ir a la vista multicmaras.
Ver Barra de herramientas:

En la visualizacin de cmaras haga clic con
el botn derecho para mostrar y ocultar la
barra de herramientas.
Cambiar valor:
En muchos casos puede utilizar la rueda del
ratn para cambiar el valor de alguna opcin.
Dirija el cursor hasta el valor a modificar y
utilice la rueda para subir o bajar.
Switch 1 canal/multicmaras:
Puede usar el scroll del ratn para
intercalar rpidamente entre el modo 1
canal y multicmaras. Para realizar esta
accin deber encontrarse en el modo
multicmaras y seleccionar con doble clic
un canal, una vez que ingrese al modo 1
canal deslice el scroll para hacer switch entre
visualizaciones.
2.6 CONEXIONES
2.6.1 Conexin de cmaras
Conecte la salida de video de las cmaras al conector de entrada en la parte posterior del DVR. La interface de
entrada es un conector BNC.
2.6.2 Conexiones de audio

2.6.2.1 Entrada
La interface de entrada de audio es un jack estndar RCA.
La seal de audio se debe de alejar de fuentes de interferencia como campos magnticos o elctrico muy fuertes.

2.6.2.1 Salida
Si requiere de una salida de audio, utilice un adaptador BNC a RCA y conecte a la fuente de sonido externa.
2.6.3 Conexin de monitor o pantalla
Conecte una pantalla a la salida BNC o use un monitor en la entrada VGA, utilice un adaptador BNC a RCA y
conecte a la fuente de video externa.
2.6.4 Conexin de alimentacin
Conecte el adaptador de corriente en la entrada de alimentacin que se encuentra en el panel trasero.
2.6.5 Conexin a red Ethernet
Conecte un cable de red al conector RJ-45 para obtener acceso remoto va Internet o ethernet.
2.6.6 Conexin USB
En el puerto USB puede conectar unidades de respaldo como memorias USB.
2.6.7 Conexin de cmaras PTZ o PT
De acuerdo a su polo inserte los cables RS485 de la cmara en las entradas RX y TX. Ms informacin en el
apartado Conectar cmaras PTZ o PT pgina 15.

En caso de ser necesario use adaptadores (con conector hembra RCA a conector macho BNC) en las
conexiones de audio y video.
2.7 INSTALACIN DE ALARMA

1. Observe el siguiente diagrama de conexin para poder usar el CCTV-960 con una alarma:

Puede conectar hasta 4 sensores.
2. En el DVR ingrese a SET>ALARM>ALARM INPUT

CHANNEL y seleccione la entrada de alarma (1 al 4) que
desea configurar.
3. Seleccione un modo de operacin de alarma para el canal seleccionado:

- N.O.: Normalmente abierto. El sensor debe tener una salida constante de nivel de voltaje bajo. Si la salida de voltaje
cambia de un nivel bajo a un nivel alto, el DVR se activar.
- N.C.: Normalmente cerrado. El sensor debe tener una salida constante de nivel de voltaje alto. Si la salida de voltaje
cambia de un nivel alto a un nivel bajo, el DVR se activar.
4. Seleccione la opcin Display schedule y establezca el
horario deseado para activar o desactivar la opcin de
alarma.
COLOR ROJO: Activa la funcin de alarma.
COLOR BLANCO: Desactiva la funcin de alarma.
5. En la opcin Event Handle seleccione las actividades que realizar el DVR

cuando la alarma sea activada: Trigger alarm out (activar alarma externa), Trigger
buzzer (Activar timbre), Trigger email (Advertencia a mail), Trigger zoom out (Activar
zoom).
En el Trigger record (activar grabacin) seleccione el nmero de canal que
comenzar a grabar cuando se active la alarma.

Si se activ la alarma, esta durar 10 segundos despus de cerrarla o abrirla, de lo contrario esta seguir activa
hasta que regrese al estado configurado (N.O. o N.C.).

3.1 ENCENDER/ APAGAR EL DVR
Antes de poner en funcionamiento la unidad, asegrese de que las conexiones sean correctas. Consulte
el apartado 2.6 Conexiones.
- Encendido:
Encienda el DVR y espere poco ms de 1 minuto para
que inicie el sistema. El DVR emitir una alerta sonora
para indicar la activacin correcta.
Al iniciar el sistema aparecer la ventana de inicio de
sesin que le pedir una cuenta de usuario para operar
el DVR. La contrasea (Password) por defecto para la
cuenta Admin es 888888.
Para ms informacin de cmo introducir texto a travs
del teclado, consulte 3.2.1 Teclado.
Si no instal un disco duro en el CCTV-960, ste comenzar normalmente pero nicamente podr ser usado para monitorear y
no para grabar.
Despus de esto, el sistema mostrar la vista de los 4 canales en vivo, a continuacin un ejemplo de visualizacin:

Presione el botn derecho del mouse o presione [ESC]

en el panel frontal del DVR para abrir la BARRA DE
HERRAMIENTAS que le permitir ajustar los parmetros
y operar el DVR.

- Apagado:
NO apague el DVR en condicin de grabacin normal con el interruptor de encendido y apagado.
1. Si el CCTV-960 se encuentra grabando presione el botn REC del DVR o del control remoto.
2. Aparecer una ventana que le preguntar si est seguro de abortar la grabacin,
confirme seleccionando OK.
3. Una vez que desaparecen los iconos de estado de grabacin y el LED indicador
deja de parpadear, haga clic derecho con el mouse y seleccione la opcin EXIT.
4. Seleccione SHUTDOWN y apague el equipo cuando se le indique.
Si el DVR no est en proceso de grabacin puede realizar nicamente los pasos 3 y 4.

TIP: Puede usar el scroll del ratn para intercalar rpidamente entre el modo 1 canal y multicmaras. Para realizar esta
accin deber encontrarse en modo multicmaras y seleccionar un canal con doble clic, una vez que ingrese al modo 1
canal deslice el scroll para hacer switch entre visualizaciones.
Tambin se puede seleccionar una cmara presionando las teclas de nmero 1-4 del panel frontal del DVR.
Estado de canal:
El estado del canal se muestra en la esquina superior derecha de la vista de cada canal. A continuacin se presenta
el significado de los iconos:
ICONO
SIGNIFICADO
Indica deteccin de movimiento. Aparece cuando las cmaras perciben movimientos.
Audio habilitado. Si una salida de audio est conectada, se puede monitorear el sonido al mismo
tiempo que el video.
Audio deshabilitado.
Indica que se ha activado la alarma.

Se muestra este icono de advertencia cuando se produce un evento (prdida de video,
deteccin de movimiento) o alarma, seleccinelo para ver la descripcin. Para quitar el icono
simplemente seleccione la opcin CLEAR.

Indica grabacin de evento accionada por deteccin de movimiento.
Indica que se realiza una grabacin por horario.
Indica grabacin accionada por la alarma programada.
Indica que se realiza una grabacin manual. Aparece cuando se presiona el botn REC y el DVR
no tiene ninguna configuracin de grabacin (evento, horario, alarma).

3.2.1 TECLADO
El teclado se despliega en los campos de texto donde es necesario introducir datos.
El teclado tiene 2 modos de uso: Letras minsculas/ maysculas y nmeros/smbolos.

3.3 BARRA DE HERRAMIENTAS

Para abrir y cerrar este men de herramientas seleccione uno de los siguientes
botones:
* Con el ratn: Haga clic con el botn derecho (sobre la pantalla de visualizacin).
* Control Remoto: Seleccione la botn ESC.
* En panel frontal del DVR: Presione el botn ESC.
MULTI SCREEN: Seleccione esta opcin para elegir una de las dos modalidades vlidas para la
visualizacin, Single Channel (1 canal) o Four channel (multi-cmaras).
NEXT SCREEN:
Channel).
Cambia la visualizacin a la siguiente cmara (nicamente en la modalidad Single
SET: Contiene las principales configuraciones para el DVR como System (Sistema), Channel (Canal),
Live (Ajuste de audio/ video), Record (Grabacin), Alarm (Alarma) y Network (Conexin a Red).

PLAYBACK (Reproduccin de grabaciones): Este men ingresa al reproductor de grabaciones. Par ms
informacin consulte la pgina 21.
BACKUP (Exportar grabaciones): Permite exportar videos grabados en formato .avi a un medio de
almacenamiento externo (Memoria USB). Par ms informacin consulte la pgina 23.
PTZ: Abre el men de operacin de la cmara PTZ seleccionada. A continuacin se explican las principales
instrucciones para poder operar una cmara con este men.

Ajustes de cmara PTZ o PT

Acceda al men SET > CHANNEL>PTZ para configurar los parmetros del DVR (los parmetros deberan ser
los mismos que la cmara PTZ o PT).
1. Seleccione el canal del DVR

2. Seleccione el Protocolo
(Samsung, PelcoO, PelcoP,
Panasonic) del DVR de acuerdo
a su cmara. Importante, estos
dos valores deben ser los mismos
entre la cmara y el CCTV-960.

3. Segn sus necesidades seleccione el mismo valor de Baud rate (Velocidad de baudios) tanto en la cmara
como en el DVR, las opciones son: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600.
4. En el campo PTZ Speed seleccione la velocidad con la que operar la cmara, las opciones son: 1 al 16.
5. Seleccione la Direccin (Address) que tiene establecida la cmara PTZ o PT.
Si desea conectar otra cmara simplemente seleccione una direccin y canal diferente.

Conectar cmaras PTZ o PT

Informacin importante antes de comenzar:
- Presione los seguros de este puerto con ayuda de un desarmador
para poder conectar y asegurar los cables RS485 de las cmaras.
- Los cables RS485 de la cmara PTZ o PT son los que permiten la
comunicacin del DVR generalmente est marcado de color morado
el positivo (+) y de gris el negativo (-). Para ms informacin consulte
las especificaciones de su cmara.
1. Inserte los cables RS485 de la cmara en las entradas RX y TX
en el panel trasero del DVR de acuerdo a su polo.
2. Conecte el cable de la cmara al canal que seleccion en el paso
1 de las instrucciones Ajustes de cmara PTZ o PT. En caso de ser
necesario use un adaptador con conector hembra RCA a conector
macho BNC.
3. Inserte el eliminador al conector de alimentacin de la cmara
para energizarla.
Usar cmaras PTZ o PT

1. Una vez conectada la cmara abra el men de control, existen tres modos:
a) Presione el botn derecho del ratn en la pantalla de visualizacin de canales y seleccione la opcin PTZ.
b) Presione el botn PTZ en el panel frontal del DVR.
c) Presione el botn PTZ de control remoto.
2. Cuando observe la pantalla de visualizacin, mueva el ratn para operar la cmara PTZ o PT.
3. Para abrir los controles extendidos haga clic con el botn derecho del mouse o presione el botn MENU
del DVR/ control remoto.
Para ms informacin acerca de los Presets, consulte Preset & Trace (Ruta de rastreo) y Cruise Path
(Ajustar ruta de rastreo) en el apartado 4.2.3 PTZ .

INFORMATION (INFORMACIN DEL SISTEMA)

-System Info: Este apartado se divide en dos bloques
de informacin general del CCTV-960.
1. Informacin de la versin del software y hardware
del CCTV-960, adems de la cantidad de idiomas
disponibles, por ejemplo: Ingls, portugus, chino, etc.
2. En H.D.D. Info (Informacin del Disco Duro), la primer
cifra hace referencia a la capacidad (en GB) disponible
para grabar y la segunda cifra indica la capacidad total
del disco duro.
Time to full (hour): Indica las horas disponibles para
grabacin segn la capacidad del disco duro.
-Channel: Este apartado desglosa la informacin y
estado por canal.
No.: Nmero de canal.
State (Estado): Describe el estado del canal en
tiempo real, por ejemplo Recording (grabando) o Idle
(en espera por grabar).
Type (Tipo): Indica el tipo de grabacin que se realiza,
por ejemplo MOTION (por movimiento) o REGULAR
(por horario programado). Las siglas NC indican que no
hay actividad programada por lo tanto no hay tipo de
grabacin.
Rates (Tasa bits Kbps): Se refiere a la calidad de la imagen y del audio. A mayor tamao de tasa de bits el
video tendr una mejor calidad.
Para modificar este parmetro siga la siguiente ruta SET>RECORD> RECORD QUALITY>BIT RATE.
FPS (Frames por segundo): Es la medida de la frecuencia a la cual el DVR genera fotogramas (frames).
Mientras ms Frames mejor ser la calidad del video grabado. Tome en cuentra que este parmetro no se
ver reflejado en la visualizacin de cmaras en vivo sino en el video guardado.
Para modificar este parmetro siga la siguiente ruta SET>RECORD> RECORD QUALITY>FRAME RATE.
Size: Resolucin CIF (288 lneas y 352 pxeles por lnea).
Motion: Indica cuando la cmara est detectando movimiento, N (NO) / Y (S).
- Alarm Info: Muestra la informacin del estado actual

de la alarma.
No.: Nmero de canal.
Type:Indica el tipo de detector OPEN o CLOSE.
OPEN (N.O. o Normalmente abierto). El sensor debe
tener una salida constante de nivel de voltaje bajo. Si la
salida de voltaje cambia de un nivel bajo a un nivel alto,
la alarma se activar.
*CLOSE (N.C. o Normalmente cerrado). El sensor debe tener una salida constante de nivel de voltaje alto. Si
la salida de voltaje cambia de un nivel alto a un nivel bajo, la alarma se activar.

*State: Esta columna muestra el status de la alarma, NORMAL indica que se encuentra en espera de
actividades y ALARM seala que est activada.
- Network Info: Proporciona informacin de la

configuracion de la red.
- LOG View (Historial de grabaciones): En esta seccin puede observar el historial de eventos realizados
en el DVR, adems podr abrir y visualizar los videos para una mejor consulta.

Para realizar consultas realice los siguientes pasos:

1. Seleccione la fecha que desea visualizar (Mes/ao/da).
2. Filtre la bsqueda seleccionando uno de los 4 parmetros, All (todos los eventos), Operation
(Operaciones), Abnormal (Errores) o Event (Eventos) y consulte seleccionando el botn QUERY.
3. Aparecern los registros del DVR, para visualizar una grabacin seleccinela haciendo doble clic.
4. Para regresar a la consulta presione el botn EXIT. Para ms informacin sobre el uso del reproductor de
videos consulte la pgina 21, apartado PLAYBACK (Reproduccin de grabaciones).

Shutdown (apagar):
Esta opcin apaga el CCTV-960
de modo seguro.
Cancel:
Regresa a la Barra de herramientas.
Logout (iniciar sesin):

Permite a los usuarios iniciar y cerrar sesin en el sistema.
3.4 FORMATEAR DISCO DURO

Antes de realizar cualquier grabacin es necesario formatear el disco duro:
1. Inicie sesin como Admin e introduzca la clave de fbrica 888888.
2. Haga clic con el botn derecho del mouse para abrir la Barra de herramientas y seleccione SET.
3. Seleccione el men SYSTEM e ingrese a MAINTENANCE.
4. Elija el botn SET de la opcin HD MANAGEMENT para abrir la ventana de Administracin de disco duro.
5. En la lista de dispositivos aparecern los detalles del disco, seleccinelo y haga clic en el botn FORMAT.
6. Espere a que el proceso termine y seleccione QUIT para regresar al men System.
Si el disco no est formateado,

el sistema mostrar que el
espacio libre y el tamao
total del disco duro es de 0Mb,
en este caso no podr realizar
grabaciones
hasta
que
formatee al disco.
Todo el contenido del disco ser eliminado cuando sea formateado.

Al formatear el disco duro NO se perder ningn tipo de ajuste como: configuracin de grabacin, usuarios y
contraseas establecidas en el CCTV-960, nicamente se eliminarn los videos y datos extras contenidos en el disco
duro.
3.5 GRABACIN
IMPORTANTE: Para poder iniciar con la grabacin es fundamental que haya instalado y formateado el disco
duro, de lo contrario slo estar limitado a la visualizacin de cmaras.
En pantalla se mostrarn 4 iconos de acuerdo al estado de grabacin de cada canal:

Indica grabacin de evento accionada por deteccin de movimiento.
Indica que se realiza una grabacin por horario.
Indica grabacin accionada por la alarma programada.
Indica que se realiza una grabacin manual. Aparece cuando usted presiona el botn REC y el
DVR no tiene ninguna configuracin de grabacin (evento, horario, alarma).
El DVR tiene 2 mtodos de grabacin:
3.5.1 Grabacin Manual

Este modo de grabacin es usado cuando el DVR
no tiene ninguna configuracin de grabacin (evento,
horario, alarma).
Para comenzar pulse en cualquier momento el botn
REC del panel frontal o en el control remoto, aparecer
el icono [R] en los canales y el indicador comenzar a
parpadear sealando el estado de grabacin.

3.5.2 Grabacin programada (RECORD SCHEDULE)

1. Para comenzar a programar grabaciones acceda al men de herramientas presionando el botn derecho
del ratn en la pantalla de visualizacin de canales o seleccione la tecla ESC en el panel frontal del DVR.
Seleccione la opcin SET->RECORD -> RECORD SCHEDULE
.
2. Seleccione el nmero del canal al que desea aplicar la programacin en el campo CHANNEL (canal).
3. Seleccione el botn SET de la opcin RECORD SCHEDULE.
4. La pantalla muestra una cuadrcula, cada lnea es un da de la semana (Sun.-Domingo, Mon.-Lunes,
Tues.-Martes, Wed.-Mircoles, Thur.-Jueves, Fri.-Viernes, Sat.-Sbado) y cada cuadro es una hora.

Presione repetidamente el botn derecho del mouse o la tecla ENTER del DVR o control remoto hasta marcar
el color del tipo de grabacin en las casillas de hora y da, a continuacin se presenta el significado de los
colores dependiendo del tipo de grabacin:

AMARILLO

AZUL Horario (Common): Esta opcin programa el horario de grabacin. Es decir el CCTV-960 comenzar a grabar
cuando alcanza la hora y el da configurado.
VERDE Movimiento (Motion): Indica que la grabacin ser accionada cuando exista deteccin de movimiento. Tome en
cuenta que la sensibilidad puede ser ajustada, para ms informacin consulte la pg. 30.
ROJO Alarma (Alarm): Inicia la grabacin cuando se activa la alarma.
AMARILLO Evento (Event): Inicia la grabacin cuando se presenta un evento (deteccin de movimiento o activacin de
alarma).
BLANCO (No grabar): Para cancelar todo tipo de grabacin programada marque las casillas de hora de color blanco. Esta
modalidad es til si desea usar el CCTV-960 nicamente para monitorear.
TIPS: En este men tambin puede usar las teclas de direccin (para navegar) y ENTER (seleccionar) del
CCTV-960 o del control remoto.
Si presiona el botn de un da podr marcar todas las horas.
Puede asignar varios tipos de grabacin en los distintos das pero slo una modalidad por hora.
5. Si desea copiar la programacin a otro canal seleccinelo en el campo COPY PARAMETER (Copiar
parmetro a), de este modo los canales tendrn la misma configuracin. Si lo desea, puede aplicar los
ajustes a todos los canales seleccionando ALL (todas).
6. Confirme seleccionando OK.
7. Ahora el DVR est programado para realizar grabaciones en el horario marcado, en caso de que
desee detener la grabacin sin modificar el horario, simplemente presione el botn REC en el DVR o control
remoto y confirme la accin cuando se le pregunte.

3.6 REPRODUCCIN (PLAYBACK)

1. Para comenzar con la reproduccin de grabaciones deber ingresar al men PLAYBACK, existen dos modos:
A) Presione el botn PLAY del DVR o del control remoto.
B) Presione el botn derecho del ratn en la pantalla de visualizacin de canales o seleccione la tecla ESC del DVR
para abrir la barra de herramientas y seleccione la opcin Playback.
2. Aparecer la siguiente ventana, seleccione la fecha que desea visualizar (Mes/da/ao) y confirme con PLAY.

Recuerde que slo los das marcados de rojo sern aquellos en los
cuales se han realizado grabaciones.
Se muestran los controles y la reproduccin de los canales que

realizaron grabaciones, en caso de que desee visualizar solamente un
canal seleccinelo con doble clic.
Tambin se puede seleccionar una cmara presionando las teclas
de nmero 1-4 del panel frontal del DVR.
3. La reproduccin de grabaciones comenzar automticamente, en caso de que desee visualizar solamente un canal
seleccinelo con doble clic.
La lnea de tiempo contiene las 24 hrs. del da y existen dos modos de visualizacin:
Lnea general: Muestra en color amarillo las horas donde se realizaron grabaciones. Si desea realizar un
acercamiento a la lnea de tiempo simplemente seleccione el botn + o - para alejar.
Lneas de canales: Este modo se despliega seleccionando el botn DETAILS () y muestra las propiedades
de grabacin de los 4 canales. Si desea realizar un acercamiento a la lnea de tiempo simplemente seleccione
el botn + o - para alejar.

1. Play (Reproducir): Seleccione este botn para reanudar la reproduccin luego de haber usado la opcin Pause
(Pausar) o Step (Congelar imagen).
2. Pause (Pausar): Seleccione este botn para pausar la reproduccin en curso, para reanudar la reproduccin
seleccione PLAY.
3. Slower (Bajar velocidad): Pulse este botn para que la reproduccin sea ms lenta que la velocidad normal (X1),
si pulsa este botn nuevamente, la velocidad de grabacin disminuir a uno de los cuatro niveles.

x - 2 veces ms lenta que la velocidad de reproduccin normal.

x - 4 veces ms lenta que la velocidad de reproduccin normal.
1/8 x - 8 veces ms lenta que la velocidad de reproduccin normal.
1/16 x - 16 veces ms lenta que la velocidad de reproduccin normal.
Este indicador de velocidad se encuentra en la parte inferior derecha de los controles.
4. Faster (Aumentar velocidad): Pulse este botn para que la reproduccin sea ms rpida que la velocidad normal
(X1), si pulsa este botn nuevamente, la velocidad de grabacin aumentar a uno de los cuatro niveles.

2x - 2 veces ms rpida que la velocidad de reproduccin normal.

Este indicador de velocidad se encuentra en la parte inferior derecha de los controles.
5. Step (Congelar imagen): Seleccione este botn para congelar la reproduccin en curso, para reanudar la
reproduccin seleccione PLAY.
6. Exit (Salir): Regresa al modo de seleccin de fecha para reproduccin.
7. (Zoom -): Use este botn para alejar la lnea de tiempo (general o canales).
8. + (Zoom +): Use este botn para acercar la lnea de tiempo (general o canales).
9. Details (Detalles): Despliega y oculta la vista por canales en la lnea de tiempo.
10. : Adelanta la reproduccin 10 minutos en vista de lnea de tiempo con Zoom - y 1 minuto en lnea de tiempo con
Zoom +.
11. : Atrasa la reproduccin 10 minutos en vista de lnea de tiempo con Zoom - y 1 minuto en lnea de tiempo con
Zoom +.
12. Canales: Muestra los cuatro canales, estos estarn marcados con el color correspondiente al tipo de grabacin.

TIP: El men de PLAYBACK (Reproduccin de grabaciones) tambin lo puede abrir presionando el botn PLAY
/PAUSE del DVR o del control remoto.
3.7 BACKUP (EXPORTAR GRABACIONES)

Esta opcin le permite exportar videos grabados en formato .avi a un medio de almacenamiento externo (Memoria USB).

Para respaldar un video siga los siguientes pasos:

1. Conecte en el puerto marcado como USB (parte trasera del DVR) el medio de almacenamiento externo (USB).
2. Seleccione la opcin BACKUP en la barra de herramientas.
3. Seleccione el da de grabacin en donde se encuentra el archivo a exportar. Recuerde que slo los das marcados
de rojo sern aquellos en los cuales se han realizado grabaciones.
4. Seleccione el canal 1, 2, 3, 4 o todos (ALL).
5. Seleccione el tipo de grabacin (All-Todos, Schedule- Horario, Motion- Deteccin
de movimiento, Alarm-alarma).
6. Seleccione el botn QUERY (Consultar) y marque las grabaciones que desea exportar.
7. Presione BACKUP para comenzar la copia. Se mostrar una lnea de progreso
como muestra la imagen.
8. Una vez que aparezca la confirmacin de exportacin seleccione OK y
salga del men con CANCEL.
Retire el medio de almacenamiento externo (USB) y conctelo a su
computadora.
9. Abra en su computadora el medio de almacenamiento externo (memoria USB) para buscar los archivos
exportados. Recuerde que el nombre del video en formato .avi, ser el mismo que el DVR le asign. A
continuacin un ejemplo y su descripcin:

IMPORTANTE: En caso de no contar con suficiente espacio en su medio
de almacenamiento externo, aparecer la siguiente ventana, asegrese de
eliminar archivos a fin de permitir la exportacin.
Dependiendo del tamao del video, la exportacin podra tardar varios minutos.
Recuerde que los videos sern exportados en formato .avi con una resolucin CIF (288 lneas y 352 pxeles por lnea)

Despus de instalar el DVR y las cmaras, podr realizar los principales ajustes con la opcin SET de la barra de
herramientas; para ingresar a este men existen tres modos:

4.1 SYSTEM (SISTEMA)

4.1.1 Common Setting (Configuraciones comunes)
Cada una de las opciones se define a continuacin:
- Device name (Nombre del Equipo): Permite cambiar el nombre del
CCTV-960.
- Lenguage (Language): Ajuste uno de los 7 idiomas disponibles en el
sistema.
- Time: Ajuste manualmente los valores de Fecha y Hora. A fin de
evitar confusiones de los archivos grabados, es mejor detener la
grabacin antes de modificar la hora y fecha.
- Video Standard (Formato de video): Permite seleccionar entre el formato PAL o NTSC. Para Mxico y EUA use
NTSC. El sistema de video por defecto del DVR es NTSC.
-VGA resolution (Resolucin VGA): Seleccione una de las 2 resoluciones 1024x768 y 800x600 (PAL y NTSC) para
la salida de video en el puerto VGA.
4.1.2 Advanced Setting (Ajustes avanzados)

- Time format (Formato de hora/fecha): Permite seleccionar uno de los
4 formatos de hora y fecha:
1. AO/MES/ DA -HORA/MINUTO/SEGUNDO
2. DA/MES/AO-HORA/MINUTO/SEGUNDO
3. MES/ DA /AO-HORA/MINUTO/SEGUNDO (AM/PM)
4. AO/MES/ DA - (AM/PM) - HORA/MINUTO/SEGUNDO
Es recomendable que ajuste la hora y la fecha correcta, pues en caso
de que necesite comprobar algn acontecimiento crucial, esto brindar
veracidad al video captado por el CCTV-960.
-DST Settings (Horario de verano): En este apartado puede

habilitar (Enable) o deshabilitar (Disable) el horario de verano.
Configure la fecha de inicio y la fecha de finalizacin de acuerdo a su
regin.
Es recomendable que ajuste la hora y la fecha correcta del horario de
verano, pues en caso de que necesite comprobar algn acontecimiento
crucial esto brindar veracidad al video captado por el CCTV-960.

-User Management (Gestin de usuarios): Al ingresar a esta opcin encontrar la descripcin de los
usuarios.
Predeterminadamente el DVR tiene programado el usuario Admin, este ser el nico que tendr la
autoridad para configurar todas las funciones del DVR, es decir que podr restringir acceso a configuraciones
o asignar autoridad a usuarios especficos, adems podr crear o eliminar usuarios.
La clave predeterminada del usuario Admin es 888888 pero si desea modificarla consulte el
apartado Cambio de contrasea.

Importante, inicie sesin en el CCTV-960 con la cuenta Admin.
1. Elija el botn ADD (Agregar nuevo usuario).
2. En el campo USER ingrese el nombre del nuevo usuario, en
el campo PASSWORD ingrese una contrasea de 1 hasta 6
caracteres (puede mezclar nmeros, smbolos, letras maysculas
y minsculas).
3. Vuelva a ingresar la clave en el campo CONFIRM PASSWORD
y confirme seleccionando OK.
4. Al regresar a la gestin de usuarios observar el nuevo usuario
en la lista.
El nmero mximo de usuarios que se pueden crear en el DVR es 8, pero slo uno puede ser ADMINISTRADOR
(Admin).
Borrar usuario:
1. Seleccione el usuario que desea suprimir.
2. Elija el botn DELETE (Eliminar), cuando aparezca la pantalla
de confirmacin, acepte seleccionando OK.
3. Al regresar a la gestin de usuarios observar que el usuario ha
desaparecido de la lista.

Password (Cambio de Contrasea):

Para cambiar la contrasea de un usuario siga estos simples pasos
(Importante, inicie sesin en el CCTV-960 con la cuenta Admin):
1. Presione el botn derecho del ratn en la pantalla de visualizacin
de canales o seleccione la tecla ESC del DVR o control remoto para
abrir la barra de herramientas.
2. Seleccione la opcin SET y elija el men SYSTEM.
3. Dentro del submen ADVANCED SETTING elija el botn SET de
USER MANAGEMENT.
4. Seleccione su usuario y elija el botn PASSWORD.
5. Introduzca la contrasea actual en el campo OLD PASSWORD.
6. Introduzca la nueva contrasea en el campo NEW PASSWORD.
7. Confirme la contrasea en el campo CONFIRM PASSWORD y presione OK para guardar.
Ningn usuario incluyendo Admin, podr cambiar la contrasea de otro usuario.
Authority (Autoridad):
Seleccione esta opcin para determinar los permisos y restricciones a cada usuario.
System Set (Ajustar SET): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario tendr la
autoridad de realizar ajustes en el men SET.

PTZ Control (Controlar cmara PTZ): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario podr
controlar libremente la cmara PTZ.
Record playback (Ver grabaciones): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario podr
consultar y ver las grabaciones.
Record Backup (Exportar grabaciones): Al marcar esta casilla el usuario
podr exportar las grabaciones que desee a un medio de almacenamiento
externo, por ejemplo una memoria USB.
-HDD Overwrite (Sobreescribir disco duro): Permite activar o desactivar la modalidad reutilizacin de espacio en

disco.
Enable (Activado): De este modo se activa la funcin sobreescribir, es decir, cuando el disco duro est lleno,
se empezar a sobrescribir los datos ms antiguos.
Disable (Desactivado): La grabacin se detendr cuando el disco duro est lleno.
4.1.3 Maintenance (Mantenimiento)
-HD management (Administrador del Disco duro): En este apartado

podr consultar la informacin general del disco duro. Adems podr
formatear el disco conectado al DVR, para conocer ms de este
proceso, consulte la seccin Formatear Disco Duro pgina 18.

-Software Update (Actualizacin de software): Esta opcin permite actualizar el software del DVR a
travs de una memoria USB.
Asegrese de que el dispositivo USB est conectado correctamente y cuenta con las actualizaciones
correspondientes. Siga las instrucciones en pantalla para comenzar con la actualizacin.
Una vez que se ha completado, deber reiniciar el equipo para que los cambios surtan efecto.
-Factory default (Configuracin por Defecto): Para

regresar a los parmetros de fbrica seleccione esta
opcin y cuando aparezca la ventana de confirmacin
acepte seleccionando OK. Espere a que el sistema reinicie.
Los usuarios, configuraciones de grabacin y datos del disco duro NO se perdern.
IMPORTANTE: Luego de regresar a las configuraciones de fbrica, el puerto VGA quedar establecido
como la salida de video. Tome sus precauciones en caso de que use la salida de video compuesto CVBS.
- Export configuration (Exportar configuracin):

Seleccione esta opcin para exportar las configuraciones
actuales del DVR a un dispositivo de almacenamiento USB.
1. Establezca las configuraciones de ajustes que desea exportar.
2. Inserte una memoria USB en el puerto USB del DVR.
3. Ingrese a esta opcin Export configuration, en caso de
que no aparezca la memoria seleccione el botn Update
(actualizar).
4. En el campo de USB Device (Dispositivo USB) aparecer el ttulo que el DVR le da a la memoria, por
ejemplo Partition 1 y seleccione Export. Espere a que concluya el proceso.
5. Aparecern 2 pantallas de confirmacin acepte seleccionando OK.
6. Salga de este men seleccionando CANCEL.
7. Para verificar que se ha exportado correctamente la configuracin, abra la memoria USB en una
computadora y busque el archivo generado app.cfg.
Tome en cuentra que el DVR siempre exportar a la memoria USB la configuracin con el nombre
app.cfg, es decir, si intenta guardar dos configuraciones en la misma USB la ltima sobrescribir la
existente. Por eso es recomendable hacer un respaldo en su computadora. Tome sus precauciones para
evitar la prdida de archivos de configuraciones.
- Import configuration (Importar configuracin): Esta

opcin permite cargar una configuracin previamente
guardada en una memoria USB.
1. Para importar simplemente inserte una memoria USB en
el puerto (USB) del DVR.
2. En el campo de Select a configuration file (Seleccionar
archivo de configuraciones) aparecer el ttulo del archivo a
importar (app.cfg), seleccione Import.
3. Aparecern 2 pantallas de confirmacin acepte seleccionando OK y espere a que el sistema reinicie
para cargar la nueva configuracin importada.

4.2 CHANNEL (CANAL)

En este men podr ajustar de los canales y cmaras.
4.2.1 Display (Pantalla)
Muestra en pantalla el nombre de los canales.
- Channel: Seleccione el nmero de la cmara que desea
modificar el nombre.
- Channel Name: Si desea cambiar el nombre del canal
seleccione la caja de texto e ingrese la nueva descripcin.
4.2.2 Video Setting (Configuracin de video)
- Channel: Seleccione el nmero de la cmara que desea

modificar el nombre.
- Motion Sensitivity (Sensibilidad de movimiento): Permite
seleccionar los diferentes niveles de sensibilidad de movimiento.
Disable (Desactivada), Lowest (Muy baja), Low (baja), Middle
(Media), High (Alta), Highest (Mayor).
- Motion Area (rea de deteccin de movimiento): Haga clic en los bloques y arrastre presionando el botn
(izquierdo) del ratn. El color azul indica rea efectiva para deteccin, transparente significa inhabilitado. Haga
clic con el botn derecho del mouse para guardar cambios y salir.

- Event Handle (Manejo de eventos) : Esta opcin permite seleccionar el tipo de aviso que se activar en caso
de que ocurra un evento (Deteccin de movimiento).
Trigger record (activar grabacin): Seleccione las cmaras que desea activar para esta aplicacin.
Trigger alarm out (activar alarma externa): Activa la salida de alarma conectada en la parte trasera del DVR.
Trigger buzzer (activar timbre del CCTV-960): Activa el timbre interno del DVR.
Trigger email (advertencia a mail): Enva un correo electrnico a la direccin configurada.
Trigger zoom out (Activar zoom): Cuando ocurra un evento, esta opcin abrir automticamente el canal
seleccionado en la visualizacin pantalla completa (Vista de 1 canal).
- Primary Mask (Mscara de privacidad): Cada cmara puede definir regiones mltiples para proteccin de
privacidad, es decir, en pantalla aparecern bloques que censurarn un rea establecida en la vista de canales.
Para agregar oprima y mantenga presionado el botn izquierdo del mouse y seleccione el rea, para borrar
mscaras seleccinelas con el botn derecho. Cada regin de privacidad se mostrar de color gris cuando
realice una grabacin. Cada canal soporta hasta 4 reas.

Las mscaras colocadas slo se vern durante el proceso de visualizacin de pantallas en vivo y mientras
graba, pero no quedarn registradas en el video final.
- Video lost: Esta aplicacin permite activar una advertencia en caso de que se presente una prdida de video.
Trigger record (activar grabacin): Selecciona el canal de
grabacin, de este modo iniciar el registro cuando se produzca
una alarma.
Trigger alarm out (activar alarma externa): Activa la salida de
alarma conectada en la parte trasera del DVR.
Trigger buzzer (activar timbre): Activa el timbre interno del
CCTV-960.
Trigger email (advertencia a mail): Enva un correo electrnico a la
direccin configurada.
Trigger zoom out (Activar zoom): Cuando ocurra un evento,
esta opcin abrir automticamente el canal seleccionado en la
visualizacin pantalla completa (Vista de 1 canal).
-Color Adjustment (Ajuste de color): Utilice esta opcin para ajustar los parmetros de color en la imagen.

*Default (Por defecto): Ajusta los valores de color predeterminados.

4.2.3 PTZ
- Channel (canal): Selecciona el canal al que se le aplicaran los
ajustes.
- Protocol (Protocolo): Opcin que permite seleccionar el
protocolo segn los parmetros configurados en la cmara domo
(PT o PTZ). Samsung, PelcoO, PelcoP, Panasonic.
- Baud rate (Velocidad de baudios): Permite elegir la velocidad
de los baudios (1200, 2400, 4800,9600).
- PTZ speed (Velocidad de cmara): Ajusta la velocidad de
movimiento del domo (PT o PTZ).
- Address (Direccin): Permite seleccionar la direccin con relacin a la establecida en la cmara (PT o PTZ).
- Preset & Trace (Ruta de rastreo): Esta opcin permite grabar

y establecer hasta 255 PRESETS (Rutas). Un Preset sirve para
controlar la cmara PTZ cmodamente, para moverla a posiciones
definidas por el usuario cuando sea necesario.
A continuacin se explican los pasos para programar una ruta:
Grabar ruta
1. Seleccione el Preset que desea configurar (1-255).
2. Seleccione el botn REC de esta ventana y presione el botn derecho sobre la ventana de visualizacin.
3. Use el mouse para mover la cmara a la posicin que desea establecer. Realice este paso de modo conciso
y rpido.
4. Cuando llegue a la posicin deseada presione el botn derecho del mouse para detener y abrir la ventana
de configuracin.
5. Seleccione STOP>SET>EXIT.
Usar ruta
1. Para usar la ruta creada ingrese a la opcin PTZ en el men de
herramientas.
2. Seleccione el Preset que ha establecido y seleccione el primer botn
de CALL.
3. La cmara ir a la posicin grabada.
4. Para trasladarse a otros Presets grabados simplemente repita el
paso 2.
En caso de tener varios Presets establecidos la cmara realizar
un recorrido por todos los puntos.
- Cruise Path (Ajustar ruta de rastreo): Permite agregar (Add), borrar

(Delete) y modificar (Modify) un Preset.

4.3.1 Video Setting
- Display port (Puerto de salida): Conecte su monitor en el
puerto VGA y seleccione esta opcin para establecer como salida
de video o seleccione CVBS y conecte una pantalla en el conector
MAIN OUT a travs de un cable de video RCA (use un adaptador
con conector hembra RCA a conector macho BNC).
- Preview polling port: Sin funcin.
- Preview cruise time (Vista en secuencia): Selecciona el
tiempo para la vista de canales en secuencia, las opciones son
05s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 30s, 35s, 40s, 45s, 50s, 55s, 60s o Close
(Desactivado).
- Preview cruise way: De predeterminada est configurada
como Single channel, no podr modificarse.
- Screen adjustment (Ajustar pantalla): Ajusta la posicin de la imagen.
Selecciona la entrada

4.3.2 Audio Setting
- Audio On multi-screen (Activar audio en multipantalla):

Activa audio en vivo para visualizar la pantalla mltiple.
- Volume Adjustment (Ajustar volumen): Ajusta volumen de la
salida audio en un rango de 1 (bajo) a 15 (alto).

4.4 RECORD (GRABACIN)

- Channel (canal): Selecciona el canal al que se le aplicarn los
ajustes.
- Record Audio (Audio de grabacin): Si desea realizar
grabaciones con audio y video seleccione la opcin VIDEO &
AUDIO o elija ONLY VIDEO para grabar nicamente video.
- Record Schedule (Grabacin programada): En este
apartado se puede ajustar un horario de grabacin, consulte la
seccin 3.8.2 Grabacin programada (RECORD SCHEDULE)
para ms informacin.
- Copy parameter to: Esta opcin permite seleccionar el canal al
que desea copiar los ajustes.

*Not copy (no copiar).
*All (copiar a todos los canales).

- Channel (canal): Selecciona el canal al que se le aplicarn los
ajustes.
- Bit Rate (tasa de bits): Permite seleccionar la tasa de bits
256kbps, 384 kbps, 512 kbps, 640 kbps, 768 kbps, 1Mbps, 1.5
Mbps y 2 Mbps, este valor se ver reflejado en la calidad de
grabacin.
- Frame rate (imgenes por segundo): Ajusta la medida de la
frecuencia a la cual se generarn los fotogramas (frames), las
opciones son 1 FPS, 3 FPS, 6 FPS, 12 FPS, 25 FPS y 30 FPS.
- Resolution (Resolucin): Predeterminadamente el CCTV-960
tiene ajustado el formato de video CIF (Common Intermediate
Format).
NOTA: Las opciones Half 01 y 01 se encontrarn limitadas
nicamente a establecer los frames por segundo (FPS).
- Copy parameter to: Esta opcin permite seleccionar el canal al que desea copiar los ajustes.

4.5 ALARM (ALARMA)

- Alarm input channel: Selecciona el canal de entrada de alarma
para aplicar en la configuracin de grabacin.
- Type (tipo): Selecciona el atributo de entrada de alarma, incluye
Normalmente abierto (N/O) o normalmente cerrado (N/C). Cada
cmara tiene un conector de entrada en el panel trasero.
El usuario debe utilizar un sensor de voltaje de salida para
conectar la interfase de entrada de la alarma.
- N/O: Normalmente abierto. El sensor debe tener una salida
constante de nivel de voltaje bajo. Si la salida de voltaje cambia de
un nivel bajo a un nivel alto, el DVR se activar.
- N/C: Normalmente cerrado. El sensor debe tener una salida
constante de nivel de voltaje alto. Si la salida de voltaje cambia de
un nivel alto a un nivel bajo, el DVR se activar.
- Deploy schedule (implementar horario): Abre una ventana adicional para configurar el horario de la alarma.
Presione el botn derecho del mouse o la tecla ENTER del DVR o control remoto hasta marcar el color del tipo
de Alarma en las casillas de hora y da, a continuacin se presenta el significado de los colores.

*COLOR ROJO: Activa la funcin de alarma.

*COLOR BLANCO: Desactiva la funcin de alarma.

4.6 Network (Conexin de Red)

Las siguientes instrucciones solamente son una gua de referencia. Consulte con su proveedor de servicios de
Internet para conocer la manera de abrir los puertos y poder configurar el modem.

opcin de Bloqueo de Intrusos.
Una vez que ha ingresado al Bloqueo de intrusos seleccione la opcin de
Configuracin de bloqueo de intrusos.
Posiblemente se le pedir que ingrese su contrasea. Si no la ha

modificado, la contrasea predeterminada es la clave con la que se conecta
a la red (WEP key). Se encuentra entre corchetes debajo del nmero de serie
en la etiqueta del modem.

7. PTZ: Opera las cmaras PTZ o P usando los botones y presione Preset para recorrer rutas programadas, para
mayor referencia consulte el apartado Usar cmaras PTZ o PT pgina 15.
8. Info: Consulte el apartado Information (informacin del sistema) en la pgina 16 para conocer la descripcin de este
submen.
9. Snap: Presione para tomar una imagen fija (opcin deshabilitada para este DVR).
10. Backup: Consulte el apartado 3.7 Backup (exportar grabaciones) en la pgina 23 para obtener ms informacin acerca
del proceso de respaldar grabaciones.
11. Exit: Cierra la seccin.
12. Canales: Seleccione las cmaras que desea visualizar.
13. Device address: Muestra la direccin IP que el mdem brind al CCTV-960.
14. User: Muestra el nombre del usuario que ha ingresado local o remotamente al CCTV-960.
15. Mute: Habilita o deshabilita la salida de audio para monitorear el sonido al mismo tiempo que el video.
4.6.1 Configurar email
Con esta opcin el usuario puede aadir un

e-mail para poder enviar confirmaciones de alarma,
deteccin de movimiento y prdida de vdeo a 3
destinatarios. Siga las siguiente ruta para ingresar
y configurar esta aplicacin:
SET > NETWORK > ADVANCE SETTING > EMAIL
SETTING:
1. En el campo FROM (de) ingrese la cuenta de correo que enva el mensaje a los destinatarios, por ejemplo:
compaiax@mail.com
2. En los campos TO (para) 1, 2 y 3 ingrese los correos que recibirn las confirmaciones de alertas.
3. De acuerdo a la informacin de su administrador de correo, ingrese el servidor SMTP en el campo EMAIL
SERVER (SMTP), seleccione el puerto en el campo PORT y escoja la opcin Enable o Disable.
5. Ingrese la contrasea del correo (ingresado en el paso 1) en el campo EMAIL PASSWORD y confirme en
CONFIRM.
6. Presione el botn TEST para realizar una prueba, espere un momento hasta que aparezca la pantalla
de envo exitoso (Send OK) presione OK. Verifique que los correos agregados en el paso 2 hayan recibido la
felicitacin y confirmacin de configuracin.
7. Siga la siguiente ruta para ingresar a las opciones que pueden usar esta aplicacin y seleccione Trigger
email (advertencia a mail):

SET>ALARM> EVENT HANDLE
SET>CHANNEL> EVENT HANDLE O VIDEO LOST
Ahora cada vez que ocurra un evento recibir un correo indicando el canal, motivo de alerta, la fecha y hora
del acontecimiento.

CAPITULO 5 SUSTITUIR LA BATERA CR2032

La batera cumple la importante funcin de guardar la hora del DVR en caso de que exista una falla elctrica. Si la
carga de la batera del DVR es baja o nula luego de un corte de luz provocar que los datos se desordenen y que los
usuarios tengan problemas para encontrar grabaciones por hora y fecha.
Cmo sustituir la batera?
1. Detenga inmediatamente todas las grabaciones del DVR, apague el DVR y desconctelo de la fuente de alimentacin.
2. Retire los tornillos de la cubierta del equipo y jale hacia fuera.
3. Para extraer la batera presione el seguro y retrela.
4. Coloque la nueva batera con el polo + hacia arriba.
5. Coloque nuevamente la cubierta y conecte el CCTV-960 a la fuente de alimentacin.
6. Configure la fecha y la hora del DVR y comience de nuevo la grabacin.
CAPITULO 6 PROBLEMAS Y SOLUCIONES

PROBLEMAS
No enciende el CCTV-960 despus
de conectarlo a la corriente.
SOLUCIONES
Es posible que el adaptador de corriente est averiado. En este caso
acuda con un distribuidor para su reemplazo.
Probablemente existan problemas de hardware. En este caso acuda con
un distribuidor.
No ha dado formato al disco duro. El disco duro se debe formatear
manualmente la primera vez.
No puedo grabar
La funcin de grabacin no est activa o la configuracin es incorrecta.

Consulte el apartado 3.5
El disco duro est lleno y no esta activa la funcin de sobrescribir. Se hace
referencia en el apartado HDD Overwrite (pg. 28).
El disco duro est daado.
El CCTV-960 no detecta el ratn.
No hay salida de video
Desconecte y conecte el ratn en el puerto USB marcado como MOUSE.

La salida de video compuesto CVBS y salida VGA no pueden utilizarse al
mismo tiempo. Consulte el apartado Display port pgina 33.
Recuerde que luego de regresar a las configuraciones de fbrica, el puerto
VGA quedar establecido como la salida de video. Tome sus precauciones
en caso de que use la salida de video compuesto CVBS.

FEATURES
The 4 Channel Digital Video recorder allows you to record the signal from four different closed-circuit TV cameras
(CCTV) and to monitor them via Internet.
The video is stored in a hard drive (NOT included) in .avi format with a CIF resolution (288x352) with an Ethernet
interface to connect to the the network and 4 BNC connector jacks with a video output for the monitor.
The frontal panel has indicators that show when the equipment is on, recording, and when the hard drive is in use; it
also has controls to fast forward, rewind, pause, and record, and buttons to select the camera to be displayed on the
monitor. These operations can also be performed with a remote control.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
The DVR must be only operated with the appropriate power source, indicated on the label.
Do not place the DVR near any sources of heat, such as radiators, heating vents, stoves or any other equipment that may expose the
equipment to heat.
Clean the CCTV-960 only with a dry towel.
Do not obstruct the cooling vents.
Do not store or operate this device if may be exposed to water leaks or splashes. This could cause malfunction or electric shock.
Do not place heavy objects on the equipment or its accessories.
The DVR equipment is meant for indoor use.
There is a risk of electric shock if any non-authorized or qualified person opens the DVR cover.
Avoid installing the DVR anywhere it may be exposed to strong movements or vibrations.
Do not use or install the DVR in direct sunlight.
Make sure there is adecuate ventilation around the DVR.
Do not insert any object into the cooling vents.
Do not expose the equipment to extreme temperatures.
Make sure that the electric power where you want to install the DVR is stable. Unstable electric current could ruin or severly samage the equipment.
Keep the equipment away from dust or smoke.

Pull the plug from the wall outlet, not by pulling the cable directly from the equipment.

mixed with regular household waste.

Batter safety (remote control):

Do not mix new and old batteries or different brands.
Remove the batteries when you do not plan to use the remote control for an extended period of time.
Keep batteries out of reach of children.
If you come in contact with damaged or leaking batteries , take the following measures:
- If the leaked fluid gets in your eyes, do not rub them. Rinse them with abundant water and consult a doctor immediately.
- If the leaked fluid comes in contact with your skin or clothes, immeadiately wash the affected zone with clean water. Consult a doctor
if you notice any swelling or feel pain.
Safe Operation
Before turning on the device:
- Install the hard drive (more information on page 8).
- Make sure all components are properly plugged in (more instructions on page 9).
After turning on the system:
- Wait a over a minute for the system to boot up.
- Create the administrator account and format the hard drive. Otherwise, you will not be able to make recordings.
To set up the administrator account:
- When you turn on the DVR, it will ask you to log in. Select the Admin account and use the defaul password 888888 ("eight"

six times).
- Once youre logged in, you will see a screen that displays all four cameras. When you right-click or press [ENTER], a toolbar will appear from

which you will be able to select the menu (SET) and other options.
To exit the Administrator account:

Change the visualization mode: Use the key to toggle full-screen mode and select the camera you wish to see using the corresponding

button for each channel (CH 1 through CH 4 on the frontal panel or 1 through 4 on the remote control).

properly by aligning the tab on the side of the cable to the opening in the
DVR, otherwise you will not be able to connect it.

3. Connect the power cable to the hard drive.

4. Place the hard drive inside the DVR. Secure it in place with screws on
each side.

From view 1, double-click on the screen to

Scrolling:
In many cases, you may use the scroll wheel
to scroll through options in a list. Place your
cursor on the field you wish to modify and
turn the wheel to scroll up and down the list.

You can use the scroll wheel to quickly switch
between 1-channel and multi-channel views.
To do this, you must be in multi-channel view
then double click to select one channel. From
that single channel view, you can now scroll the
wheel to jump to and from multi-channel view.
2.6 CONNECTIONS
2.6.1 Camera connections
Connect the cameras video output to the input on the back of the DVR. The input is a BNC type connector.
2.6.2 Audio connections

2.6.2.1 Input
The audio input jack is a standard RCA jack.
The audio signal must be free of any source of interference, such as magnetic fields or strong electric currents.

2.6.2.1 Output
Should you need an audio output, use a BNC to RCA adapter and connect it to the audio source.
2.6.3 Monitor or screen connection
Connect a screen to the BNC output or a monitor to the VGA input. Use a BNC to RCA adapter and connect to
the video source.
2.6.4 Power connection
Connect the AC adapter to the power input jack on the back panel.
2.6.5 Ethernet connection
Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 jack to obtain remote access via Internet or Ethernet.
2.6.6 USB connection
The USB port can be used to connect backup drives such as USB drives.
2.6.7 PTZ or PT camera connection
Being sure to match the poles correctly, insert the RS485 cables from the camera to the RX and TX input jacks.

If necessary, use adapters (with female RCA connectors and male BNC connectors) for the audio and
video connections.
2.7 INSTALLATION OF ALARM

1. Follow the next connection diagram to know the correct alarm installation.

CHANNEL and select the input alarm that you want to set.
3. Select an operating mode to the alarm input.

N/O.: Normally open. Sensor must constant output low level voltage. If output voltage change from Low level to High
level then DVR action will be triggered.
N/C.: Normally connected. Sensor must constant output High level voltage. If output voltage change from High level to
Low level then DVR action will be triggered.
4. Select the Display Schedule option and set a schedule to
activate or deative this option.
*RED: Activates the alarm schedule.
*WHITE: Alarm schedule is deactivated.
5. Sets up a notification in case the alarm is activated: Trigger alarm out, Trigger
buzzer, Trigger email, Trigger zoom out.
In Trigger record select the cameras that will record.

If the alarm is activated, this will sound for 10 seconds after closed or open, otherwise this sound will continue until
you return to the configured state (NO or NC).

3.1 TURNING DVR ON/OFF

Before turning on the unit, make sure that all components all connected properly. Refer to section 2.6
Connections.
- Powering ON:
Turn on the DVR and wait for the system to properly
initialize. The DVR wi ll emit an alert to indicate
proper start-up.
When the system is initialized, a screen will be displayed
askingyou to insert an User name and Password in order
to operate the DVR. Select the username Admin and
type in the password 888888 (by default).

If you did not install a hard drive on the CCTV-960, the system will initialize normally and may still be used to monitor video,
except you will NOT be able to make any recordings.
After this, the system will display all 4 channels live, as indicated in the illustration below:

to change settings and operate the DVR.

- Power OFF:
Do NOT turn off the DVR when it is in normal recording mode by using the power switch.
1. If the CCTV-960 is currently recording, press the REC button on the DVR or remote control.
2. A window will pop up which will ask you whether you would like to abort recording.
Confirm this by selecting OK.
3. Once the recording icon disappears and the LED indicator stops blinking, right-click
on the mouse and select EXIT.
4. Select SHUTDOWN and power off the equipment when indicated.
If the DVR is not in recording mode, you may simply follow steps 3 and 4.

TIP: You can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to quickly scroll between 1-channel and multi-channel views. To do this,
you must be in multi-channel view then double-click on the desired channel. This will take you to 1-channel view (for that
channel) and from there, you may jump from 1-channel to multi-channel views using the scroll wheel.

You can also select the desired channel using the 1-4 buttons located in the frontal panel of the DVR.
Channel status:
The channel status is displayed in the top right corner of each channel view. The following are the icons you will see
and what they mean.

Motion detector. Displayed when the cameras detect motion.
Audio on. If a speaker is connected, you may monitor sound as well as video.
Audio off.
Indicates that the alarm has been activated.

This icon is diplayed when there is an event (loss of video, motion detection) or an alarm. Click
on this icon to diplay the description of the event. To clear this icon off the screen simply select
CLEAR.

1. Select the DVR channel where you will connect the PTZ or PT camera.
2. Select the Protocol (Samsung, PelcoO, PelcoP, Panasonic) on the DVR that matches your camera.
Note that these two settings need to be the same in the camera and the CCTV-960.
3. Select the Baud rate that you need, making sure to match the one in the camera and the DVR. The
options are: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600. And then select the PTZ speed, the options are 1 to 16.
4. Select the Address of the PTZ or PT camera.

If you wish to connect another camera, simply select a different channel and address.
Connecting PTZ or PT cameras

Before you get started:
- Press the two locks of this port with a screwdriver to be able to
connect the RS485 cables of the cameras.
- The RS485 cables of the PTZ or PT camera are what connect it to
the DVR and are generally identified by their color, purple for positive
(+) and gray for negative (-). For further information consult your
cameras specifications.
1. Insert the RS485 cables from the camera to the RX and TX jacks
in the back panel of the DVR in the corresponding polarity.
2. Connect the camera cable to the channel that you selected in step
1 of the instructions PTZ or PT camera adjustments. If necessary,
use a female RCA adaptor to connect to a male BNC plug.
3. Plug the AC adapter and cable to the camera to power it.
Using PTZ or PT cameras

1. Once the camera is connected, open the menu using one of the next options:
a) Right-click on the view screen and select the PTZ option.
b) Press the PTZ button on the DVRs front panel.
c) Press the PTZ on the remote control.
2. When you see the visualization screen, move the mouse to operate the PTZ or PT camera.
3. To open the extended controls, right-click on your mouse, or press the MENU button on the DVR or
remote control.

that display general information about CCTV-960.
1. Information about software and hardware versions of
t he CCTV-960, as well as the number of available

languages, such as: English, Portuguese, Chinese, etc.
2. H.D.D. Info (Hard Drive Info): The first number refers
to the storage space (in GB) available for recording and
the second number refers to the total capacity of the
hard drive.
Time to full (hour): Indicates the available, remaining
recording time until the hard drive becomes full.
&KDQQHO This screen displays information and status

of each channel.
No.: Channel number.
State : Describes the status of the channel in real time,
for example Recording or Idle.
Type: Indicates the type of recording in progress, for
example MOTION or REGULAR. The letters NC mean
that there is no prescheduled recording taking place,
and there is threfore no recording taking place.
(Kbps): Refers to the quality of the audio and video. A higher value means the recording will have
a higher quality.
RATE.
To modify these parameters, go to:
FPS (Frames per second): This is the measure of the frequency with which the DVR is generating frames.
The more frames per second, the better the quality of the video recorded. Keep in mind that this parameter
wont be reflected in the visualization of the live feeds of the cameras but in the video file that is recorded.
To modify these parameters, go to: SET>RECORD>RECORD QUALITY>FRAME RATE.
Size: CIF Resolution (288 lines and 352 pxels per line).
Motion: Indicates when the camera senses movement, N (NO) / Y (YES).

No.: Channel number.
Type: Indicates the type of signal, OPEN or CLOSE.

3.4 FORMAT HARD DRIVE

Before making any kind of recording, it is imperative to format the hard drive:
1. Start a session as user Admin and use the default password 888888.
2. Right-click to open the tool bar and select SET.
3. Select the SYSTEM menu and chose MAINTENANCE.
4. Click on the SET button under HD MANAGEMENT to open the control panel for the hard drive.
5. In the device panel you will see details about the hard drive. Select it and click FORMAT.
6. Wait for the formatting to run its course, then select QUIT to return to the System menu.
If the hard drive is not formatted,

the system will show free space
and the total size of the hard
drive will be displayed as 0Mb.
You will not be able to record
until the drive is formatted
.
All existing content in the hard drive will be lost when it is formatted.

When you format the hard drive, you will NOT lose any type of adjustment that has been made on the CCTV-960. This
includes recording settings, user info and passwords, etc. Only data and videos stored on the hard drive will be lost.

3.5 RECORDING
IMPORTANT: In order to start recording, it is fundamental that the hard drive already be installed and
formatted. Otherwise, you will be limited to viewing live video feeds and will not be able to record videos.
Each screen will display 4 icons that indicate the status of the recording on each channel.

Indicates a manual recording. Appears when you press the REC button and the DVR does not
have another reason to be recording (because of event, scheduled time, alarm).

3.5.1 Manual Recording

This recording mode is used when the DVR has no
previously set recording mode (event, schedule, alarm).
To begin recording, press the REC button on the front
panel at any time. You will see the [R] icon on the
channel and the indicator LED will begin blinking.
This signals that recording is in process.

3.5.2 Scheduled Recording

1. To program a schedule recording, go to the tool bar by right-clicking on the channel visualization screen.
or pressing the ESC key on the frontal panel of the DVR. Select the options SET>RECORD>RECORD
SCHEDULE.
2. Select the channel to which you wish to apply the recording schedule in the field labeled CHANNEL.
3. Select SET under RECORDING SCHEDULE.
4. The screen will display a grid with each row representing a day of the week (Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed,
Fri, Sat, Sun) and each grid square representing an hour.

BLUE > Schedule: This represents a scheduled recording. This means the CCTV-960 will automatically start a recording
on the configured day and time.
GREEN > Motion: Represents a recording that took place when the motion sensor was activated. Note that you can adjust
the motion detectors level of sensitivity by following the directions on page 30.
RED > Alarm:
Recording initiated when the alarm was activated.
YELLOW > Event: Recording initiated when an event occurred (motion detection, alarm activated).
WHITE > Do not record:
To cancel any sort of scheduled recording set the boxes on the grid to white. This setting will
prevent any recording and is useful when you wish to use the CCTV-960 simply to monitor live
video feeds without recording.
TIPS: In this menu you can also use the navigation buttons and ENTER (to select) on the CCTV-960 remote
control.
If you press a days button, you will highlight all its hours at once.
You can assign different types of recordings on a single day, but only one type per hour.
5. If you want to apply the settings from one channel to other, select it under COPY PARAMETER.
You can also apply the same configuration to all channels by selecting ALL.
6. Confirm by selecting OK.
7. Now the DVR is programmed to record at the selected times. In case that you want to stop a recording
as it is occurring, without modifying the schedule, simply press the REC button on the DVR or remote control
and confirm the action when prompted.

3.6 PLAYBACK
1. To start playback, access the PLAYBACK menu. Th
ere are two modes:
A) Press PLAY on the DVR or remote control.
B) Right-click with the mouse on the channel visualization screen or select the ESC button on the DVR to open
the tool bar and select the PLAYBACK option.
2. The following screen will appear. Select the date you want to see (Month/day/year) and confirm pressing PLAY.

Simple time bar: The recordings are displayed in yellow. If you want to zoom in and out of
the time indicator bar simply use the + and - buttons.
Channels time bar: This mode can be displayed by pressing DETAILS (o) and will display the properties for all
channels. If you want to zoom in and out simply use the + and - buttons.

9. Details : Toggles the time bar between general mode and channels mode.

This option allows you to export videos in .avi format to an external storage drive (USB drive).

To back up a video, follow these steps:

1. Connect your external drive (USB) to the USB port located on the back of the DVR. The port is labeled USB.
2. From the tool bar, select BACKUP.
3. Select the day of the recording that you wish to back up. Remember that only the days labeled in red contain
any recordings.
4. Select channels 1, 2, 3, 4 or ALL.
5. Select the type of recording (All, Schedule, Motion, Alarm).
6. Click on the QUERY button and select the recordings you wish to export.
7. Click BACKUP to begin copying the file. You will see a progess bar, as
displayed in this image.
Once the backup is completed you will get a confirmation message. Click
OK, then exit the menu by clicking CANCEL.
Remove the external drive (USB) and connect it to your computer.
9. From your computer, open the USB drive to view its contents. Look for the exported files, which will be in .avi
video format. The names will be that assigned by the DVR. This is an example of a file name and a description:

If there is not enough free space on the external drive to create the
backup, you will see this message. If this happens, be sure to delete
other files on the drive to free up space for your backup.
Depending on the size of the video, it may take a few minutes to complete the file transfer.
Remember that these videos are being exported in .avi format with a CIF resolution (288 lines and 352 pixels per line).

After installing the DVR and cameras, you can adjust their settings using the SET option in the tool bar. There are
three ways to access this menu:
a) Right-click on the visualization screen and select SET.
b) Press the MENU button on the front panel of the DVR.

4.1 SYSTEM
Each of the options is explained below:

- Device name: Allows you to change the device name of the CCTV-960.

- Language: Select one of the 7 languages available in the system.
- Time: Manually adjust Date and Time. In order to avoid possible
confusion, it is better to stop the recording before modifying date and time.
- Video Standard: Allows you to chose between PAL or NTSC video formats. In Mexico and USA use NTSC. The
default video format on the DVR is NTSC.
-VGA resolution: Select one of two available resolutions 1024x768 or 800x600 (PAL and NTSC) for VGA
output.
4.1.2 Advanced Setting

- Time format: Allows you to choose one of time and date formats:
1. YEAR/MONTH/ DAY -HOUR/MINUTE/SECOND
2. DAY/MONTH/YEAR-HOUR/MINUTE/SECOND
3. MONTH/ DAY /YEAR-HOUR/MINUTE/SECOND (AM/PM)
4. YEAR/MONTH/ DAY - (AM/PM) - HOUR/MINUTE/SECOND
It is recommended to use the correct date and time because in
case that a crucial event is recorded and needed for evidence, this will
give validity to the video captured by the CCTV-960.
-DST Settings: This option allows you to Enable or Disable the Daylight
Savings Time. Make sure your starting date and time are the correct ones
for your time zone.

-User Management: This menu item displays the users accounts and descriptions.
By default, the DVR comes with the account name Admin, and this is the only user that has the ability
to configure all settings on the DVR. This means you can restrict the rights of other users or grant
rights to specific users. This administrator account can also create and delete users.
The default password for the Admin account is 888888 but it may be changed. To see how, consult
the section Changing account password.

Indicates whether user has
the right to make backups.

2. In USER type in the new user name and for PASSWORD type
in the desired password, which must be from 1 to 6 characters
long and may include numbers, symbols, uppercase and also

lowercase letters.
3. Type in the password again in the CONFIRM PASSWORD

field and confirm by clicking OK.
4. When you go back to the User Management menu you will
now see the new user listed as well.
The maximum number of users that can be created on the DVR is 8, but only one can be ADMINISTRATOR

(Admin).
Delete user:
1. Select the user you wish to delete.
2. Click DELETE, and when you see the confirmation screen

select OK.
3. When you see the User Management menu, that user will

no longer appear on the list.

Password:
To change a password follow these steps (Note that you must
be logged in to the CCTV-960 under the Admin account to do so):
1. Right-click on the channel visualization screen or press the ESC
button on the DVR or remote control to open the tool bar.
2. Select SET and choose the SYSTEM menu.
3. From the ADVANCED SETTING submenu, choose SET
under USER MANAGEMENT.
4. Select your user name and click PASSWORD.
5. Type in your current password under OLD PASSWORD.
6. Write your new password under NEW PASSWORD.
Retype your new password under CONFIRM PASSWORD and click OK to save.
No user, including Admin, can change another users password.
Authority:
Select this option to determine the rights and restrictions of each user.
System Set: Checking this box gives the user the right to make changes to
the SET menu.

PTZ Control: Checking this box gives the user the right to freely control the
PTZ camera.
Record Playback: Checking this box gives the user the right to consult and
view recordings.
Record Backup: Checking this box gives the user the right to make backups
of recordings onto an external hard drive, for example a USB drive.
-HDD Overwrite: Allows you to enable or disable the overwriting of old files when space is needed.

Enable: This enables the overwriting function, which will overwrite existing files when the hard drive is full
and space is needed, beginning with the oldest files.
Disable: Recording will stop once the hard drive is full.
4.1.3 Maintenance
-HD management: This menu allows you to see general information

about the hard drive. It also allows your to format the hard drive that
is connected to the DVR. To find out more about how to do this, consult
the section titled Format Hard Drive on page 18.

-Software Update: This option allows you to update the DVR software from an USB drive.
Make sure the USB drive is connected correctly and contains the software update files.
Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the update process.
Once the update is complete, you must restart the system for the new changes to take effect.
To return to factory settings, select this

option and click OK when prompted. Wait for the system to
restart.
The users, configurations and data on the hard drive will NOT be lost.

IMPORTANT: After returning to factory settings, the VGA port will remain set.
Select this option to export the

current DVR settings to an external USB drive.
1. Make the settings that you wish to export.
2. Insert a USB drive to the DVRs USB port.
3. Chose Export configuration. If the USB drive does not
show up, click Update to refresh.
4. Under USB Device you will see the name that the DVR assigns the USB drive, for example
Partition 1 and select Export. Wait for the process to run its course.
Two confirmation screens will pop up, and confirm each by clicking OK.
6. Exit this menu by selecting CANCEL.
7. To verify that the configuration settings have been properly exported, open your USB drive from a
computer and look for a file named app.cfg.
Keep in mind that the DVR will always export to the USB drive the configuration with the filename

app.cfg, meaning that if you wish to save two configurations on the same USB drive, the new one will
overwrite the existing one. For this reason, it is recommended that you make a backup in your computer.
Take the necessary precautions to avoid the loss of your configuration files.
This option allows you to load a

previously saved configuration from a USB drive.
1. To import, simply insert the USB drive in the DVRs USB
port.
2. In the Select a configuration file field you will see the name
of the file to be imported (app.cfg). Click Import.
3. Two confirmation screens will pop up. Confirm both by clicking OK. Wait for the system to restart
and load the new imported configuration.

4.2 CHANNEL
This menu can adjust the settings for the channels and cameras.
4.2.1 Display

- Channel: Select the number of the camera for which you would
like to modify the name.

- Event Handle: This option allows you to select the type of notification that will be displayed in case that there
is an event (motion detected).
Trigger record: Select the cameras that you wish to perform this action.

- Primary Mask: Each camera can define different regions for privacy purposes, meaning that boxes can block
the view of sensitive areas to censor them in channel view mode. To add a privacy mask, left-click and drag to
select the desired area. To erase a mask, right-click it. Each privacy mask will be shown as a black box in view
mode. Each channel can have up to 4 masks.

255 PRESETS. A preset helps to orient the camera easily with a
previously defined set of positions that the user may use to move

1. Select the Preset you wish to configure (1-255).
2. Select the REC button from this window and right-click on the visualizatoin screen.
3. Use the mouse to move the camera to the desired position. Do this in a swift and precise manner.
4. When you arrive at the desired position, right-click on the mouse to stop and open the configuration window.
5. Select STOP>SET>EXIT.
Use route
1. To use the created route, go to PTZ on the tool bar menu.
2. Select the established Preset and click the first CALL button.
3. The camera will move to the predetermined position.
4. To move to other Presets simply repeat step 2.
In case there are several Presets recorded, the camera will UHYLHZ
them all.
- Cruise Path : Allows you to Add, Delete, and Modify a Preset.

- Display port: Connect your monitor to the VGA port and select
this option to establish it as video output, or select CVBS and
connect a screen to the MAIN OUT connector using a RCA cable
(use an adapter with a female RCA to a male BNC connector).
- Preview polling port: No function.
- Preview cruise time: Select the display time for channels in
sequential playmode. The options are:
05s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 30s, 35s, 40s, 45s, 50s, 55s, 60s or Close

NOTE: The options Half 01 and 01 will be limited only to establishing
the frames per second (FPS).
- Copy parameter to: Select the channel to which to apply the adjustments.

4.5 ALARM
- Alarm input channel: Select the channel to be used for the
alarm recordings.
- Type: Select the alarm type, Normally Open (N/O) or Normally
Closed (N/C). Each camera has an input jack on the back panel.
The user must use an exit voltage sensor to connect the alarm
entry interface.
- N/O: Normally Open. The sensor must have a constantly low
voltage level. If the exit voltage changes from a low level to a high
level, the DVR will be activated.
- N/C: Normally closed. The sensor must have a constantly high
voltage level. If the exit voltage changes from a high level to a low
level, the DVR will be activated.
- Deploy schedule: Opens a window to configure the alarm schedule.
Right-click with the mouse, or press ENTER on the DVR or remote control until you see the squares on the
date and time grid highlighted in color. Here is what each color represents:

Go to SET>NETWORK>PORT SETTING and in the HTTP PORT

field, type in a port with which to establish a connection with the
modem. In this example, we will use the port commonly used in this
type of application 80.
In the COMMAND PORT field, enter 6001.
In the MEDIA PORT field, enter 6002.
In the MOBILE PORT field, enter 6003.
Now, we must open these same ports (80, 6001, 6002, and 6003)
in the modem to be able to locally and remotely operate our DVR..
In the Internet Explorer address bar, enter the following address: http://home or http://192.168.1.254 which is the
address to modem configuration page. Wait a few moments for the page to load.
Under Local Area Network, you will

see all the devices connected to the
modem.
The DVR should appear as a device
titled with the IP address that was
previously assigned to it.

Once youve identified the DVR under the network devices menu, go to
Firewall Protection.
Once youve selected Firewall Protection, select the option Block incoming
attacks.
Possibly you need to to enter your password. If you have not

modified it, the default password is the WEP key you use to connect to the
network. You will find it in brackets under the serial number on the sticker
attached to your modem.
In this field, you will need

to select the option

1. Full: Allows you to switch between Full-screen and regular view mode.
2. Single: Select the visualization for a single channel.
3. Quad: Select the visualization for the multiple cameras.
4. Next: Change the visualization to the next camera (this applies only in single-channel view mode).

-Device parameter: Consult section 4.1 System on page 26 to read a description and see the instructions for this menu.

9. Snap: Used to take a still image (an option disabled for this DVR).

12. Channels: Select the channels you wish to view.
13. Device address: Shows the IP address given to the CCTV-960.
14. User: Shows the name of the user logged in locally or remotely to the CCTV-960.
15. Mute: Enables or disables the audio feed to allow for simultaneous recording of video and audio.

4.6.1 Set email
User can add multiple e-mail address of recipients

for alarm, motion and video loss notification.
Access SET>NETWORK> ADVANCED
SETTING>EMAIL SETTING to adjust this option:
1. Enter in the FROM section, the email account that will send the message to the recipients, for example:
xcompany@mail.com
2. In the fields TO 1, 2 and 3 enter the emails that will receive the alerts.
3. According with the information of your email provider, enter the next information EMAIL SERVER (SMTP),
PORT and choose Enable or Disable SSL.
5. In the EMAIL PASSWORD section enter the password (of the account selected in the step 1) and confirm
this information.
6. Press the TEST button to make sure to make sure that they are communicated, wait a moment and check if
the added emails received an email with congratulations and confirmations about this app.
7. Go to the next option of menu to activate and use this configuration.

Now every time when an event happens you will receive an email indicating the channel, warning reason, and
event date and time.

CHAPTER 5 REPLACING THE BATTERY CR2032

The battery performs an important function in that it keeps the time on the DVR constant in case of a power outage.
If the battery on the DVR has a low charge or is dead, a power outage could result in disorganized recordings and
cause problems for users who need to find recordings by date and time, as these will be inaccurately labeled.
How is the battery replaced?

1. Stop all recordings on the DVR, turn it off, and disconnect it from its power source.
2. Unscrew the lid on the DVR and pull it off.
3. To take out the battery, press the latch and pull it out.
4. Place the new battery with the + pole facing up.
5. Replace the cover, screw it on, and connect the CCTV-960 to the power source.
6. Set the date and time on the DVR and resume recording.

SOLUTION
It is possible that the power adapter is damaged. In this case, contact
the distributor for a replacement.
There may be hardware problems present. In this case, contact the
supplier.
The hard drive has not been formatted. It needs to be manually formatted
prior to its first use.
The recording mode is not activated or the configuration is incorrect.
Consult section 3.5
The hard drive is full overwrite mode is not activated. To activate it, refer
to the section titled HDD Overwrite on page 28.
The hard drive is damaged.
CCTV-960 does not detect the mouse.
Unplug the mouse and plug it back in to the USB port labeled MOUSE.
The CVBS video feed and VGA feed cannot be used at the same time.
Consult the section titled Display port on page 33.
There is no video output
Remember that after returning to factory settings, the VGA port is

configured as the video output. Be sure to make the necessary adjustment
if you need to use the CVBS video.
