Tea stall painting

This 37m long mural at Changi Airport Terminal 4 Basement level reminisces the old Changi days before Changi Airport was built in 1970s. From aeroplane-watching at Changi beach, to peeking over the fence of the Royal Air Force Station; From playing ‘tarik upih’ with village kids, to shopping and dining at the variety of shophouses lining Changi Village; The mural transports you to a charming old world brimming with new aspirations.

My paintings are mostly Oils and Acrylics. Many are a result of studying photographs or looking at daily life objects or spending time in nature. I try to understand colors, composition, shadows, relativity and perspective through my self-study. I am slowly coming into my own and developing my own style.

A rainy day in Cannanore, Kerala. A man with an umbrella stands in front of a tea stall, waiting for his cup of hot chai. The tea seller is busy preparing the tea, pouring it from one vessel to another with skill and flair. The aroma of the tea fills the air, mingling with the smell of rain and earth. This is a moment of comfort and warmth, a slice of life in India. ☕️🌧️🇮🇳
