I gotta admit, most of my time during my bear and puffin photo tour this past August was spent with… well, bears and puffin. 🙂 But, there are lots of other things to see there including this bald eagle.

Aquila chrysaetos, Golden Eagle, is a bird of prey living in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the most widely distributed species of eagle. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. They are sometimes considered the best fliers among eagles and perhaps among all raptorial birds. Golden eagles are fairly long-living birds in natural conditions if they survive their first few years. The oldest known wild golden eagle was a bird banded in Sweden which was recovered 32 years later.
