This is an Illustration I've painted for Cthulhu No Kami, an upcoming tabletop RPG at studio Deadcrows. That was quite a challenging scene to tackle! It had to render the scale of a mythical fight between Namazu (the creature sleeping under the islands of japan and whose infrequent movements cause earthquakes) and Cthulhu. It is a statement of sorts about the game's way of integrating the Cthulhu Mythos alongside japanese folklore and mythology. The image had to walk the line between…
