Reliable and Easy, with Some Caveats
The Kyser Quick-Change Capo has always stood out for several reasons. Let's dive into our experience with this popular accessory.
First off, our initial impressions of the Kyser Quick-Change Capo were positive. The build quality is impressive, featuring sturdy materials and a flawless finish. It’s clear that this capo was designed to endure, making it a reliable companion for both gigging and home use. We've used the same capo for years, and it has never let us down in terms of durability.
The main selling point of this capo is its quick-change feature. It’s super easy to change positions, which is invaluable during live performances. However, it sometimes struggles to fully encompass all the strings on a C-shaped neck, requiring a bit of adjustment.
When it comes to sound quality, the Kyser does its job well. It's just tight enough to change the pitch consistently without causing buzzing or tuning issues. That said, we have noticed that strings can go slightly out of tune more often than with some other capos. In terms of durability, this capo shines. Our Kyser has lasted around 6-7 years with no sign of the spring starting to give out, which is impressive.
Overall, the Kyser Quick-Change Capo is a solid choice for any guitarist looking for a durable, easy-to-use capo. It’s especially suited for those who need to make quick changes during performances.

Comfortable and stable
This is my favorite capo for electrics. I don't use capos often but this always seems the most stable and is easy to move with its grip.

My favorite capo.
I have three of these bad boys as well as four other brands of capos. Needless to say, I've tried a lot of capos out. The reason I have three of the Kysers is because I have found them to be my favorite. Their grip is just tight enough to consistently change the pitch of my guitar, but not so tight that it squeezes the life out of my neck. I have played with several capos that are too weak to really get the job done and suffer from buzzing or tuning issues. The Kyser just simply avoids these issues and thus I have three of them to save time when switching between guitars. A great capo!
good and stylish
mainly got this as it was free for the guitar bundle and also its very functional and stylish, very solid construction and doesn't hurt the guitar one bit thanks to the rubber parts, the capo works great on 12 inch radius fret boards which most acoustics have anyway, you dont need an adjustable tension capo. the shop didnt have black so i went for black chrome which is sort of aged and battered, with the edges of the capo having a bare metal look whilst the flat parts are a worn aged black, very nice. springs a bit stiff but al least all the parts are replaceable and should last all your life (if unabused)

Kyser Capo
Kyser capos are the best ones, don't waste your time getting the other ones.
Didn't think I've ever review a capo, but they save so much time compared to the screw on ones some of my friends have. Time is valuable, don't waste it!

What Can I Say?
Does It's Job! Does It Well! Capos Aren't Just For Beginners, They Can Be Used To Get Great Tone That You Can't Get Without A Capo. I've Also Found It Handy To Stick My Slide On. Really, Just A Great Capo. Remember, You're Never Too Good For A Capo!

My main weapon of choice
I play in a lot of different keys with my songs, and a lot of those I end up using capos for. I'm a BIG capo user. Many people complain about the accuracy of tuning when using these, and you know they may be right, but many listeners wouldn't even be able to tell. It's SO easy and simple to use and thats why I love it.

Not my favorite, but definitely works.
I've heard people say it looks attractive, but I disagree. I've also heard folks say it works really well, but I have found my strings to be out of tune more often than with other capos. I would like to think it has nothing to do with user error, since I have been successful with other capos ... not saying this one doesn't work but you gotta check your tuning every time you use it without fail. Also, not a bad thing, but I feel the spring is a little harder to squeeze than some other brands.

Have used these my whole musical career
They break after about 6 years or so, the spring will give out. But I like them, and think they look cool. Currently I have a red one and a purple one.

A classic tool, that every guitarist should have!
I feel like every guitarist should own one of these. Listening to The Smiths a lot, my whole life, it was only a matter of time that I would try playing their songs once I got really into playing guitar. This has proven to be essential for covering Johnny Marr's riffs...and has become a mainstay for me in writing and experimenting. Try one, you'll love it!

I have seen her use this capo on a few occations. I believe this is exactly the same as the kyser quick change capo for aucustic guitars but this one has texture on it, is reffled, so it looks very beautiful. I dont think this capo has a specific name for when it looks like this so i found it quite hard to find. If you serch for kyser 6 string clam capo, it still shows the standard black capo, but you can at least find it here!
