Description
Embrace the vintage allure with the Guild T-50 Slim, a reincarnation of the classic mid-1960s thinline hollowbody guitar. Authenticity is the name of the game with this instrument, boasting an arched maple back, sides, and top, all swathed in a sunburst finish that harks back to rock's golden era. But what sets the T-50 Slim apart is its thin 1.9" body depth, a design choice that, in tandem with the SB1-F single-coil pickup, delivers a sound profile that is as distinctive as it is reminiscent of the original T-50.
In terms of playability, the thinline hollowbody design offers a comfortable playing experience without compromising the rich, overtone-laden sound that only a hollowbody can provide. This guitar's neck is constructed from two pieces of mahogany, a choice that guarantees strength and rigidity to withstand the test of time. The soft U shape of the neck adds to the vintage feel and ensures comfortable playability.
Key Features:
- Non-cutaway hollowbody guitar with arched all-maple body based on a mid-1960s T-50 model
- Thin 1.9" body depth optimized for amplification
- Classic Guild harp tailpiece for stable tuning
- Iconic center-raised headstock and ivory binding for a vintage look
- Low-output SB1-F single-coil dog-eared pickup for a warm, versatile sound
- Vintage playing feel from the soft U-shaped neck

My dream electric!
This one has been my dream electric for a long time and it just had to be. Matt Corby, Grizzly Bear and Aidan Knight play it and their sound has really influenced me a lot. Now since 2015 you don't have to look around for an expensive 60's model anymore, because they are building a vintage model. Just the thing for me, because I'm not that much into 50 years old guitars anyway.

If you get an old one that's been cared for they really are very nice. My 1st grownup guitar was a Guild Starfire 1 from the 60s in that great greenish-burst... well cared for apart from some unavaoidable lacquer checking. The new guilds from korea or wherever do not hold up to the standard of that guitar. I wanted them to because I miss it and woulda liked to find an affordable starfire 2 or 4 to replace her, but the new ones are just okay.
Artist usage
Add artistRossen uses this guitar on a live performance of Grizzly Bear's "Speaking in Rounds" at Souncheck Live in The Greene Space.
Matt talks about the gear he uses in this Acoustic magazine article saying "I have a Guild 1965 T50 which I picked up for $700 in a second-hand shop! I’ll be taking the Guild on the road with me for the first time at the end of the year. It’s just got its own sound and I’m in love with it."
In this photo, there is Wargo's setup visible. In the comments, Wargo confirms that this is Guild T50 from 1966.
"The T-50 slim is great because it can achieve electric guitar sounds of course, but it can also be used more like an acoustic, making my life on the road much more simple. " http://guildguitars.com/artist-to-watch-lera-lynn/
He has been seen using his T-50 Slim in several live performances. However, it has recently been modified with a different pickup.
