Usage notes on the "I reckon" meaning, "I agree"? Is it a general thing, or specifically NZ(/Australian)? 217.186.118.156 16:42, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

"I reckon" can also mean "I think" in some contexts. Like, "I reckon that diving into that shallow pool would be a bloody stupid idea" 41.204.78.47 10:22, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

We've got that. It's sense 4. Equinox 13:52, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is it possible that reckon/reckoning in the sense of triumphal apocalyptic victory is actually cognate with wreak? It would amount to a conflation in Middle English between wreken and rekenen, with use of the former being reasonably misunderstood as one of the variant usages of the second.

Synonyms are listed somewhat randomly. --Gente como tú (talk) 21:28, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Moreover, most of the synonyms are included in the definitions themselves. Surely that duplication isn't necessary--either the definitions ought be pithier or the synonyms omitted. --SanctMinimalicen (talk) 02:08, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

The addendum to the request, added by another person on 28 October 2018, has not been addressed here at all, nor discussed at all, in almost 14 months of time. Moreover, it is simply personal opinion. I would reckon that the King James version of the Bible itself is among the commonest places that people encounter the word today. In addition, it is found in multiple contexts there, revealing several of the usages present in this entry. It does not strike me that the balance is undue. 50.126.101.70 00:35, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

In addition, I find the user who added to the request, XY3999, was later banned permanently from editing, for abuses rendered. 50.126.101.70 01:04, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
