I was reading a biography of Benjamin Franklin [Isaacson, Walter; Benjamin Franklin, An American Life; New York: Simon and Schuster; 2003, p. 348] in which King Louis XVI of France granted Franklin a personal bedchamber audience "after the levee." From the context, "levee" appears to be an event or activity, which doesn't seem to match any of the definitions presently given. Dick Kimball (talk) 16:10, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
