Hello. I noticed that you do a lot of copy-editing and fixing, but unfortunately happened to clash with other editors and edit war with them. Clades are always treated as singular. - To be frank, you don't know nearly as much about grammar as you assume you do, especially not in specialist subject areas. Correct usage is "Felidae is a family", not "are". Further to that. It appears that the issue has been discussed in the past, and my stance is not generally accepted on WP. However, neither is the alternative. In such a case, the choice lies with the originator of the text, and shouldn't be altered subsequently without compelling reason. (This is equivalent to the handling of British vs American spelling; see MOS:RETAIN) Therefore, please stop changing singular use into plural in existing articles. I have reverted recent instances. Just a small note: In most cases it is entirely correct to change numbers from "1 to 9" to words "one to nine" (per MOS:NUMBERS). However, when there are comparable quantities, they're either all spelled as words or all written as figures. I know that many Wikignomes like to make many minor edits, and to remain as anonymous IPs while doing so. However, even copy-editing comes with responsibility, one of them being to take great care not to alter the sense. However, at Housefly, you just replaced "for these reasons" with "so" - sounds innocent enough, eh? But you didn't spot that "these", plural obviously, referred to the past few sentences, whereas your "so" seemed to connect only to the sentence it was in, something different entirely.
