No women's ice hockey players are included in the ice hockey notability guidelines (WP:NHOCKEY) established by WikiProject Ice Hockey and, therefore, all biography articles must meet general notability guidelines for athletes. WP:NHOCKEY previously included women’s ice hockey players who participated in a Top Division tournament of the IIHF Women's World Championship or played in the Olympics but this is no longer the case.

Note: Any player who has won an Olympic medal in the modern Olympic Games is presumed notable per WP:NOLYMPIC.

Aim to have no stubs, i.e. starts at minimum, for the principal article of all international tournaments. Highest priority at this time is improving existing top-tier IIHF and Olympic ice hockey tournament pages. Long term, the goal is to create and expand articles for all major international tournaments at all levels.

List of national teams

edit

Teams listed in order of IIHF Women's World Rankings as of May 2023. An under-18 team being listed here does not guarantee that such a team exists, some national programs operate without a junior team. If you identify a national program that does not have an U18 team, please remove it from this list.

For national ice hockey teams not currently participating in the IIHF Women's World Championship, see the Emerging & Underrepresented initiative.
