Tarot
editCan you provide a WP:CITE:citation for your recent edit to Tarot? If it can't be referenced, it will likely have to be removed. --Nuujinn (talk) 00:23, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Hello. Thank you for following up on my Tarot edit. I had tried to find references that support my statement, but unfortunately the closest reference was a forum discussion in Arabic language. I do not have personal interest in having this theory visible for everyone who learns about Tarot on Wikipedia, but I thought that informing researchers of this theory may later on help someone provide references. Solid argumentation that can support this etymological theory or possibility would possibly require knowledge in Arabic, Hebrew, magic, and tarot, and this combination is rare to exist, but hopefully possible eventually among Wikipedia visitors. If you have any editing suggestions that can help keep at least a brief mention of the phonetic resemblance I mentioned, then I would love to do my best in editing. I only just feel strongly about the benefit of exposing any researcher on the topic to this possible etymological relationship (which is related to Arabic and Arabic has already been referenced several times in the sentences just before my edit). Without at least a hint about the theory or possibility in an encyclopedic resource like Wikipedia, I would be concerned that collective human knowledge & research about this topic may be deterred. - I would suggest that you post a note to this effect on the article's talk page with a link to the forum, that way interested editors may be able to follow up on the lead even if the material is deleted. It is not uncommon for material marked as needing citation to remain in place for quite some time, but having the data on the talk page will help preserve your lead. --Nuujinn (talk) 01:15, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Many thanks for the explanation. I'm rather new to the "talk" functionality, but managing so far, so will post the note on the article's talk page now as you recommended. Wisdawn (talk) 01:31, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
