Disambiguation link notification for May 31
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Robert Sadowski, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Romanian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Cyclist Jean Roth
editHello. I was wondering where/how you learned of the death of the former cyclist Jean Roth. I noticed that you added a death year. Another user then promptly reverted your edit, stating that it was unsourced. I did a brief search for a source, but could not find one. Could you be of any help with this? 38.95.13.133 (talk) 08:51, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I just added a source. It’s actually a newspaper, and it was given by a wiki User, "Jmax", on Jean Roth’s French Wikipedia page. Sinbabad (talk) 09:48, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply and the information. 38.95.13.131 (talk) 10:16, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello again. I have in the meantime seen that the same user has reverted your edit again as they do not accept your source (depsite the fact that the French and German wikis use it as a source). Separately though, it has occurred to me that if the death was announced on page 18 of the 3 April 2019 edition of the Blick newspaper, then the date of death can obviously not be 3 April 2019 as well. Blick is printed overnight and is a morning newspaper, so the death must have already occurred i.e. on 2 April 2019 at the very latest. I tried to get into the e-paper edition of Blick for the date in question but unfortunately did manage to do so. I think it is only available to subscribers. 38.95.13.132 (talk) 13:02, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 28
editAn automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ausberto García, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages 1959 South American Championship and 1959 South American Championship squads.
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
Can you check the date of birth you gave in his article? In your edit on the squads of the 1963 South America championship you gave a DOB of 16 July 1944 which is consistent with the statement that he was Bolivias youngest player in the championship (which he would not be, had he been born in 1933, so I guess that may have just been a kind of copy error). I do not speak Spanish but as far as I can tell the La Razon article does not specify a date of birth. In any case it would be good to give a source that does. Proofreader (talk) 21:37, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes 1944 is the right DOB I made a error while typing.
- For the source of the DOB, I could only find a Facebook post and I know that Wikipedia usually don’t allow Facebook as a source so I didn’t bother to put it as a reference. Sinbabad (talk) 22:10, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Sinbabad
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Albert Böhm, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

- Hello MPGuy2824,
- If I understand correctly (I don’t speak English fluently), you want this article to be deleted because of the lack of notability of Albert Böhm ?
- Granted, the guy is no Usain Bolt or Cristiano Ronaldo, but one of the goal of Wiki is to inform people and to be the more complete possible.
- There is hundreds, thousands of pages about obscure Olympians like Böhm.
- But more importantly, why do you care ? Sinbabad (talk) 06:37, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
Deletion discussion about Albert Böhm
editHello Sinbabad, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Albert Böhm, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Albert Böhm.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Alejandro Arce moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to Alejandro Arce. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 00:09, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- Who are you to judge that the subject of my article lacks of notability ? He won the Copa America, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world, and it was the first for Paraguay !
- As for the sources, I think I’ve got enough, as much or even more that for example your article about Mirko Tomianovic, an obscure Bolivian player who was only capped for the u17 team ! Sinbabad (talk) 00:41, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, Sinbabad. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. New articles must meet the General notability guideline, which states that "a topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Analyzing the sources in the Arce draft, we have ABC, Hoy, Radio Nacional, Lucarne Opposée, another ABC article, and IP. ABC does not mention him, Hoy mentions him once, Radio Nacional mentions him once, Lucarne Opposée mentions him once, the second ABC article mentions him once, and IP mentions him once. Not a single source has significant coverage of Arce, which is why I sent it to draft. As for the Tomianovic article, it was created over four years ago, and notability guidelines have tightened up since then, especially since WP:NSPORTS2022. While I appreciate your interest in my articles, you are certainly free to nominate it for deletion. JTtheOG (talk) 23:54, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- No I will not nominate any of articles. Unlike you, I respect other people’s work, even if I don’t find them interesting.
- The informations I give about Arce are accurate, so why do you care ?
- Especially since you seem to be a football fan, and South American football in particular !
- I didn’t choose any random football player, but one who actually won the Copa America, the first for Paraguay, so I think it’s worth creating a page, even if the sources are not enough thorough to you ! Sinbabad (talk) 00:11, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

- Note that I did not delete the page. However, since it did not have the sources to establish notability, I simply moved it to the draftspace to give you (and others) more time to find such sources before your work was deleted by someone else. Notability of sportspeople is not inherently earned by winning any achievement. JTtheOG (talk) 00:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- But the purpose of Wikipedia is to inform people. And like I said, I give correct informations about Arce. So again, even if my sources don’t meet all Wikipedia criterias, WHY DO YOU CARE ? DOES THAT BOTHER YOU THAT MUCH ?
- My article could be deleted because of you and I don’t really understand why you’re doing this. Sinbabad (talk) 00:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- And could you please not delete my references ? There are here for a reason : giving sources for the birth and death dates. Sinbabad (talk) 01:05, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- And also sources for the clubs the players play into. Sinbabad (talk) 01:07, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

- Please read MOS:LEADCITE. We do not need unnecessary refs in the lead section, which should only source statements that are "challenged or likely to be challenged". All of those profiles (NFT, Worldfootball.net, Footballdatabase.eu, Soccerway, Ceroacero, etc.) should be placed in the external links section. Notice how articles for players like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Erling Haaland do not have sources for things like birth dates, instead reserving sources in the lead sections for very select statements. - I’ve created about 100 pages, I always put references on the lead sections, and NOBODY has ever deleted them, you’re the first !
- On the contrary, I forgot on some rare occasions to do so and some users told me that references were needed ! Sinbabad (talk) 01:27, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

edit@Sinbabad:, I have already pulled you up in the past about not providing reliable sources and/or inadequate sourcing. In recent days I have found further edits where you've added death dates to biographies of living / possibly living people but not provided any sources to back it up. The latest example being José García Pérez. This is a major violation of WP:BLP and WP:RS and if everyone did this, there'd be no point in Wikipedia because its reliability would be completely zero. Please stop doing this otherwise I will report your account to the administrator's noticeboard, at which point you may be banned and every single edit you've contributed to date could get wiped. edit@Sinbabad: I have reverted your edit on Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark (born 1983), where you added that her wedding was "the first royal wedding celebrated in Greece in 60 years, since her parents’ wedding". Not only was this information not in the provided source for the sentence you added on to, this information is simply not true. Theodora's younger brother, Prince Philippos, married Nina Flohr at the same cathedral in Athens in 2021. Her older brother, Prince Nikolaos, married Tatiana Blatnik at a church in Spetses, Greece in 2010. Her cousin, Princess Olga, married Prince Aimone of Savoy in a ceremony in Patmos, Greece in 2008. Another cousin, Prince Michael, married Marina Karella in Athens in 1965. That's four Greek royal weddings between her parent's wedding in 1964 and her wedding in 2024. Please do not add unsourced information to Wikipedia articles, and do not add false information to Wikipedia articles. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 14:12, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
Hi. You've made an edit removing additional credits from this person's entry in Deaths in 2024 twice now, and it's twice been reverted. As the latest revert edit summary states, being an Olympian does not negate other domestic club and international credits, so all should be included up to the maximum of three. His status as an Olympian would only have taken full precedence if he had won a gold medal/become an Olympic champion. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 22:59, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well that’s weird, I’ve ALWAYS seen that the mention Olympic … took full precedence for a dead athlete who had participated to the Olympic Games (except for footballers) whether he had won a medal or not. Sinbabad (talk) 23:09, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- The vast majority of Olympic competitors have held only amateur status historically, although that differs greatly in the modern day. Deceased who are of the ages we are seeing in Deaths in 2024 usually never got to practice their particular talent either as a professional domestic sportsperson or an international non-Olympic competitor for their nation. The person in question actually achieved equal notability (or thereabouts) as a non-Olympian, so should be allowed the credits to go with that, up to the Rule of Three as is the norm. As I mentioned, if the person had become an Olympic champion on one or more occasion, THAT would have negated all else in terms of notability, and would have led to his description as an Olympic handball player followed by his year of gold medal winning. It has to be accepted that the Olympics are not the be-all and end-all in terms of notability, and a sense of equanimity exists within other spheres of the person's sport. Thanks.
