Information icon  Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from President of the United States into Akwa Ibom State Governor. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:10, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Luiz Carlos Schwindt

edit

Hello Margaretver. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Luiz Carlos Schwindt, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not all professors are notable, but if notability is in doubt then AFD is the appropriate process. Being a Professor is sufficient assertion of importance to avoid speedy deletion. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 21:25, 30 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Socking, paid editing?

edit

Are you a WP:SOCK of Inimfon? And are you paid to edit Wikipedia - if so are you aware of WP:PAID? Alexbrn (talk) 19:27, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Alexbrn: No am not a sock of Inimfon but i believe he/she is a user from my location. And i wasn't paid to edit, basically i have a website and i have a page that gives people the opportunity to submit Wikipedia worthy articles that should be added and for FREE. Most of the pages i've created are from my mails i receive per submission. Thanks for the concern. Margaretver (talk) 21:05, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Okay I think that raises a few issues - I've opened a thread at WP:AN/I to get input from the community. The link is here. Alexbrn (talk) 22:00, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Alexbrn: Okay, thank you. Margaretver (talk) 23:10, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Akwaibom-stub

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Akwaibom-stub requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Let's discuss a few things

edit

I wanted to take a moment to discuss a few things with you. First I'd like to discuss the paid editing policy Here is a link to some information on it. If you are paid at all to edit wikipedia you must disclose it. Do you work for the premium herald and do they compensate you for your wikipedia edits? If yes then it would be necessary for you to disclose this and not then clearly there is no reason for disclosure. I have a few more things I'd like to discuss with you but I'd like to give you time to respond to this.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 05:57, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Serialjoepsycho: I have read and understood the paid contributions, Premium Herald does not compensate me for editing Wikipedia but however i get paid every month for working in their IT department. Am looking forward to hearing and learning more from you Margaretver (talk) 10:11, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
It seems to me that you have a conflict of interest, and so should avoid direct editing of articles about your employer. The talk page of the article may be used to suggest changes. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:02, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: Am sorry but am not editing articles about my employer Margaretver (talk) 18:24, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
yeah it doesn't seem premium herald has a wikipedia article.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 20:22, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

So the next thing we need to kind of look at is copyright. On the page where you post content at the bottom you'll notice By saving changes, you agree to the Terms of Use, and you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. You agree that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license.. So this gives wikipedia the right to your content when you click save. The URL or Hyperlink attribution can be found on each revisions page example. Basically we need some clarification and for the moment you shouldn't post anything emailed to you. You could take article suggestions. Like if someone wants an article on the Leader of Nigeria as an example, you could create that article. Or if they suggested sources and the sources were reliable. Stuff like that. For the time being I would keep it to that. I'll look for a place to seek clarification about this issue.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 20:49, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Serialjoepsycho: Alright thanks i'll do that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Margaretver (talkcontribs)
I just recalled WP:AFC. This is articles for creation. Where people can request that an article be created. Maybe you can direct people to this if they wish specific articles to be created containing specific information?-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 22:46, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Serialjoepsycho: Can i add it to the [[WikiProject Akwa Ibom}} page? Margaretver (talk) 14:02, 8 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
yes but you migh consider adding it to you webpage as well.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 18:17, 8 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Serialjoepsycho: Thank you so much, i'll do that.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Margaretver (talkcontribs)
Ok, now I just want to point out a place where you can seek help. The teahouse you can see above. WP:ADOPT is a mentor program that you can join.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 03:55, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Serialjoepsycho: Can you adopt me as my mentor? Margaretver (talk) 11:00, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I completely support your effort but I'm not much of a mentor and I wouldn't be able to help. But I may know someone.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 12:28, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Serialjoepsycho: Can you suggest the person to me? Please. Margaretver (talk) 12:45, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've contacted someone and they will let me know soon.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 20:30, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Serialjoepsycho: Thanks so much for everything, i really appreciate it Margaretver (talk) 21:09, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion

edit

I notice that you tagged the page Buddhadeb Halder for speedy deletion with the reason "Non-notable biography". While that's a valid reason for speedy deletion in general, this page does not qualify for speedy deletion under that criterion because the article says he won the "Krisnashis Sahitya Award"; this counts as an assertion of notability. If you still want the page to be deleted, please consider tagging it with a speedy deletion template which does apply, redirecting it to another page, proposing the page for deletion if it appears to be an uncontroversial matter, or taking the page to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for discussion on the merits. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 17:33, 16 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
