Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Accessibility problems with station number icons
editHi. I previously removed the station number icons you added to Sōbu Line (Rapid) and some other Japanese rail line articles because they introduced accessibility issues, which I thought I mentioned in my edit summary at the time (here), but I notice you have re-added them. This is covered in the "Remember accessibility for the visually impaired" section of Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons, but the problem is that adding the station numbers in purely graphical form (i.e. using icons) means that the information will not be visible to readers using text-only browsers or screen readers. As I mentioned in my earlier edit summary, the problem can be resolved by adding alt text to each icon (e:g: [[File:JR_JO-19_station_number.png|50px|alt=JO-19]]
). I know this involves a bit more work, but would you be willing to do this? --DAJF (talk) 01:12, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- I am willing to do it. J4lambert (talk) 02:08, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- Then would you please do so? The same applies to the Yamanote Line article, which also introduced accessibility issues by replacing readable text with icons. --DAJF (talk) 00:47, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Please could you also add the necessary "alt" fields to the icons in the Keihin-Tōhoku Line article as well. --DAJF (talk) 00:50, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Johnny Au. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Toronto subway, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Please note that the verifiability policy mandates that unsourced material that has been challenged, such as by a "fact" tag, or by its removal, may not be added back without a reliable, published source being cited for the content, using an inline citation. The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article, and the burden is on the person wishing to keep in the disputed material. So if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so, following these requirements! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 15:13, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to E501 series, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. DAJF (talk) 06:49, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Removal of location maps from station articles
editHi. I've noticed that you have been removing the location maps from Japanese railway station articles, such as Nihombashi Station recently. You did not leave any comment in your edit summary at the time, so I have restored the map. Is there any particular reason why you removed the maps? If you are worried about the clutter created by the station icons, all you need to do is add | map_dot_label =
to the infobox together with the station name, so please consider this in future rather than just removing the map. --DAJF (talk) 01:06, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

editYou added the Network O&Os navbox to the ends of articles on PBS stations such as KQED, KERA-TV, WTTW, WETA-TV, etc. The truth is, PBS doesn't have "O&O" stations; they're not even bound by a common schedule. I reverted the edits accordingly. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 13:58, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
- You should add the Network O&Os navbox to stations owned by Ion Television, even though there about 40 or 50 of those. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 14:06, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hurricane Florence and the Machine
editA tag has been placed on Hurricane Florence and the Machine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Women's Championship lineage diagram
editI appreciate the effort, but there are issues with your diagram. For NWA/WWWF, it should be NWA/WWWF/WWF and until 1984. The next title should be "WWF Women's Championship 1984–2002" then renamed to "WWE Women's Championship 2002–2010". It was only very briefly known as the "Unified WWE Divas Championship" (not WWE Unified Divas Championship"). I would instead put "Unified" in parenthesis (or just have the diagram say unified but not include "unified" in the title's name). Drop "WWE" from the Raw and SmackDown titles. Your color code takes care of it being WWE. TNA's title was not a splinter title from the NWA title. That's WP:OR unless you have a source to back that. --JDC808 ♫ 03:42, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Tag Title diagram
editThere are also some issues with this diagram. The WWWF US tag titles were actually replaced by the "WWWF International Tag Team Championship 1969–1971" and then that was replaced by the "WWWF/WWF World Tag Team Championship 1971–2002" (and note it should be until 2002, not 2001). That should be renamed to "WWE Tag Team Championship 2002" and then renamed again to "World Tag Team Championship (2002–2009)". It should be "Unified WWE Tag Team Championship 2010–2016" (although the "unified" name only lasted one year). Then drop "WWE" from the Raw and SmackDown titles. The color code takes care of it being WWE. --JDC808 ♫ 04:31, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

editGoogle Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
editHello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

- Additionally, if Krystal did file for bankruptcy you did not provide any references, also the use of Fate in the Infobox is generally reserved if the company ceases operations and goes out of business. Not held due to...
editHi J4lambert,
I've partially undone some of your edits to Spanish Grand Prix, French Grand Prix and Monaco Grand Prix where you've put "not held due to...". For the French Grand Prix, I've never seen anywhere that the race wasn't restarted until 1920 due to the Spanish Flu so this would need to be cited (it's widely written that it wasn't held in the other periods due to the wars however). For the Spanish GP, there's no mention in the article as to why there wasn't a race in 1914 so again a source would need to be given to claim that after that it was due to WWI or the flu. As for the Civil War and WWII, sure for 1936 this is the case but not really for any of the other years (unless you have a reliable source which says otherwise) and definitely the delay until 1951 wasn't due to WWII as GP racing returned to Spain already in 1946. And for the Monaco GP the race initially ended after 1937 due to a lack of funds and was revived after the War so it wasn't really "not held due to WWII". A7V2 (talk) 02:23, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

American Idol color template
editHi there, @J4lambert:
I've just happen to find some editors or request page to request edit American Idol design templates for the FOX-era (the first 15 seasons) based on the new template in the ABC-era (post-Season 16). Overall, I see the colorful table making it more standardized in display rather than the one seen in the first 15 seasons. For the record, I also noted that I seen one Wikipedia page, SPOP Sing! (season 1), had also adopted the use of the colorful table. If you have time, could you happen to cleanup the first 15 seasons of Idol using the same color format in the ABC era?
Thanks. And I like the color format that you proposed. TVSGuy (talk) 10:37, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

editI've reverted your edit to Smallpox which changed "eradicated" to "inactive". Disease being "eradicated" looks much clearer to me - it uses a very specific terms which means that the disease was actively "killed" and that it can not reappear on its own (outside of lab accidents). "currently inactive" suggests that it could "activate" itself any day. – attomir (talk | contribs) 20:00, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Money printer go brrr
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Money printer go brrr requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 July 30#Money printer go brrr. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Newspaper infobox 'political' parameter
editI undid a few of your recent edits adding "political =" parameters to American newspapers. This parameter is intended for use on newspapers that are avowedly aligned with a political party or movement both in their editorials and in their news sections (not simply "accused of bias" -- but admitting and proclaiming that they hold a certain position). This is true of some European newspapers, though not of most (any?) of the mainstream U.S. publications. The purpose of this parameter has been discussed many times, including at Template talk:Infobox newspaper#"political" line and on the talk pages of several individual newspapers' WP articles, and consensus has been not to use it on mainstream American papers. Even in those cases where it is seen as appropriate (El País, for example), it should require a citation, as it is almost guaranteed to be challenged by somebody. ``` t b w i l l i e ` $1.25 ` 20:33, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

World Series television ratings
editHi – a few months ago you revised a chart in World Series television ratings to use the the Graph:Chart template. It appears to be broken; that is, no graph or chart is being displayed. Important Notice
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction
editThe following sanction now applies to you:
You are indefinitely banned from edits relating to elections in the United States, broadly construed.
You have been sanctioned due to repeated disruptive, biased, or unsourced edits, and failure to explain these edits upon request.
This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/American politics 2#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.
You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. – bradv🍁 17:03, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

editUnsourced content
editHi J4lambert, I reverted your edit: [4], because you added a numbering scheme to the List of presidents of Bangladesh article without citing a source. As noted in the article itself, there is widespread disagreement between reliable sources about how to number the presidents. I see you've been around Wikipedia for many years, and have received multiple warnings and a topic ban for adding unsourced content, so I didn't leave the standard warning template. Please make sure that all your edits in the future are verifiable in reliable, published sources, or you risk being blocked from editing. Thank you. --IamNotU (talk) 16:27, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

editThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. AldezD (talk) 23:16, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
The fundamental problem is not that you have at times made the mistake of editing in ways that are not altogether helpful, but that you have continued with exactly the same kind of problematic editing year after year, taking no notice of the very large number of messages informing you of the problems.
Innumerable times you have been warned about unsourced editing, since at least as far back as January 2009, and at least once you even responded by stating that you would "stop editing unsourced material, effective immediately", but more than three and a half years later you have not stopped doing so.
The number of unsuitable redirects you have created is mind-boggling. The first few may have been done in all innocence, but you have continued to do it for years, despite seeing over 100 of them deleted, some speedily, but many of them as the result of deletion discussions.
You have been receiving disambiguation link notices since at least as far back as October 2009. Linking to a disambiguation page is something that inexperienced editors do because they don't know any better, and that other editors may occasionally do as a slip, but after the number of times you have been warned about it you certainly know better. What is more, I checked a sample of the edits you have been warned about, and in almost every case you did not even go back and correct your mistake after being told about it.
Among your edits there is a proportion that are unambiguously vandalism. The first one I have noticed dates from October 2009, and the latest ones that I have noticed date from November 2020.
... and so it goes on.
Since innumerable warnings and requests to change your ways have had absolutely no effect whatever, I have blocked you from editing, in the hope that doing so will prompt you to at last start taking notice. As I indicated above, the amount of disruptive editing you have done is much more than enough to justify an indefinite block, especially in view of the number of warnings yo have ben given, but in view of the fact that you have previously been blocked only once, and then only for 48 hours, I have compromised, and blocked your account for just one week. I do hope you will take notice, and change your ways when the block is over. If you don't, you are likely to be blocked again for much longer.
I will stop editing until January 2021. Thank you for your attention. J4lambert (talk) 00:22, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
