About Me
editIT Consultant. I hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer science.
My main interests, outside computers obviously, are mountaineering and scrambling, motorcycles and chess. I have been hiking and scrambling in the Canadian Rockies for the past 20 years.
My highest Canadian ascent is Mount Athabasca at 3491m/11,453'. This is a snow/ice climb over glaciers with a brief stint of scrambling. Summitted on August 4, 2003.
My highest USA ascent is Flattop Mountain at 3,756m/12,324'. Just a strenuous hike.
Nepal
editThis user is a participant in WikiProject Mountains. |
2009
editI visited Nepal for the second time in 2009 where I trekked to north and south base camps of Kangchenjunga (#3 in the world) as well as did the Annapurna Circuit, crossing the Thorong La on the way.
2002
editI visited Nepal in 2002 where I summitted Kala Patar (5545m/18,192') in mid October. Unbelievable views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori. A few days later, I climbed Imja Tse (Island Peak) (6106m/20,033').
Along the way, I got to see a lot more big mountains such as: Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Kangtega, Khumbila, Kongde Ri, Kusum Kangguru, Makalu, Lobuche East, Tawoche, Thamserku
For future trips, I'm looking at Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro.

What is dab?
editThis user contributes using Mozilla Firefox. |
When doing a disambiguation session, I usually have something already in the clipboard for pasting in the most common replacement. So, like others have used "fmt" for format, "sp" for spelling, etc. I use "dab".
dab stands for "disambiguation" -- quick and easy to type with one hand while using the right to click the mouse on the "Save page" button.
