Talk:Yoker

Name attests to the longevity of Gaelic in the area"

Why is making this subjective, unreferenced point relevant to the topic? It's original research and nationalist agit-prop ( the reference top Nationalist agit-prop is politically biased by it's confrontational style). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.23.97 (talk) 19:49, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

NB. I have deleted the original research phrase until it is both referenced and a case is made for its inclusion in an article about Yoker, rather than the linguistic traditions of the region. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.23.97 (talk) 19:51, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Gerry Rafferty?

edit

Gerry Rafferty's obituary in the guardian, and a BBC radio programme both indicate that he wrote Baker St while living in Edward Street in Yoker, in his wife's parents bungalow. Does anyone have a definitive source for this? If so then please post here and I'll add something to the page -

Looks like Edward Street is in Clydebank rather than Yoker? (G81 1EY) Gilgamesh4 (talk) 12:03, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
