Timeline of events associated with Anonymous has something listed under 2012 labelled "Interpol Attack", if someone could pop over and copyedit it please it'd be greatly appreciated. i read the source and it seemed aight, i'd do it myself but this IP account is blocked and i don't feel like creating an account just to copyedit one thing (and also don't trust the other braincells of this IP) 149.86.69.66 (talk) 14:14, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

This article is heavily overcited. Someone tried to take care of my "Excessive citations" tag by simply redistributing the citations throughout the paragraph without actually removing any. I had only tagged a few series of refs with an inline tag, but those weren't the only overcited/refbombed sections. There are still single short sentences with multiple citations. We just don't need that many. See WP:Citation overkill. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 04:18, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
If your main concern(s) about citation overkill is readability, then an alternative method in the form of WP:CITEMERGE has been applied with the "Multiref2" on areas with citation overkill problems. Hopefully things are fine by now.74.3.163.33 (talk) 09:09, 4 May 2024 (UTC) Ban-evasion by WP:LTA/BMN123, using an open-proxy 184.152.68.190 (talk) 21:51, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hardly. The point wasn't the visual of a series of citations, it was that there are too many unnecessary and duplicate sources being used. We only need enough so that the content in the article can be verified. There is no purpose in adding 3 or 5 or more citations which say basically the same thing. Maybe read WP:TIMELINE. This is a timeline article. Items should be very brief. Check here for a list of timeline articles and check some of them. See how they are usually bulleted lists, and each item is very brief. Quite unlike this article which has bloated into a chronological list of Anonymous activism. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 09:32, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

See WP:TIMELINE and Timeline. This article reads like an advertisement or propaganda for Anonymous, and justification for their [oft times criminal] actions, rather than a chronological list of events related to Anonymous—too much promotion/advert content, too much prose and description rather than being a general timeline of events. I have modified year 2007 into one of the typical Wikipedia timeline formats. Feel free to jump in and summarize some of the other lengthy paragraphs and sections. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 05:45, 5 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
A month ago, I completed the summarizing of 2007-2010, but there is still much more that needs to be done (2011-2024). The work reduced the overall page size from 274K to 228K (a 17% reduction); reduced the word count from 17.1K to 13.4K (a 22% reduction). The remaining word count is still over 13,000 words which is much larger than it should be, and the WP:OVERCITE on the remaining years has not been addressed either, but would be addressed by trimming those huge paragraphs to simple event notes. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 20:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
