When I read the notification that it's been proposed the article on Avos be deleted, I decided to do so on my own by vandalizing the page, but then I thought that, surely, the article is not just about this Russian word and it's clear from the last paragraphs. It's about Russian mindset, mentality, culture. Some linguistic information was perhaps irrelevant, but not the whole of the article.

I would agree that this term doesn't seem to have any usage or relevance to English for those who are not interested in Russian society and culture, especially literature.
