editWhy does some clown keep removing Lorain's only pro-football player, Raymont Harris? Ignorant hack.
Harris is NOT the only professional athlete to hail from Lorain, not even the only professional football player. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.68.196.38 (talk) 16:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

CITY NAME
editWhy was Lorain originally named Charleston? Why was the name changed? Why was Lorain chosen as the new name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.161.244.56 (talk) 16:38, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
[ RESPONSE: Lorain City was not "originally" named 'Charleston'; it was originally named Black River Village beginning in the 1820s. ("Charleston" was a later name-change, officially applied in Jan.1837, but which its own citizens almost immediately rejected; and most of them continued to use the name "Black River village" until 1873.)
