Discography

edit

I'am looking for lucky dube's all album written

I added a discography for Lucky Dube. If there is any more matierals I am sure someone else can add it.

I have included all of Lucky dube's main albums released I have been following him since 1990 as far as I know these are the main albums apart from another released which had just four songs on it released around the time of Taxman

This page needs to be rewritten. the structure doesn't make alot of sense Stevo D 01:36, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Links to his albums Prisoner and Slave both lead to entirely different artists. someone please find the correct links. Stevo D

I have structured the article> I think now it is okay. So the cleanup icon may be removed. -- Hermitage17 06:15, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can someone please populate this page with information. There is more information about Lucky Dube that should be put here. The man is a star and deserves more than one page of information. - Rodger

A number of obscure, ungrammatical or child-like statements - still needs a lot of cleaning up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.184.173 (talk) 04:57, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Big clean up

edit

I have cleaned this up and sourced the content, as I expect it will be getting a lot more hits tomorrow as the news of his death disseminates. At the moment, the details of his death are sketchy (for example, some sources mention his son was present, other suggests his daughter was too - so I have gone for "children" at the moment). I think we should keep the section on his death neutral and brief until the details further emerge from reliable sources. This page has already been sourced by the mainstream media for info on him [1], so lets try and keep it tight over the next few days so we don't embarrass ourselves. Rockpocket 07:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Argh. The part they sourced as "according to Wikipedia" is actually a statement that is conflicting with the "Official Lucky Dube website," specifically how he got his name. (nowhere could I find anything about "poor health" at birth, only references to the mother's previous failed pregnancies). I fixed the Wik to cite the official site.

Conflicting information

edit

The introduction and the "Early Life" section in the biography offer contradictory information about why he was called Lucky. Can someone who knows the real story please fix this? Thanks Qwertyca 19:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I fixed what I could based on the "official website" and the CNN report. Removed the redundancy. Keeper | 76 19:21, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is no "official website" to base this information on.

The claim that he had anything to do with the Mormon "church" is highly contentious, and extremely doubtful. Where on earth was this sourced?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.95.222.235 (talk) 22:50, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nazareth Baptist Church "Shembe" Church

edit

Is there anybody who knows details of Lucky Dube's contributions to the Nazareth Baptist Church. This seems like significant information to me but I know nothing more than that he donated money and wrote songs about the church (Shembe is the way). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.164.201.93 (talk) 02:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Early Life

edit

The statement "It was from there that he was introduced to the Mormon religion" is highly contentious as it implies he actually became a Mormon. He may have met Mormons through family. He may also have met FW de Klerk but that would not imply he believed in apartheid. This unjustifiable and extremely dubious statement should therefore be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.95.222.235 (talk) 23:14, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

It would seem that 95% of references used in this article to support the statements therein are dead or non-existant. This page needs to be re-written and the contentious unsupported statements removed. Most definitely the unsupported reference to the Mormon 'church' which has been picked up from this wiki article and used erroneously in numerous other websites !— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.95.222.235 (talk) 00:10, 7 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect spouse

edit

Lucky Dube was NOT married to Thobekile Ngcobo 1989-2007.

I don’t believe he was ever married to her. He was single many of those years then married Zanele Dube sometime early 2000’s until his death in 2007 [[Category:Spouse (s)Iheartlpd (talk) 06:13, 8 June 2021 (UTC)]]Reply
