Proposed merge of Potato gelato into Ice cream
editIt is tagged notability for two years. It would easily merge into the ice cream article section on different world ice creams. Spudlace (talk) 23:04, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Agree on the condition that there are insufficient sources to prove its WP:Notability. Leo1pard (talk) 07:53, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Given the sources, List of ice cream varieties by country#South Korea (as a new section) would seem to be a better target.
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 11:37, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Ice cream in china
editA lot of articles on the internet claim that ice cream was also present in China. But China isn't mentioned once. Would it be better to also acknowledge China's involvement in ice cream? 83.134.130.193 (talk) 20:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

"Italian ice cream is gelato"
edit"Gelato" and "ice cream" are two different preparations; gelato (not to denigrate ice cream) is always served with fresh ingredients, while ice cream isn't, at least not always; I would recommend changing this sentence, or explaining why it should not be changed. Thanks. JacktheBrown (talk) 21:54, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi JacktheBrown, do you have some cites for "gelato (not to denigrate ice cream) is always served with fresh ingredients, while ice cream isn't" ? If you do, then I suggest you to be bold and edit the article accordingly. Best.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 22:12, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Wikaviani: I rechecked and the sentence is correct, but two different preparations remain, which is still specified; solved. JacktheBrown (talk) 22:31, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- OK, fine.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 08:35, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Self-contradictory?
edit"Mrs A.B.Marshall's Cookery Book, published in 1888, endorsed serving ice cream in cones. Agnes Marshall was a celebrated cookery writer of her day and helped to popularize ice cream. She patented and manufactured an ice cream maker and was the first to suggest using liquefied gases to freeze ice cream after seeing a demonstration at the Royal Institution." If she saw it at the RI, it's almost certain someone suggested it in order for it to have been present! Or does the text mean that the demonstration of liquefied gasses sans ice cream was what she observed? If the latter, then the sentence should say so. 136.36.180.215 (talk) 05:53, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
