Aligudarz County (Persian: شهرستان الیگودرز) is in Lorestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Aligudarz.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Shulabad-e Sofla merged with several villages to establish the city of Shulabad.[4]

After the 2011 census, Borborud-e Gharbi Rural District was separated from the Central District in the establishment of Borborud-e Gharbi District, which was divided into two rural districts, including the new Cheshmeh Par Rural District. Borborud-e Sharqi Rural District and Farsesh Rural District were also separated from the Central District to form Borborud-e Sharqi District.

After the 2016 census, Chaman Soltan,[5] Shahpurabad,[5] and Titkan[6] were elevated to city status.

The county is populated by various Lur tribes.[7]

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 134,802 in 28,668 households.[8] The following census in 2011 counted 140,275 people in 35,020 households.[9] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 137,534 in 38,503 households.[2]
