Wikimedia user group?

edit

Would this group have any interest in becoming a recognized Wikimedia user group? Essentially the group already qualifies, so it would be a matter of contacting the Affiliations Committee to seek formal recognition. I can answer any questions you may have about the benefits and such - but basically easier access to Wikimedia trademarks and official recognition and support from Wikimedia Foundation for your group's efforts. I am a member of Affiliations Committee and live near U of M - so I think it would be fantastic if Michigan Wikipedians was the first student user group recognized. Thoughts? --Varnent (talk)(COI) 17:59, 25 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Spring 2022 Meeting

edit

Hey everyone! I am looking to organize a Michigan-based Wikipedia event, perhaps around 3 days, where we could all meet around a certain theme or themes. Let me know what you think? I am mostly active within the cultural and music-based worlds of Wikipedia, so that is my expertise. This is the first time I am trying to organize something like this so please if anyone has any advice or would like to help me I am all ears. I am posting this notice on the Ann Arbor and Michigan pages as well. My email in johndvandevert@gmail.com if you'd like to reach out. JohnDVandevert (talk) 03:31, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
