Hi. Qoph may be transliterated from Persian as "g", because in standard western Persian (Tehran dialect) Qoph is pronounced like غ "ghayn". Einstein92 (talk) 15:45, 19 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is true that sometimes Qoph is pronounced [dʒ] in Gulf Arabic, but that is not very frequent. As I know it Qoph is mostly pronounced [g] in Gulf Arabic. Einstein92 (talk) 15:45, 19 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The standard spelling of the name of this hebrew letter, in America, at at least (that is, for the majority of the readers of this english language wikipedia), is "KOF" -- not "qoph."

This page should not have have a jewish classification, if it has arabic content and spelling, for the name of this letter. The name of this page should be changed [and the arabic content removed], or the page should be reclassified under an arabic language portal -- with a separate, new page created, for the hebrew spelling of the name of this letter.
