... that Romanian author Ion Biberi(pictured) rejected Marxism at the risk of unemployment, consoling himself that "man eats 20 times more than what he needs"? Translated: "Around 1947 I met [Ion Biberi] on the street and I asked him what he was writing on. He told me he was no longer writing anything, that he already had 20 published volumes and that he cannot make concessions to Marxism, since he does not agree with it. I asked him: How will you live? - The Japanese have determined that man eats 20 times more than what he needs. - Yes, but even this twentieth fraction, it costs money. - Still, I cannot collaborate with the regime. I met him again at the Writers' Union, and not once ever since. But I don't believe his position has changed. To sum up, he is an honest man, who spells out his beliefs, namely that he disagrees with the people's democracy."
Recent expansion and interesting hook. Article appears to be well-referenced in general, copyvio unlikely (and undetected by Earwig) due to Romanian language sources. AGF on hook being in the offline source. QPQ done so good to go. Juxlos (talk) 04:01, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
