History
editThe club was founded in October 1950 as SG Brieselang. In October 1952, a sponsoring company was assigned to the association and it was now called BSG Chemie Brieselang. During the existence of East Germany, the club played in 1952/53 and from 1960 to 1966/67 in the third-class football district league of Potsdam.
On 22 July 1997, the club renamed itself SV Grün-Weiss Brieselang. In 2012, the promotion to the state class[clarification needed] was successful, which was already won in the first season[clarification needed], so that Brieselang was promoted to the state league in 2013. After two years, the club achieved promotion to the sixth-class Brandenburg League. After Brieselang was the leader of the Brandenburg League table in the 2015/16 season from the fifth matchday, the club finally won the league with an eleven-point lead over Breesener SV Guben-Nord and rose to the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost (season North).
After two seasons in the Oberliga, the club was relegated to the Brandenburg-Liga at the end of the 2017/18 season, and a year later relegated again to the Landesliga Nord.
The women's department of SV Grün-Weiss Brieselang won the AOK State Cup in 2023 with a 1–0 win after extra time over the BSG Stahl Brandenburg, and thus qualified for the DFB Cup 2023/24.[3]
