Production
editIn 2011, it was to be adapted by comic writer Grant Morrison, but the project never came to fruition due to the box-office disappointment result of Dredd (2012).[citation needed] In July 2018, Duncan Jones revealed that his next project would be an adaptation of the British comic strip Rogue Trooper.[1]
In January 2024, the film gained momentum, as Aneurin Barnard, Hayley Atwell, Jack Lowden, Daryl McCormack, Reece Shearsmith, Jemaine Clement, Matt Berry, Diane Morgan, Alice Lowe, Asa Butterfield and Sean Bean had joined the cast of the film. Jones was confirmed to direct, write and co-produce, and the film would be animated using the Unreal Engine 5 tool. Principal photography had been completed at Rebellion Film Studios in the United Kingdom.[2]

editRogue Trooper is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2025.[3]
