Early life
editFielding attended Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, and later transferred to IMG Academy. As a senior, he converted 91 percent of his kickoffs for touchbacks and had a long field goal of 50 yards.[1] Fielding committed to play college football at Ohio State University as a preferred walk-on.[2][3]
College career
editAs a freshman in 2022, Fielding handled kickoff duties in all 13 games for the Buckeyes.[4] He opened the 2023 season as Ohio State's starting kicker, beating out Parker Lewis for the job after the graduation of Noah Ruggles.[5] In his first career start at kicker, Fielding went three for three on his field goal attempts and two for two on extra points, as he helped the Buckeyes beat Indiana.[6] In week six, he made all three of his field goal attempts and all four of his extra point attempts in a win over Maryland.[7]
