English: The reciprocating motion of the pistons is converted to elliptical motion of the central orbital shaft, this to rotary motion of the two fixed-axis shafts. A 60° engine of this type is more compact than a 90° engine. The orbital shaft has 2 narrow, large-radius counterweights simulating the "missing" piston pair, but lighter, and oppositely counterweighted gears compensate for the offset of the piston running lines, for perfect balance.
