Summary

Description
English: This is a former Armenian church. When I first saw it, it was used as a sports facility. In 2014 I found it being restored. In 2020 the city site has, translated "It is aimed to restore the Virgin Mary Church, located in the Cumhuriyet quarter of Kayseri Melikgazi district, to make it a special city library for researchers. The restoration project has been completed, and the restoration tender and interior design studies are ongoing." It is the former Armenian ‘Surp Astvadzadzin’ church (‘Mother of God’; Turkish: Meryemana), (re)built in the 19th century. It is located in the Kiçikapı neighbourhood (southwest of the Hunat Hatun Complex).
