KYOS (1480 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Merced, California, United States, the station serves the Merced area. The station is currently owned by Mapleton License of Merced, LLC and features programming from ABC Radio, Premiere Radio Networks and Talk Radio Network.[1] It is also part of the Oakland Athletics Radio Network. The station was established in 1936. In the early 60's, KYOS was a Mutual (MBS affiliate). The competition on the AM band in Merced was KWIP (1580, sunrise-to-sunset) with a "Middle-of-the-Road" format.

WYOS has been granted an FCC construction permit to move to a different transmitter site, decrease day power to 4,300 watts and decrease night power to 1,000 watts.[2]
