Solution for injection for cattle, pigs, horses and rodents.

Description  : Clear colorless solution.

Ingredients:  1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: buserelin-0.004 mg (equivalent to 0.0042 mg of buserelin acetate).

Excipients: benzyl alcohol, sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium hydroxide, water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:  ATC-vet  classification code:  QH01CA09 Gonadotropin-releasing hormones. Buserelin peptide, a synthetic analogue of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogue. The mechanism of action of Veterelin is connected with physiological and endocrinological action of gonadotropin-releasing hormone. GnRH passes the hypothalamus through the portal vessels of the pituitary gland and enters its anterior lobe, where it induces the secretion of two gonadotropic hormones (FSH and LH) in the peripheral blood. They cause the maturation of follicles in the ovaries, ovulation and luteinization in the ovary. After intravenous administration, buserelin is rapidly degraded: the half-life is 3 to 4.5 minutes in rats and 12 minutes in guinea pigs. Buserelin accumulates in the pituitary gland, liver and kidneys. In the liver and kidneys, the substance is broken down by enzymes into small peptide fragments with little biological activity. The main route of excretion is urine.

Usage:  Cows:  For induction of ovulation and treatment of its delay. Treatment (overcoming) of pathological anestrus. Treatment of follicular cysts with or without symptoms of nymphomania. Improving the level of fertilization of the egg during artificial insemination, as well as after synchronization of estrus with an analogue of PGF2a. The result may in one way or another depend on the conditions of fertilization.

Pigs, first-born sows: For induction of ovulation after synchronization of estrus with a progestogen analogue (altrenogest) for the purpose of artificial insemination.

Mares:  Stimulation of ovulation and thus synchronization of ovulation immediately before mating. Treatment of follicular cysts with or without symptoms of nymphomania.

Female rodents: Improving the level of fertilization of the egg and stimulation of ovulation in postpartum fertilization.

Dosage:  Cattle, horses and rodents are recommended intramuscular injection, but can also be administered intravenously or subcutaneously. Pigs are recommended to be administered intramuscularly, but can also be administered intravenously.

The drug is administered once. It is recommended to dial from the vial a maximum of 20 times.

Contraindications:  Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effect:  None.

Special precautions for use:  Treatment with GnRH analogues is only symptomatic; the main causes of fertility decay cannot be eliminated by this treatment. Use of the product contrary to these recommendations may lead to the formation of follicular cysts, which may adversely affect fertilization and productivity.

Use during pregnancy and lactation: No  restrictions.

Withdrawal period:  Meat and offal: 0 days. Milk 0 days.

Warnings for persons and service personnel:  Avoid contact of the drug with skin and mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes or skin, rinse with plenty of water. Wash hands and exposed skin after use with soap and water, as GnRH analogues are absorbed by the skin. Pregnant women should avoid contact with the drug, as in studies in laboratory animals, the drug was embryotoxic. Carefully enter the drug to avoid self-injection. At self-injection by drug it is necessary to address for medical care, having with itself a leaflet-tab of drug.

Product: Transparent glass vials of 10 ml, with a rubber stopper made of bromobutol and an aluminum capsule with a ring that breaks off when opened, blue. The package contains 5 vials of 10 ml.

Storage:  Dry dark, out of reach of children, place at a temperature from 0 to 25 C. Shelf life -24 months. After the first withdrawal from the vial, the drug should be used within 8 hours.
