Hi, I had already placed a CSD tag for Rob Flaiani Jr.. Additionally, it doesn't matter if it's one tag or 3, it gets listed in the same place. I just wanted to let you know so you don't need to waste time and effort next time. Happy editing. Hobbeslover talk/contribs 23:56, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Joseph_J._Kelly.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Elementary school AFD

[edit]

Are you familiar with how to add listings to an AFD? In each additional article, add (in double brackets) "subst:afd|Westwood Elementary School (Coquitlam)". Then add a list of the additional articles to the AFD discussion page. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Hewlett-Packard products, for an example. --Brianyoumans 20:15, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it is evident from the comments in the AFD that people do not understand that you intend this to be an AFD on all of the articles. I also think that people would object on procedural grounds that an AFD notice on every single article was necessary (at least, I have never seen an AFD done like that, and I tend to haunt AFD a fair amount). I know it is a big job; I would recommend doing them in batches. An example would be the batches of mast or tower articles that were done fairly recently; every one was noticed individually, even though there were many dozens. --Brianyoumans 23:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Just a quick note to say I'm very sympathetic to many of your views, particularly on schools. It's always a pleasure to see you contributing to an AfD debate.

Concerning your creation of a redirect on this page, I have reverted the edit. The result of the AfD was keep on the condition that it be expanded. Image:D'AngeloLogo.jpg

[edit]

Hello, Soltak. I noticed you've been fighting with BetacommandBot recently about Image:D'AngeloLogo.jpg. Since BetacommandBot is just a bot, I don't think you're going to win this one; it will keep adding a notice that the image has no fair-use rationale, no matter how many times you delete the notice.

Please read the {{non-free logo}} tag carefully:

This tag is meaningless without an accompanying fair use rationale which must be unique to the usage of THIS image in each article in which it is used.

The image description page for Image:D'AngeloLogo.jpg does not have a fair-use rationale, and that's why BetacommandBot keeps tagging it. You will need to write a rationale. The {{non-free logo}} tag is not sufficient by itself.

Please let me know if you have any questions. —Bkell (talk) 00:10, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:APULogo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC). Orphaned non-free media (Image:UWALogo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UWALogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Joseph_J._Kelly.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Joseph_J._Kelly.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Typo redirect Carelli

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Carelli, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Carelli is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Carelli, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi, I admire your effort on publishing high level stuff on wiki; but I think there is at least a mistake in your article "Notation for theoretic scheduling problems".

I believe you should have written "duedates" instead of "deadlines" deadlines are noted (d with a bar above it, not fractions...) and must not be reached. duedates, , are I think what you talk about in your article.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, Soltak!

My name is Daniel, and I'm a senior at Harvard writing an undergraduate thesis on Wikipedia. One chapter of my thesis will center around Wikipedia's notability policy; I'm particularly curious about the inclusionism vs. deletionism debate that has played out among Wikipedia editors.

I see that you've written about deletionism in the past. I'm not sure how active you are on Wikipedia anymore, but if you see this, would you mind if I sent you a few questions (via email or right on here) about your views on deletionism and how you approach the question of notability?

Thanks so much!

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:30, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
