To do list

[edit]

These are improvements that could be made if anyone has time:

  • Provide more information (discussion, progress) for each indicator. Scour all the links on the HLPF website.
  • Add some images and maps for the indicators (from Wikimedia Commons)
  • Work on the lead to make it better summary of the article.
  • Work on the background section but don't put more information on climate change in general, as there are enough Wikipedia articles on that (make sure they are well linked). Instead, focus specifically on SDG 13 and its indicators.
  • Improve readability, make sentences easier to understand for laypersons.
  • Find good progress reports for SDG 13.
  • Add more to what other SDGs are linked to SDG 13, like SDG 14, and how it connectsDyoshimura (talk) 06:00, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Try to add more to target 13.2Dyoshimura (talk) 06:00, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Provide detail and references to the section on "linkages with other SDGs"
  • Find progress information for some of the indicators which so far don't have progress information provided.
  • Add more wikilinks to other articles in Wikipedia and vice versa (link back to SDG 13 from those other articles).
  • Make sure all the relevant other Wikipedia articles on all the different climate change topics are wikilinked.
  • Improve (and probably shorten) the section on organizations. This should be streamlined more to SDG 13 in particular.
  • Find more references that need to be cited. EMsmile (talk) 13:41, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Create section on impacts of climate change so information on progress can be shown and links to other pertaining topics can be created.

Responses to the to-do list

[edit]

To respond to one of the tasks in the to-do list below, I added more linkages with other SDGs. Hoatranyamamoto (talk) 19:02, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Changed some of the words and terms to make the sentences flow better and allow the reader to better grasp the information. Not.Sicko (talk) 00:05, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Added more information about target 13.2 and how many countries have signed onto environmental agreementsNot.Sicko (talk) 03:23, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I added three international organizations which are working on climate action and made links to these organizations.
I updated outdated information about worldwide temperatures in the first section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hinaebata (talkcontribs) 00:59, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I continued to add more links to other SDGs! D0T1ro (talk) 19:34, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Past environment movements

[edit]

I have an idea of adding "past environment movements" under the Background section. What do you think about it? Hoatranyamamoto (talk) 00:19, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think this would digress too far from the SDG 13 topic. It could be added to another article somewhere (if it's not there already). EMsmile (talk) 14:12, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In depth revisions

[edit]

I am considering revising this article as part of a university course. In doing this, I would expand targets 13.1-3 and make their goals more understandable to the general public. Additionally, I would add more references and information to the monitoring and problems sections. The source below is an example of a possible addition to the problems sections. [1]

Would this be an advisable editing plan? D0T1ro (talk) 17:39, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This article certainly needs some work. But I don't know what you mean with "make their goals more understandable to the general public"? Do you mean the indicators? Also, I don't understand how exactly you would use that particular reference. Does it have a URL, is it easily accessible? EMsmile (talk) 20:32, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I decided to work on another article! Thank you for the advice (and sorry late response). I don't totally know how (or if I should) to delete this thread, and again appreciate the feedback! D0T1ro (talk) 01:36, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
