Hybrid ? Patent ?

[edit]

Is this a hybrid tomato ?

Who is the seed creator ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.103.140.34 (talk) 09:19, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is an OP variety created by Tom Wagner ~ 50 +/- years ago. He first released it in 1983. It has been stable long enough that many people consider it an heirloom. The question being what exactly is the definition of "heirloom"? 25 years? 50 years? 100 years? This tomato has been stable and released to the public over 30 years, but was in Tom's private collection at least 15 years prior to that. Redddbaron (talk) 17:29, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
