Curious - could this be moved to mainspace?
[edit]Considering that free practice is now live as of this topic's publication, and the race happening is very soon, I'm curious; I wonder if we could move the page to 2023 Monaco Grand Prix (this page currently redirects to 2023 Formula One World Championship) - or if the regular draft rules apply. (Apologies if I sound unfamiliar with drafts; I'm not overly familiar with them.) FearfulWarpII (talk) 12:00, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- I agree; I don't see the point in creating drafts for the F1 Grand Prix, since I can't imagine such an article being deleted, and after the weekend is over, the more information there will be. In this case, the draft is useless. 212.164.64.228 (talk) 16:12, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- There is also the consideration that we've had articles for all Grands Prix since 2011 onward - including the cancelled 2020 Australian Grand Prix for instance. FearfulWarpII (talk) 23:21, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
McLaren's livery
[edit]Is it something very relevant to be mentioned for this Grand Prix? I don't remember reporting changes in liveries as soon as teams brought to a Grand Prix a new theme. Island92 (talk) 13:47, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- I believe if it's factual information, it belongs here. Seems relevant enough to be mentioned. Remi1771 (talk) 20:54, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Can you clarify why its relevant. Telling the readers what the cars looked like does not increase their understanding of the event. SSSB (talk) 21:16, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sure there must've been a previous discussion in it's respective wiki ([1]?), I don't believe how they looked is important but the fact that they used a different livery seems appropriate, maybe even in cross-reference to formula one sponsorship liveries or Formula One sponsorship liveries but again, I don't think it's up to us or our opinion but rather something to be discussed. I also don't feel that adding a small sentence to reference it changes a lot, but then again I don't believe it's up to us. Remi1771 (talk) 11:41, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't realise it was a one-off tribute livery. I think at that stage it changes to a case-by-case basis. If you want to add a line, I say go for it. (So long as its reliablly sourced. SSSB (talk) 16:25, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- I assumed it was a one-off otherwise it wouldn't make sense Remi1771 (talk) 15:18, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Monaco retirements
[edit]@SSSB I see you reverted my edit about the crashes, but the source is about the race, not the fp2. Unfortunately due to how the page works, you have to click "race" in order to see the report, not exactly sure how to fix that.
You also mention that it's "contary [sic] to existing sources" but the sources mentioned don't specify the reason of the retirements. Remi1771 (talk) 11:27, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Citation 28 (in this revision) shows the reasons for retirements. SSSB (talk) 15:42, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ooh ok, I see now. I'm not sure how reliable is the source given that this is not the first case I found it made inaccurate statements (specifically talking about retirement reasons). I've linked 3 sources that say a different thing, and if you saw the race you'd realize it was also not a breaks fault.
- I think like it's important given that most retirement reasons use that page as a 'holy grail'. Remi1771 (talk) 13:11, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
