List of highest-grossing Kannada films

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kannada cinema is a part of Indian cinema based in Gandhi Nagar, Bangalore. The films are made primarily in Kannada-language. The 1965 film Satya Harishchandra was the first Kannada film to cross 1 crore.[citation needed] The 1995 film Om was the first Kannada film to cross 10 crores.[citation needed] Mungaru Male was the first Kannada film to cross 50 crores.[1] Raajakumara was the first Kannada movie to cross ₹75 crore mark.[2]

KGF: Chapter 1 was the first Kannada film to gross ₹100, ₹150, ₹200 and ₹250 crores.[3][4] Its sequel KGF: Chapter 2 was the first Kannada film to gross ₹500, ₹750, ₹1000 and ₹1250 crores respectively.[5][6][7][8] This ranking lists the highest-grossing Kannada films produced by Kannada cinema, based on conservative global box office estimates as reported by organisations classified as green by Wikipedia.[a] However, there is no official tracking of figures.
